It is awful weather here - pouring rain and mid-40's
The kind of weather that Bugsy LOVES to go outside and roam in so of course he kept asking out. We kept saying no and honestly we reverted to avoiding him. (which isn't hard as he can't do stairs yet).
Eventually DH caved and went out for a wander with him. DH head down, suited up in a goretex jacket with the hood up, trudging along, Bugsy at his side, tail wagging, oblivious to the weather and DH's plight. It was quite a sight.
Bugsy kept him out there for over 20 minutes. I was secretly laughing and watching from the warm, dry and toasty indoors.
I go greet both of them with towels. I carefully toweled off Bugsy because he usually gets way too excited about the towel and an insane game begins. It worked and he got only minimally excited.
Then we were inside, I was chatting to DH and then BAM! Crazy eyes!! Tail tucked!! Scooby scamble to begin!!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
More crazy eyes and a body taut and ready to zoom! (wet pawed, orthopedically challenged dogs should not zoom on slick floors)
DH & I talked in a monotone and moved ever.so.slowly. I instructed DH to very, VERY carefully walk to the treat area and put something in a kong. I instructed Bugsy to sit! Down! Both of which he did but the crazy eyes remained, it was such a hysterical look he had but I couldn't laugh or all hell would break loose.
Still moving ever so slowly DH handed me the kong which I carefully laid down. And said OK.
Whew! He did pounce on it and he did run around the living room with it but he did not zoom.
We both had a good laugh afterward at ourselves.
Bugsy is one crazy dog. And he sure has us trained LOL
