    Monday chat

Not sure how I am going to make today work. I have conflicting meetings It's another beautiful day though! I love spring/summer. Last night I went to a friends and we sat out on their deck around a fire and roasted marshmallows and drank a few. Can't do that comfortably in the winter! This week feels ike it's going to be a long one already.

It is Riley's birthday week. Whhheeee. Her actual birthday isn't until Saturday, but the festivities have already started LOL

My friend is coming over on Wednesday to help me make cake pops for her birthday party at school and help me decorate her cake. I will have to post pictures when it's done since this will be my first attempt at a themed cake.

I am happy to report that Charlie's leg/foot is 100% fine. No limping or tenderness.

We had a productive cleaning weekend. We cleaned the carpets on Saturday and Riley helped me wash down all the walls and baseboards yesterday. I am so glad I only use vinegar and water, since it allowed her to help me without the fear of chemical stuff. The only problem is we busted our bums all weekend and the house doesn't "look" any different. LOL

I love campfires Julie, but I always hate the way I smell afterwards. It seems I can never get that fire smoky smell out of my hair.

I too love this time of year.  And, I'm relieved to hear that we should have some good rain coming on Wednesday.  Not that I'm a fan of being wet all day, but, we do need the rain and it will make my garden happy.

For me too, this week already seems like it's going to last at least two.  I always dread our sales meetings because I never know what one person is going to do and she's been on a roll lately.  One persons negative attitude can really spoil everyones attitude for at least a couple hours and we don't need that.

But, the sun is shining, the sky is blue, the trees are flowering the green stuff is covering the car I washed and waxed yesterday (oppps) so the heck with negative ninny!  I'm going out there and have a great day and I hope everyone else does too.

Glad to hear that Charlie is doing fine and sending my best vibes out to Sinbad!

It is another cool - although a bit warmer - wet, gray day. Showers on and off all day with thunderstorms later. Confused I think Thursday and Friday are supposed to be warmer and have low likelihood of rain. Sigh.

I am going to take B to the lake with the kayak today despite the rain, I don't think he'll swim much but I think it will be great if I can get him swimming

Lots to do so I had better get going - I have lost the ability to judge what time it is by the sunlight because its been a week and a half of gray all day every day so it could be 6am or 8 am or noon or ah you get the idea

I'm going to get up off my butt in a bit and go track down a student for observation. Then I may get back to some paperwork that is in desperate need of getting done.

Luke has just become a free agent in flyball. He was going to, but I was also going to show up to one more practice. I think I just decided not to. When he was with my friend, they were discussing not putting him in for the next tournament (on the basis of crappy performance that one time which was the fault of idiot people who wouldn't listen and give him a ball he liked). Today I got the email that yes, he isn't being put in. But not actually that he wasn't being put in. Just that we're putting in two teams. I had to figure it out based on that, and what teams are being put in, that he is not going to be put in. At least have the balls to tell me to my face, or actually email me and tell me you're not going to use him. Well, good, thanks, bye. Make my life easier. I was going to show up to one more practice, but at the moment, I don't even feel like doing that.

I'm home again today -- I've been MIA a lot because I'm going thru the worst bout of sciatica *ever*. The muscle relaxers put me to sleep so I've literally slept (and NOT "sat";) all weekend. This has been going on a while but worsening and at this pont I can't "sit" so I can't work. Not good. I'll have to find out what's up with Sinbad. Glad Charlie is better. Hope Riley's birthday goes really well!!

Between me, Mr. W and Kate, we had about half the field covered in the Derby.  We didn't have one winning ticket in the bunch LOL.  Oh well  . . . . . there's always the Preakness !!

I hope Bugsy's swim goes well. Sending you sunshine vibes, Karen.

Good thoughts and vibes for Sinbad.  I'm so glad to hear Charlie is better.

