    Brrrrrr! It's Saturday

Where did the warm weather go? It's 40s and gloomy. I had to turn the heat on last night! My family is meeting at a Japanese steakhouse for mothers day dinner tonight. Should be good. However, this is all we ever do, get together and eat. I wish we would get together and actually do something. Sitting there and eating is so boring plus the young kids hate it and can never sit still. I suggested we go to the tulip festival but I guess it got shot down. Anyway the place is near a big mall, maybe I will go shopping before or after If it dries up a tad I am supposed to meet a friend for some Mtn biking this morning. She is on this exercise kick which is great because it gets me off my butt. She is doing 5 days of 30 mins of cardio per day and 10 mins of some form of strength or body resistance stuff every day. Come on weather!

Julie, the weather has been unseasonably cool here too but that means we aren't roasting in our own juices. lol  We've got 60's this morning and a high of 81 for today.  I love it. :)   I'm sorry your weather is gloomy and cold.

We're thinking of going to the botanical gardens today.  Should be gorgeous as we've had some rain this past week and when we were there two weeks ago it was spectacular.

I'm feeling such a let down after being really pumped last night about the bid we turned in and our chances of getting this huge contract.  I still feel confident but the stress has caught up with me mentally and I feel like I want to sleep for a week.  DH keeps talking about it and telling me what a good job I did, etc. but I don't even want to think about it for the next two days though it's nice of him to be so supportive and to recognize how much work went into putting this monster bid together.

We had a nice dinner out last night and our favorite waitress bought us dessert. :) She's a gem and we tipped her lavishly.  She works her butt off and I've never seen her frown or slow down.  This restaraunt is insanely busy but she never seems to let it get to her.  We tell the management all the time that she and the other staff are as responsible for our repeated visits as the good food and margaritas.

We were down to the wire yesterday and while I was printing out the three copies(75 pages each) my computer starting making weird noises.  I was freaking out. At the bid opening, I felt sorry for the woman reading the bids.  Each line item had to be read and there were probably  two hundred or more items to be read on each bid.  She was so tired of reading her throat was sore and when I saw her afterwards in the ladies room I told her what a good job she did. She said she's new in that department and the low man gets these type of assignments.  It took almost two hours of solid reading on her part and writing on my  part.  We both rushed to the ladies room for the obvious reason when it was over. lol

Sorry Julie but I have endured weeks of cool, wet gray days which have finally given way to warmth and sunshine - 77* here already!!

    Storms to arrive later though

Had a nice walk with B and saw some folks I haven't seen in a while so we had some nice chats.

I am going to go out and do a ton of yard work, finish the cleaning and then sit on my ever widening butt.

Jackie I am sooo glad that you had a nice meal last night and congrats once again on completing the bid. Having worked on smaller bids solo I know how crazy putting it all together can get.

It will mostly be a stay at home weekend - Duke, UNC, NC State and several smaller colleges are all graduating this weekend PLUS Mother's Day. No dining establishment will have an empty seat

Rainy and cool here, but the sun is trying to shine. Mowing has been postponed until the grass dries (which I hope is this morning!). I bought 9 different varieties of tomatoes yesterday (one plant per variety)--I was aiming for 6 kinds but I couldn't help myself :-)

Mozey is taking her morning nap and Sinbad is "helping" Grandpa. OK, I need to get busy cleaning while the yard dries. Hugs for all who need them.

First lawn mowing of the season. Wore my winter work parka, watched my fingers turn blue. But it could be worse. It's the MN fishing opener. A friend of mine lives up north in beautiful Ottertail county. His lake is still frozen, still has snow on the ground. And, horror of horrors, there is a shortage of leeches this year. The big lakes for walleye-Millacs, Leech, Red- haven't gone ice free yet. A little known fact is that some of the best fishing in the state is in Minneapolis. A chain of connected lakes that have walleye, northern, bass, muskie, and assorted pan fish, right in the heart of the big city. But if you fished near home, you couldn't spend $3.79 a gallon for gas, eat greasy food, and freeze your butt off in an ice bound boat sitting in 35º water. The only way it could be any better is if the wind picks up and rain starts.

And here! I graduated this morning! I'm done! Zeke, however, was not amused. "Crate me and leave me at 7:30 a.m.? Are you nuts?" was his opinion.

It is cold here, too. I think it dropped since I got up. It's about 50 degrees and wet. Not so good for graduation pictures, but oh well. As long as it's nice for the party in a couple weeks, that's okay with me. Besides, it may be cool enough to take Zeke bikejoring. Hmm...

Julie and Doug, that kind of weather should be illegal in May. Right now we're in the low 80s with a slight breeze. We can see summer coming around the corner.

