Yanke - too funny! You're a very considerate guy, trying to prevent your wife from feeling bad she's still working. And you're doing some vacuuming and dusting? Wow!
When our friend retired, his wife was going bonkers because she was used to being home alone all day, and he started following her around the house asking, "What are you doing now?" She's a great housekeeper, gardener, and cook, so it's not like she was sitting all day eating bon-bons. After a few weeks of his pestering, she decided to put him to work. She told him all the things she did each day and made him pick something that would be his job. He chose to do all the cooking. It kept him busier, but the drawback was he wasn't interested in healthy recipes, so their new menu led to some serious weight gain for both of them!
Deb -- after you enjoy the initial celebrations, I hope it's not too frustrating for you. At least Jamison will be happy to have someone home all day with him, right?
We've had 5 straight days of FANTASTIC weather -- unusual here this time of year. In the 70's, not a cloud in the sky, a light breeze. Today it may reach 80. I know the rains will return, but for now everyone around here is remarking how much happier we all feel!
I'm going to see David Sedaris tonight -- he'll read from his latest book. Just the title is funny, so I know he'll be hilarious as usual. It's called Let's Explore Diabetes with Owls.