We recorded the race on Saturday so we could skip a lot of the BS stuff. It was pretty exciting to see Orb come up and win.  I was rooting for the horse Rosie was riding but I've forgotten the name.  I like that the winning horse's trainer is from KY and had never won at the Derby.  He was a pretty taciturn guy wasn't he? lol

We worked most of the day in the back yard yesterday. Then I gave all three dogs a bath because they filthy. It was warm enough to bathe them outside. :)   Some of our cherry tomatoes are starting to ripen.  Big Smile

I overanalyzed as usual and only went with my original pick, Orb, then threw a couple bucks on Overanalyze.  Spent $10 total, got back $25.60. I had to dvr the race to see it because the only chance I had to use the bathroom while working was that 2 minutes the race was running.

I had DVR'd the race too and then saw on FB and got a CNN msg that Orb had won and it no longer seemed necessary to watch the hours leading up to it.

Callie - I'm thinking good thoughts for you and your back. I hope it starts to feel better soon.

I woke up to pouring rain. It was supposed to be iffy if we'd get any, so I guess they were off on that. We need it, so I shouldn't complain but I really wanted to spend some time outside. Instead, I think I'll go to Macy's and see if I can find a new foundation that I like. I've been wearing a tinted moisturizer most of my adult life but it just doesn't seem to be working any more. I don't like heavy make-up, so we'll see what they have to offer.

Callie hope your back is better soon!  It's another gorgeous day outside.  I'm stuck in the office, all by myself.  Which is good - because I'm working uninterrupted (except when the phone rings).  I'm still learning Quickbooks and already made my first goof, but then I figured out how to fix my goof.  So all's well that end's well.  I have a ton of questions though for my coworker before she leaves us for good on Friday.

I'm nervous about my interview tomorrow.  It's my FOURTH interview with them, and frankly I have no idea what questions to ask or expect at this juncture.  I feel ill prepared because of that.  I'm the type that comes in with a list of questions and backup questions (in case my important questions get answered during the course of the interview).

Keep calm Sharon, you've done well each time and will do well again!

    Feel better Callie

The gloomy weather is freaking oppressive and the skies are darkening Crying

Bugsy enjoyed swimming this morning and didn't hesitate for long. I expected a little more trepidation but once I was in the boat floating away from him he had to chase me! Moooooooom! haha then he was like "oh yea, I love swimming" Didn't last long but he was very happy to be back at the lake

Sharon, I'd be feeling weird about a 4th interview, too.  If it's with people you've met with already, you don't want to ask the same questions over again . . . but how do you come up with brand new ones after 3 interviews already!  Maybe one question could be, "Why have their been so many interviews?"  (I'm kidding, of course)

Lisa, definitely post a pic of Riley's cake.  And now I'm hungry for cake pops.  Occasionally I cave in and get one from Starbucks if I walk over there on a break.  It's ridiculous to pay that much for one or two bites, but I love cake!

Glad to hear Charlie is back to his old self.  Thinking good thoughts for Mr. Sinbad, too.

Sending "NO sciatica" vibes to you, Callie!

Jen, that's a bummer about how your teammates handled the situation with Luke.  I hope you can find a better team to work with.

Karen, telling time by the sun is impossible here for the majority of the year.  It's annoying to have to put the indoor lights on in the middle of the afternoon, but we often do.  That's why everyone around here is almost giddy due to our 2+ weeks of sunny weather.  And no chance of rain this week, either!

For anyone who didn't see my post late last night, the Harris hawk did eventually return to the handlers at the wildlife benefit, so it was a happy ending!

Tina - THANKS for the Box Tops! DH brought in the mail and handed an envelope to Willa. She said, "What's this? Like, a REALLY late birthday card or something?" haha! She does like getting mail but apparently it should be holiday-related or she gets confused. She was really happy once she opened it up and realized what it was.

I try to encourage Willa in whatever she is interested in, but I think we may have gotten ourselves in over our heads. We are SO busy! Sunday is soccer practice. Monday afternoon is t-ball practice, Monday evening is a soccer game. Tuesday is swimming lessons. Wednesday is gymnastics. Thursday is Sonja's swimming lesson. Saturday is a t-ball game. T-ball practice might get switched to Friday afternoon. Whew! Plus 4k Wednesday and Thursday but that is only through the end of this month.