I need to make a trip to Costco and Trader Joe's but I'm feeling very lazy.  I definitely don't want to drive to Woodland so I guess I'll go to TJ's and hit Costco maybe next weekend if I can wait that long to get some more chicken fajita strips and pesto sauce.

I totally agree, Joyce!  Oh, and I got a chuckle out of your post late yesterday about Max and his shadow!

Congratulations Ezeke!  I remember what a relief it was to be finished with school.  The funny thing is 25+ years later, now I wish I could afford to go back to school full-time and just study whatever I wanted . . . not choosing courses that are good for job prospects . . . just to learn about things I'm interested in and didn't quite appreciate when I was 20.

Jackie, we have a favorite server at a restaurant in a nearby town.  We always ask to sit in his section.  He gives great service, never steers us wrong on what to try (the menu is locally-based and changes each month), and he's brought us things to try without charging us.  Needless to say, we tip him extremely generously!

Today my friend and I went to an outdoor shopping mall -- I was only going to get something at The Container Store that I needed, but I ended up buying some clothes at White House Black Market.  I was browsing the clearance racks while my friend was trying something on and found some cute things.  I spent money I wasn't planning to spend, but I got a jacket (with polka dots!), a pair of pants and 2 tops, all significantly marked down.  I never find anything when I purposely LOOK for an outfit, but then I find stuff when I'm not intending to buy.  Oh well -- Murphy's Law, I guess!

Funny talk about servers. DH took me out to lunch today for Mother's Day (we'd both rather go a day early when it's not so crowded) to a Mexican restaurant. We don't go out to eat frequently, but we like this place. There's one guy there that I always hope is our server. He's such a happy little guy that scurries all around the restaurant with a big smile on his face. He just cracks me up. He's very polite and cheery. The food was good as usual, but boy oh boy do I have dober gas tonight! haha

We had all sorts of weather today: rain, sleet, hail, snow, wind, and sunshine. Willa's first t-ball game was canceled because it was so cold and windy. We did have to go in and pick up our uniforms (I'm helping coach) and get our pictures taken.

Just a quick message as I don't want to use up my battery on my phone. Have found myself in the hospital. Have asthma and complicated with pneumonia. In the admitting area waiting for a room. Yup they are keeping me.

Yikes! Feel better fast! Let us K ow how you're doing tomorrow

Jan your description of the guy scurrying around the restaurant made me smile and the dober gas comment = LOL!

So i drove 1.5 hrs tonight to eat at A&w. Bleh. I don't like Asian food but didn't want to complain for mothers day so I figured I would just get a salad or something at the Japanese please. Unfortunately there was no salad option and all the entrées were $25+! Within 5 mins of sitting down my adhd nephew was already getting into trouble so I offered to take him to the mall food court to eat and play on the playground. Win win for both of us except for having to eat A&w lol. Oh well. We had fun and now that my sister shared some tools for how to deal with him, he actually listened and behaved nicely!

Lily lost a squeaker under the entertainment center (she removes squares then just plays with the squeaker. It is like her most prized possession). Anyway, she is having a panic attack that she can't get the squeaker. I couldn't reach it either. I will have to mcgyver something up to reach under there so her world can be at peace again.

Oh no! I hope you're okay and get set free soon.

I slept so late this morning because I took allergy medicine at 11 last night because I was reacting to handling other people's dogs. It's odd though, because I was only breaking out in hives on my right arm. I'm hacking up lungs. I can actually hear my lungs sounding like crap. We went out to Ground Round for my friend's birthday, and she didn't want desserts there. She went out after to Cheeburger Cheeburger and got a milkshake. I felt bad skipping, but I can't drink a milk shake right now. I'd end up coughing and puking it up.

I'm trying to decide what to do tomorrow morning. My initial plan was to go to flyball practice. However, I decided we're leaving the team. I didn't mention it yet, nor do I care to. I'm just going to run him in open for a bit while deciding where to go. I did want to possibly talk to some of the people there who I actually like. I also wanted to put him on the box to practice a bit. I know some people I don't want to deal with will not be there, but I wish I knew about a few more people I'd rather not speak to again. I should possibly stay at home and get work done. I haven't gotten much done because I've felt like crap. Option #3 is to take Luke to check out some lure coursing. Callie already tried it once and didn't care. This is a new one being run by someone we know from weight pulling. She has fencing for it, so I can actually try it for him. I do want to get out and try it at least once to see if he likes it and support her, but I don't think tomorrow will be the day. It's wet, and I'm already hacking up lungs.  So, I think it'll be stay home or flyball.
