 It's already a better day for me.  Got the conversation with my boss over with, got the "official" job offer and accepted, and now to just cleaning things off my plate in hopes of leaving no loose ends when I leave.  Oh and my caramel iced coffee was made extra caramelly (yeah not a word, but it should be!).  Mmmmmm.

Now if QuickBooks would stop booting me out, my day would be even better!

Because the Oil, Petroleum, Nuclear, Land Fill and Toxic Dump Site State wouldn't fit on a license plate.

Bugsy was slightly less morose today, but that might be related to DH cutting up a mango. I think B is a native of the tropics, loves his bananas and mangoes :)

I just got off the phone with someone who was extremely frustrated with me. It took a long long time and all of my "calming other people down" skills to get him to finally chill out. I thought my hand written comments that said "needs more information" was clear but apparently, that is not the case. Who would have figured? Communication - it'll screw up everything.

 I dropped my full coverage insurance on my escape today which makes me nervous. My plpd insurance is still $350 for 6 months. That seems pretty high to me. I would have figured it would have been in the $200s.

This is MY news of the morning (the email I just got) - I work in the building right next door to the garage:

Tower Realty has just been informed that from 7AM-7PM this WEDNESDAY, August 21st, 2013, Full Sail students will be shooting a film in and on top of the 50 W. Washington St. parking garage – including the Tropical Smoothie Café. During this production, the actors will be using a prop sniper rifle on the top level of the garage. The prop is non-operational, and there will be no pyro effects or noise simulating gunfire. A City of Orlando police officer will be on-site during the filming in order to ensure the safety and security of everyone around.

This *almost* as exciting as when they "blew up" the old City Hall building as part of Lethal Weapon III (Danny Glover and Mel Gibson were no where near at the time). At least it paid for part of the demolition that way LOL.

Slow start to our day, sleeping in an extra 10 minutes made us 20 minutes late. I'm not getting any "fix me" calls yet and the truck computers i programmed yesterday have yet to be traded out for new ones.

A good friend of mine lost her father yesterday. He was in no pain until the last day and she said that his passing was quite extraordinary in that he seemed so peaceful and happy. While it is very sad for her, she is pleased that he crossed the threshold so easily. All I can do is wish the same for all of us, some day.

Mum is harassing us to make plans for Christmas. I think we will stay home and then travel to my home town for a few days around New Years. That way we can establish our traditions at home and still see family. Both Mum and I like to be in our "home churches" for Christmas but that is in Nova Scotia and Minneapolis while we'll all be convening in Winnipeg where Dad and brothers live. Sigh - when did it all get so complicated?

Someone flipped a switch in Little Man yesterday and he was a model student with rave reviews and a perfect activity chart. He got to ride in the Mustang as a reward. Now I just have to find the replication switch.

Is it horrible that I see so many correlations between dog training and teaching my child?

Sarah, I think there is a lot of wisdom in using the principles of dog training with child rearing.  Rewarding the behavior you want works with just about all animals.
