Mindless Monday

 woohee SOGGY Monday here - no idea how much rain has fallen since last evening but A LOT!

A bit bummed that I just called to get B an acupuncture treatment but nothing is available until the 9th.

We were supposed to have 5 days of rain but the current forecast says tomorrow may be dry - :)

Julie that sounds like a blast although not the bathing of three dogs

I guess I need to take B for a wet walk, he's all but given up pooping in the yard

Julie, your weekend sounds like it was soggy but fun. :)  Karen, I hope you get a break from the rain.  Things are growing so fast here after the rain we had you can almost watch the growth. 

Coworker was hoping to have a nice long relaxing weekend at his place at the coast.  That was not to be.  He arrived to discover his garage had been broken into and every fishing pole and every tool had been stolen.  He had dozens of rods and reels and some were very expensive deep sea rigs.  He had a lot of tools down there because he's always got a project going.  He's got insurance but he's still fighting mad about it.  He has an alarm system on the house but hadn't gotten around to wiring the garage yet. :(

I guess I should start working on all the stuff I need to do but I'm feeling so discouraged this morning about everything that I feel sort of like a deer facing oncoming headlights.

Good news about the Spurs (not that anyone cares except people here).  They swept the Lakers.  I guess the Lakers had a lot of injured players so it probably won't be as easy next round. 

Is it just me or are show dog people the most gossipy/backstabbing people in all the dog world or what?

Today is Shane's Gotcha Day. I bought him a new toy, although nothing as cool as what Ruby got. I'll give it to him a little later and try to get a picture. I remember driving home with him a year ago and he seemed so nervous and drooled the whole way home. I was really worried that he might not like us. Thanks to our efforts to spoil him rotten, he's a pretty happy guy now and we feel like we hit the lottery.

I have a dental appt at 1 to get a crown. They do it all in one appt but it's a 2 hour appt. I am not looking forward to that.

Happy Gotcha Day to one of the luckiest dogs in the world!!!  We need a picture so don't forget. :)  Good luck with the dental appointment.  Thanks for the Spurs support. lol  DH gets so upset that his team doesn't get much attention or respect for their accomplishments.  I'll tell him they've got at least one fan in Cali. :)

Lisa, way to go on the super-affordable garden project!  That's my kind of makeover!

Jackie, your poor coworker.  My mother has had her apartment robbed and she had her car stolen out of her driveway (when she lived in crummier neighborhoods than where she is now).  I know how upset, angry, and violated she felt . . . it's no wonder your coworker is so mad.  It's no consolation, but even if he had the garage wired for an alarm, it might not have stopped the thieves.  They can run in and grab valuables and get out of there before police even arrive.  But, adding lots of security like alarms and lighting helps give us some sense of protection, I guess.

Karen, I could probably count on one hand the number of times that Tonka pooped in the yard in the nearly 10 years he was with us.  I swear, he would hold it until we went on a walk.  It was pretty annoying at times when the weather was miserable out or when we were in a hurry and just wanted him to go quickly in the yard.  Our friends had a dog who was the opposite.  She would not go anywhere BUT their yard -- to the point of waiting far too long until they got home from a walk or wherever they were out with her. 

Some heavy rain fell last night and it's cooler and cloudier today, but once it clears, they're saying another week of unseasonably dry and warm weather.  The city will be announcing water restrictions later this summer if this keeps up!

Sounded like a fun time Julie, except for the baths afterwards. Be way too much mud for me to want to deal with though.

Good gosh Doug, your area is sure going thru some major day by day weather changes. I thought it was bad here.

As far as dog people being gossipy and backstabbing, we don't see much of that in the agility. At least not to my knowledge. Most of us all care about how the dogs do. Sure there is a competitive spirit, but in the end everyone cheers for everyone elses dogs. That's one thing I like about agility.

Happy gotcha day Shane. Hope your Dental appointment wasn't too bad Cathy. I spend a lot of my time in the dental chair so I know where you are coming from.

I never saw or heard much of it in any Field competition or sport but the show ring is so different, being so subjective, and it seems to bring out the worst in some people.  I'm sure there are show dog people who don't gossip and backstab each other but sometimes they are thin on the ground. lol

Hey there ya old hags!  :P  Just popping by to say HELLO to ya all.  It's so nice out it's unreal....gotta keep pinching myself to makesure it's real.  Only approx a couple weeks of school left ....just fieldcamp to do now.  EEeeeEeeEEeEEEEE  Oh, and I'm in line for several awards this year.  THEY INVOLVE MONEY!!!  :D  Dunno if I should work this summer or just travel.  I could go for some sandy beachy type atmospheres right bout now.

Hope all the furbabies have been doing great.  I miss all the stories ya knows.

Tracy, Bugsy has had only poop in the yard phases (and only in certain spots) and has now moved over to only poop on walks thing. Knowing him as I do I believe it to be insurance that he gets out and about.

Speaking of beastie, I got home a bit ago and he wanted to go out. So we were doing the "oh this blade of grass smells nice" full circuit when he saw the neighbor who fosters with a new pup. head.desk. I was not going anywhere but to see the pup. So we met the pup, then the neighbor's golden wanted in, then DH returned from a walk. I will finish by saying I was just standing there attempting to hold the leash while Beast was trying to run zoomies

Doug that weather is crazy. our rain seems to have stopped for now, I can't gather how much we must have gotten since yesterday but the earth says thanks! At this point in the year I don't think there is an upper limit of how much water can be sucked up and used swiftly. As you said Jackie its as if things are growing in front of my eyes
