    We're halfway there Wednesday Chat

Well, I'm getting the new car between 4-4:30 Today's high is 94. I think I'm going to drive it around with its sweet, sweet air conditioning when I get it, and freeze myself. Till then, I'm going to be drenched in sweat today. I'm at the allergy doctor for shots now. Then I've got a 50 minute drive down to a training, then 45 minutes back to a client, and finally, to get the car. When I cleaned out the old one last night, I had a mountain of stuff 4 ft. High that I was storing in there, minus crates and chairs. In the old car, I cold keep an extra crate for Luke. Now, I can fit one for him and Callie if I so choose. I can switch her back to her bigger crate, and carry the other one for her extra.

Yay for the new car, Jen!  It's great to have a/c and sounds like you'll have a lot better set up for hauling dogs. :)

More rain expected today.  Big Smile

Last week I bought some funny cards but I seem to have thrown them out with the bag.  I've looked everywhere and they're gone. :(

    Nothing else to report.

ETA:  Found the cards!  lol  I went to put some newspapers in my car to take to the shelter and decided to flip through them and there they were.

ETA again to correct stupid error.  No more breaking news to report.

Hello! Can anyone tell me how to make my paragraph breaks work? I really don't write like this.... really. Today is DH's birthday and he is flying home from Denver this afternoon. I had DS sing Happy Birthday and sent it via instant message from iPad to iPad this morning - it was cute. I must remember to pick up a Birthday Cake on my way home, perhaps ordering it now would be good. I also need a card to put my gift cards into - yes, that is what he wanted so who am I to disagree? After all my worrying M&M were quite patient with the schedule yesterday but today is another story. They desperately wanted to go for a run this morning but it wasn't in the books. Poor dogs. Back to watching the phone and waiting for it to ring....

I was just thinking how delicious a frozen margarita would be on this scorching hot day. Cool

David's finally done with the computer conversion & **finally** I'm back driving myself to work and getting all the way to my desk without the #$(#(@ wheelchair.  It has been the longest 2 1/2 months, but I am SO glad to begin to be ambulatory again.  I'm not back to my "normal" (which is not "normal" for anyone else LOL) but I'm getting close.  I had to devise my own physical therapy for this but it's working.

The board is not friendly with Chrome or tablets (and frankly, I'm starting to think NO browser works at all well with anything any more -- whatta p.i.t.a.!!!  Chrome makes me crazy with the paragraph thing, Firefox leaps off a page at the slightest touch of the mouse and you lose everything, and IE just plain sucks any more!)

Sarah you have to type this to make the paragraph breaks:

Type all the following *two times* with NO spaces between -- and I can't just type it in here or it will just make a paragraph break *sigh*:

    <

    \

    p

    >

     Hopefully that makes sense.

Sigh. I have to use Chrome since I'm at work - not my favourite but I do like working, right? Testing to see if it works. Today - my task at work is to load up a bunch of pictures or scenes on USB sticks to place in the huge tv monitors we have mounted on all the walls. I do this while waiting for support phone calls to come in. I'm thinking of doing a different theme - mountains/dessert/beaches etc for each monitor. Ideas?

    Dogs at the beach? :)

Jackie - I'm so glad you found the cards. I know how frustrating that kind of thing can be. I'm experiencing it almost daily since we moved.

Jen - congrats on the new car!!!

Pool is getting replastered today - yay!! It'll probably take 2 days to fill back up. We found 3 baby mice (rats?) in the pool last evening. They were only about an inch long. 2 were still alive but didn't seem to be able to get out, so DH helped them into the bushes. 1 was already dead. I think they were too young to be on their own and we can't figure out how they got in the pool. I think they came in one of the open valves but DH says that wouldn't be possible. Either way, it was kind of sad :(

Feeling majorly stressed with work, so I'd better get back to it.

I am feeling majorly stressed too and I just found out the letter I had been waiting for (so I can take action) has been sitting in our office on someone's desk got over a month. I even had a briefing with that person clearly saying how I was waiting for that letter. Makes us look like idiots and my counterpart nearly hung up on me during our phone conversation about it today. I would really hate working with us if I were that person. Totally understandable. (grrrrr)

In other news... Well there really isn't any other news other than it is a million degrees with insane humidity. I don't have leather seats yet my seat burned my butt when I sat on it (car seat) today around noon. Now that is hot.

That's what I was going to say, but Jackie beat me to it!  If you don't want anyone to feel left out, maybe one can be dogs and cats (and other animals?).

Congrats on the new wheels, Jen.  Enjoy that A/C -- driving on hot days without it is truly miserable.

Jackie, I'm glad you found the cards.  I hate to lose track of things like that.  It's so frustrating.

I sure don't envy those of you dealing with horrible humidity.

Cathy, I would've felt sad for the baby rats/mice, too.  I hope the pool project wraps up quickly!

So, Sunday I was sitting on the patio, and I felt a sharp sting on my thigh (not as bad as a bee sting, but a sting/bite).  I looked down, and there was a tiny winged bug, maybe a mosquito, not much larger than a fruit fly or gnat.  I swatted it away, and I could see the miniscule hole it left in my thigh.  I went right inside and cleaned it off with rubbing alcohol and it seemed fine.  Yesterday morning it was a huge red lump that was very sore and itchy.  I bet it's the size of a quarter, if not larger.  Now there are a couple other tiny bumps near it, all surrounded by red skin, then almost a whitish ring around the whole area.  I put some hydrocortisone cream on it . . . I'm wondering if a doctor's visit is in order.  We rarely, if ever, have mosquitoes here, so I hope it wasn't some rare disease-carrying insect I'm unaware of.  I don't want my leg to fall off.  Freaky!

    • Gold Top Dog
You don't have mosquitos?!?!?!? I'm on my way. Should I bring a beverage?
    • Gold Top Dog
Seriously how do you not have mosquitos with all ghat rain?
    • Gold Top Dog

I was wondering what "ghat rain" was until it dawned on me that you meant "that rain", Julie. Geeked

Why on earth does someone think that sunglasses will flush down a toilet? I get not wanting to have to pick them out in a restaurant bathroom, but it isn't free for us to yank the toilet off to unclog the drain. Idiots.

Sorry, they fell in and I tried to get them out with my shoe but then that fell in and then I tried to use the paper towel dispenser and when that didn't work, I slunk out, limping slightly.

Tracy, that bite sounds yucky.  I've got no advice. We've got so many different stinging, biting insects that I tend to ignore the bites.  Hope I don't get bit by something someday that I shouldn't have ignored.  Like a ghat mosquito. Surprise

     Hello!

Sarah type < p > without the spaces - you don't need the backstroke

I will not complain about the heat - heat means I have sunshine, this is good. Of course they say violent storms may pop up

I just picked up a Ruffwear cool coat for B. I am hoping it helps on his walks, if it doesn't I have to assume his elbow is still painful Sad At four months post op, if the elbow still hurts it isn't likely to get better. Crying

Hmm DH asked me this morning what I wanted for dinner - he was home I was at work - I gave him a few ideas. I came home and said what did you decide? He couldn't so he froze all the meat. Hmm that didn't really solve the problem. So I said I guess we'll graze and he sounds disappointed.  He's not going to die from man-flu but something else might get him Devil
