    Sunny Sunday chat

Still more like a southern summer here with high humidity, but at least the sun is shining today.

Late yesterday I sent the boss a long email since he had not yet accepted that I am leaving.  Thankfully he's now accepted the "loss" of me, and he's being cool about it.  Gosh, I only told him AUGUST 1st!  Took him long enough. Tongue Tied

I am being rather lazy this weekend.  This is the first weekend in months when I've actually had time to be and I'm taking full advantage of it.  I got all the old newspaper stuff sorted to go back to the old boss, and actually managed to unearth my desk.  Can't remember the last time I actually saw the top of that!  So very nice to be organized again!

I have laundry to put out on the line and then want to go out and pick the garden and see just how much needs processing.  Hopefully not a ton since that doesn't fit in very well with being lazy!

Congrats on the new job Glenda!! I hope it's exactly what you're looking for.

Slow day on the forum, so I hope everyone is out enjoying the holiday weekend. I can't complain about our weather but the forecasters seem to be off on how hot it's getting each day. We actually have some poofy white clouds today and the sky looks beautiful.

DH set up a webcam aimed at where we thought the bat(s) were living. We'd stared at hours of footage and didn't spot a thing until this morning. The cam showed a bat arriving about 9ish last night and hanging out in the alcove area for quite awhile. Neither of us are terribly creeped out by bats but when we saw this one stretch his wing out, we both said "wow!" It's hard to tell for certain but I'd guess the wing was 5-6 inches across. Anyway, we're now wondering if this bat, and maybe others, are just coming to roost for periods of the night and not living inside the attic area. I told DH the only way to know for sure is to go into the attic area but he didn't seem interested in that idea ;)

Jackie - I started that book "The Dog Lives" yesterday and love it. The writer is quite funny. I'm heading to the bedroom to read some more of it and then take a nice nap.

Bats are SO not my favorite -- got one in my apartment once years ago and it turned into something quite ... personal .... it's another one of those things that makes me more angry than fearful (like get the heck outa MY turf!!)

I have a spaniel so attached to my ankle today .... I'm wondering if dinner will make a difference or will I have to opt for surgical removal???
