    Just another manic Monday chat

    Off and running early. Sleep

Happy Monday - that's about all I have this AM! Everyone have a good day!

I'm off to jury duty in a little while.  I'm lucky that way.

Cathy, the cake was pretty good if you like angel food cake.  The batter was a little like a volcano when you mixed the cake mix and the canned pineapple.  Kind of cool.

    Coffee! Coffee!

Off to see a dentist type specialist. 50 mile run. The joys of rural living.

It's raining, with storms forecast. Love it. Had Piper out for a good run yesterday, and she discovered the thawed out swamp in the river bottom. Rich, black, thick, sticky MUD. Dripping. Which is why I have a canvas drop cloth in the truck. Didn't help my wifes' white jacket much though.

Wife brought her binoculars along to bird watch. Saw a kestral diving and missing something, along with some birds described as small brown birds.

When I first woke up this morning I thought it was Sunday. Imagine my disappointment!

I had a dream last night that I ran a 5k adventure race. I kicked butt at the kayaking and archery portions and took a nap during the actual run. Where does my brain come up with these things?

I have an opportunity at a promotion at work. I'm tossing around the idea. It's a completely different career path.

You know what really burns my bacon ?  When you walk into Walgreens to pick something up and the 20 year old male twit working the counter calls you "Hon".

    Would 'Babe' have been better?

As predicted we are having a very short Spring and heading into summer this week. Wednesday will be about 90*, hmm 4 days ago our high was 41* and it was sleeting.

The last two days were lovely and we have today in the 70's too - major thunderstorms on Friday.

I struggled to keep up with Bugsy on our 1/2 mile walk today. And he returned to the super slow, sniff each blade of grass walk once I turn him around and say let's go home. Such a turd.

The air is a lovely light green today, the pine pollen has finally been released, Achoo!!

Monday. Ugh... great choice of mine to decide to make up my cancelled session from last week at 7 AM after a weekend of flyball.

Every time I go to a tournament with my team, I end up thinking I really need to go to another team. Why can't my dog just be able to catch a ball from any box so I can just switch him somewhere and start running?

    I prefer "Sugar".

    how about 'sweet thing'? lol

I'm on the phone with the surgeon that did B's surgery and they are laughing because of the way Bugsy is preventing us from doing the range of motion exercises. He is truly a turd. Big Smile

IMO, "hon" or "sugar" is far better than ma'am. Way to make a chick feel old, call her ma'am. Hmm

I just put up pictures of Luke caught in the net.

I need to go out to my car, grab my paperwork and finish it so I can mail it off, otherwise I won't get paid.

David laughs at me -- I **hate** being called any cutsie names like that.  i am NOT *your* honey, sugar.  I hate it when females or males do it.  I used to work with a woman who called EVERYONE "honey-bunzles".  (excuse me whilst I vomit).

Tina -- never move to the deep South -- the weather may be "better" but **everyone** sir/ma'am's everyone.  When I was 30 and came down to Pensacola to go 'back' to college it was REQUIRED to address everyone as sir/ma'am.  I'm from the North -- up there it's considered being a "smart aleck".   The first Christmas I went home and a "yes, ma'am" slipped out to my Mother I thot she was going to slap me (I am serious -- she was THAT angered by what she perceived to be sarcasm).

I really hate it when people say "Yes, dear."  It's like fingernails on a chalkboard!

The first time someone called me "Miss Marty"  after we moved to the South, I just wanted to laugh until someone explained that it was considered more polite for a child to say that, than just call you by your first name.  Of course in the North, children were taught to say "Mrs. L..."

Callie - so true about northern states using ma'm more as sarcasm than politeness.  I am more concerned about the tone of voice when people called me hon, or dear, or Miss.  The quickest way to get my feathers ruffled is to call me any of those terms in a condescending or talking down to manner.  I don't like being called just by my last name though.  It makes me flash back to school and how often I got called to the principals office Confused
