The train thing, I imagine being the conductor in those cases has to be horrible.
I hope I don't get the horrible flu. The last time I had the flu, it was the horrible swine flu. First I thought I was going to die because of dehydration and vomiting up even water. Then I wished I could die because I was having a dystonic reaction to tamiflu. I think I've mentioned this before. I went to CVS and had my flu shot last month.
So, I was looking at pictures from the weight pull yesterday. I'm thinking I want to try Luke on a cart some time soon. Maybe on the 23rd, I think they'll have a cart out for open gym, and I can just get someone to push it even if he just attempts the pull. At the pull this weekend, they did have a smaller cart for the smaller dogs. He was doing half his body weight flat dragging last week. I think he might be able to do the small cart, but I'd have to work him on a cart in practice where I can use food, so he doesn't get smart to their being no food when he's on the cart. He's been using a skateboard for the green dog pulls. Callie can't do a qualifying pull for her weight. Luke is at a crappy weight in terms of a qualifying pull for a title. He's 14 and a few ounces. If I understand correctly, the qualifying minimum is 12x body weight. That's 168 for him. The cart weighs 75, and I think the increments for his size would be 45. I'm not sure because they had no dogs entered in the under 20 class in November, so I am reading this based on the 40lb class. I don't think they have smaller cement blocks anyway. For him, that's 168. Just 3lbs over the increment, and he'd have to go to 210, 15x his weight. If I dropped him to just under 14, the qualifying weight is 156. He was 14.1 at the vet last week. It may have to be till next season, because the season only runs until March 31, and I think there are only 2 pulls in this area till then, but it's frustrating to realize how a few ounces could make such a difference.
