I was trying to reply to Tina's post earlier and another thread and couldn't figure out why I had no "post reply" button.  Forgot I hadn't logged in.  Duh.  Where are the emoticons so I can post the embarrassed blush.

So my coworker seems to have shingles.  He had all these other tests done but didn't mention the blisters across his back and chest to his doctor.  :(

DH came home from a long conference yesterday - all the dogs, little boy and wife were very happy especially since he came bearing gifts.

I am so pleased that this is Friday.  I'm starting to figure out this new site.  The original post in a thread is on top and all the replies start with the oldest at the bottom and the newest at the top - just under the OP.

This isn't very intuitive so I'll drop a note and see what happens.  I guess all we can do is try to provide feedback with a solution suggested.

Methinks my TMJ is acting up. The right side of my jaw is killing me. Ugh.

Figured out if you use "rich formatting" you can do the quote thing and picture thing.  Otherwise, still not a fan of this.  I don't like "social media" setups (even on social media sites like FB) though. 

I'm so bleeding tired.  I fell asleep around 6pm last night.  Woke up at 9pm when the significant other came home, went back to bed and slept till 7am.  WTH!  Granted, I haven't been sleeping that well lately.  Even my large iced coffee isn't touching this type of tired.

Jackie, I feel for your co-worker.  I had shingles last year and I had excruciating pain for almost a week before they were visible to the eye.  I made Ron get a shingles shot last fall cause as hard as it was for me to have it, I couldnt stand the thought of him having it.  Way worse whinner than me, lol.  My insurance pays but you have to be at least 60 yrs old. Dont know who came up with that # but I am not quite there.  I take 1000mg of L-lysine daily which has been successful in keeping it at bay.

Yeah, I think my body has finally decided to crash.  What with all the craziness of these last couple of weeks, I haven't been sleeping well.  It doesn't help I do suffer from periodic episodes of insomnia, usually brought on by stress lol (not that I've had anything to be stressed about lol)

Mom is doing ok.  Sounding more like herself on the phone (ie less tired/depressed).  Dino is doing very well.  He's such a ham and is keeping my mom active.  I was looking into classes for reactive dogs for her and the one that came highly recommended is on Tuesday nights and is currently full (they only take 4 dogs at a time, so they can have plenty of time to work individually).  I'll have to talk to her about that and my brother if he could take her.  I'd be willing to pay for it as an early xmas present.  She's trying to work with her union right now to get a transfer closer to home, so she can go back to work.  Fingers crossed on that!

I'm celebrating Jackie's Birthday and the fact that it only took me 4 1/2 hours how to figure out how to see the replies to a thread and how to actually reply myself.  So  . . . .

The Golden Celebration (this is the actual name of the drink and not a commentary on how you're really getting on in years, Jackie).

Muddle 1/2 oz. lime juice with 6 fresh mint leaves and a thin slice of ginger in a tall glass.

Add 2 oz. Vodka

Add 1 tbsp. of wild cherries in syrup (Amarena brand preferred) or if you're from NJ like me, just use maraschino cherries.

Add ice and a dash of bitters.

Top with Champagne.

OK, appararently if you just close down the forum screen while you're still logged in (which is what I did yesterday when I turned off my PC), then you get logged off somehow, because I had to log back in this morning.  So maybe there isn't an official thing to click on when you want to log off.

I'm not one to like or adapt to change well, so I'll keep my complaints to myself, but so far I find this new format less-than-ideal.  I agree that it seems Facebook-like (with the columns and weird appearance when you look for threads to read).  Not suitable to my very linear, non-creative way of thinking and interacting with my surroundings!

Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you, Jackie!  Got anything special planned to celebrate?

Sharon, glad your Mom is doing better, and I hope you're feeling more rested soon.  Your body (and mind) do eventually have to crash when they've been overwhelmed with stuff, and you've had more than your fair share of stuff!

Nothing planned this weekend, which is nice.  No houseguests.  No social commitments.  I'm looking forward to it!

When did this happen? Haven't been on in a few days and then wow......didn't think I was in the right place. Have to find out where people are on facebook, so if I don't care to come here to often I can keep up with others through facebook.
