    Monday Chatter

I think my second interview with the VP went well - but he's a hard one to read. I may be too inexperienced for him in a couple of regards. I'm supposed to have a meeting at some point this week, though, to meet with his department heads.

At least the boss is on vaca this week, so I'll actually be able to get things done lol.

     And we're back!

    Good luck!

Wondering what the heck is going on at the Boston Marathon. I know I've been by where this happened, and I've seen the finish line marked on the ground before, but I can't place this all too well.  Hopefully everyone is okay.

Sharon, that sounds pretty positive! Good vibes that things go well.

It was not in the 50s here yesterday - much colder with wind! Today it is nice but of course I am overdressed.

Hope Bugsy is having a better day.

Glad the second interview went well, Sharon.

Tina, you overdressed?  Did you wear your mink to work, again?  :)

I heard about the explosions near the Boston Marathon finish line.  I'm sure the news media is reporting non stop but maybe not much accurate info out there yet.  I hope there weren't too many more injuries that what they're reporting now. :(

Not much going on here.  It's warm and very humid.  Sweaty even.

LOL! Must be the extra layer of cat hair.

    And the thermostat wars continue...

I'd love to see some actual accurate reporting. I'd also love to see my Boston area friends check in on Facebook. I don't think anyone I know was running this year.

Yesterday, on my way home from work, I saw a dog running along 95 (for those who might know the area, it was right around the New Hope exit in PA, near the rest area right when you get in to PA). I tried to come around again and see if I could find it. I tried coming around again, and I saw it once when I was on the wrong side. Once I got around on the correct side, I didn't see it again. I felt bad that I couldn't keep searching, but I was coughing so bad I was nearly vomiting. Hopefully the dog didn't get hit.

Sharon -- glad that went well!!

Tina -- ugh that all sounds ... not comfortable. -- thermostat wars?  ugh

Jen -- sorry you're still so unwell.  Feel better.

Re the Boston marathon explosions - they are now saying it was bombs and at least one other has been discovered (and blown up by the police) and likely another one. 2 deaths and 23 injuries (several of which are being termed amputations Crying)

    Unreal

I have had an unusual day and am left with my head spinning. Life is never simple.

The pollen explosion is darn near killing people here, I am guessing its because we stayed so cold and were behind schedule and then went straight to warm weather, I don't really know but holy crap everyone seems to be suffering in one way or another. I am sooooooo itchy. My skin is irritated, blotchy and dry. nothing seems to be helping. To add to my itchiness I had a tick walking up my back earlier. I cannot stop scratching.

So DH who is super busy today - just sent me a text saying that clearly there was a mistake in the explosions because you wouldn't have them explode only 15 seconds apart. You want to wait for emergency services to arrive and people to gather in order to maximize casualties. Um yes he was in the anti-terrorism division for a while in England dealing with the IRA. Tongue Tied

eta: Thanks Tina Bugsy is still up and down. He's happy but he isn't seeming to progress much at this stage.

My mom is major into conspiracy theories, and is driving me nuts. She suggested possibly going into a local farm for some icecream, then told me I can't have it anyway, but they do have water ice, which I could get. I'm trying very hard to convince her we need to go there.

Karen - I'm far from an expert on anything but I agree with your husband that the 2nd bomb going off so quickly either was an accident and should've gone off later or ? I'm sure we're going to hear more as they sort through things but I can't help but wonder how anyone with bombs was able to get that close to the finish line area. It just goes to show that the feeling of heightened security = heightened safety is mostly an illusion.

I had an eye dr. appt this morning and I have a dental appt. at 4. Not the most fun way to spend a day off.

Boston, not far from my hometown.  A fascinating city, chock full of America's history and culture.  I am sorry some jerks targeted you today with their insanity.  My prayers are for you tonight and in the coming days and weeks.  And may the perpetrators meet their match...

Hopefully there will be no more casualties in this.

I feel petty posting this, but I want something for dinner, but I want something that will taste okay if I cough it back up. I also don't really feel like making anything. My mom made something that might taste okay. It smells okay, but I feel like my throat, which is now sore from the obnoxious post nasal drip, wouldn't really appreciate it. I'm debating about mac and cheese, but my mom will yell at me for the dairy, even though I make it without milk.

Karen what do you mean by not much progress?

Sharon so glad to hear the interview went well! I hope this all works out

I am curious about a local runner that was running in e marathon today. She runs with my brothers group and we were just talking about her yesterday. Will have to check with my brother to see if anyone has heard from her. I don't know ow her personally. This really brings to light how vulnerable we are at big public events :(

I am sitting in my deck right now bbq'ing dinner. I have only a long sleeve shirt and pants. Warmer weather is so relaxing. The dogs are certainly enjoying their yard time. They don't spend time in the yard unless I am out with them so right now abbie and lily are hunting all of the possible critter paths and locations. Neiko doesn't give a rip and would rather wait by me in case I offer him some bbq when it's done :p

Karen what do you mean by not much progress?
Just kind of stalled. We are doing two .5 - .6 walks a day and on the second one he is really gimpy. I did just one on Friday and none (just yard wanders which can take 15-20 minutes with him who sniffs each blade of grass) on Saturday but he was just as bad on Sunday. So back to two yesterday and he was the same this morning. I'll take him out in an hour or so and see how he is. We were making daily improvement it seemed but this week has stalled. He is doing stairs more often though. I think its just a long road but I like to see change.

    Sharon congrats!! well done

Julie there are several feeds on FB where you can look up runners

Karen, I hope Bugs continues to make some progress. Maybe it just won't be as quick now?

I'm hoping my eye is red because I got soap in it or something in the shower, and not something else. I decided I'd have the mac and cheese, and eat too much of it, just for good measure.
