    Just another manic Monday chat

Wow, the weekend flew by!  And, now, back to the grind.  Altho, MY grind will seem much simpler this week with my co-worker back.

Off to be productive.  Have a great day all!

Went to a potluck on Saturday. Deb, I made the glazed carrots you posted the recipe for and they were a hit. There were exactly 3 baby carrots left in the dish that I took home.

DS is moving back home. It's a very long story, but his roommate is nuts, and it's a bad situation for someone who wants to improve his life. Just goes to show that you don't really know your friends until you live with them. Oh, and that mom is still smarter than the 24 y.o. boy wonder.Indifferent

Tina, that's too bad.  I would never live with a couple of my friends even if I needed too.  It would be a bad combination.

This weekend was a calamity of errors.  The worst of which is our new dining room table arrived with a big chunk of it damaged on the leaf portion.  We're in the process of trying to get the company to exchange it.  The chair were all fine.  I really hope they won't put up a fight and we can get a replacement table delivered in time for Christmas.  On a positive note, the color of the table was really nice and much better looking than just seeing it online.  Love the chairs too.

I baked several dozen cookies this weekend for work and for one batch set the timer to 10 HOURS instead of MINUTES.  Yeah, 2 dozen burnt cookies does not smell good.  Whoops!  I also ended up with a bad migraine on Saturday, first one in about a month.

Here's to hoping this week is a touch better than my weekend lol.

Tina, at least he gave it a shot. Bummer that it didn't work out

My fever is gone. Yay. It got up to 102 yesterday. I felt like death. I have never thrown up so much in my life. Bright side, I lost 6 lbs ;p please send no more puking vibes if you have them to spare :)

I'm always sort of bummed when I decide not to go to the weight pulls. I know Callie probably wouldn't have enjoyed it in the mud and rain, and Luke is just now starting to do it for me, so that wouldn't have been a good time and place to work him. It's too far for me to go just to watch. There will be one in January and February where we train at, so I'll have to go to those for at least a little bit. Maybe I'll have a dog who is ready to compete in one of those. I might have to test Luke out soon and see if he'll try the cart.

I'm waiting to see if I am going to a pot luck flyball tournament on New Year's Eve. I have two chances I could go, either if Luke's team gets in, then I will obviously be taking him. I also told a team mate I could run one of her dogs if the team she is on gets in, except for the race they would be against each other if they both get in. Hopefully one of our teams gets in, otherwise I have to just sit around all day until it's time to go to my friend's party. I have no clue what to bring if I am going. Some of the people might be coming from farther away than me, so I could more easily bring something hot. I don't know if it's supposed to be each person bringing something, or the team bringing something, which I suppose will be clarified. Again, if Luke's team is in, I am the person coming from the closest place. I think everyone else has to be at least two hours away, if not more, as where I'm only an hour.

Tina, sorry to hear your DS is moving back in but if it keeps him out of trouble, it's for the best.  Send me Deb's glazed carrot recipe, please.

Julie, I'm sending you lots of no more puking vibes.  What a terrible way to spend the weekend.  Feel better.

Sharon, that totally sucks about your new table. :(  I hope they get you a replacement ASAP.

Hope everyone else is doing ok and that Karen is feeling better too.  I guess she can't be too sick if she made it to Kohls this weekend. :)

It's cold and windy here and we're getting our first freeze tonight.  Must pick lemons today after work.  I keep saying I'm going to do it but keep forgetting.

I wore a turtle neck to work today.  I bought it at Kohls a few weeks ago and this is the first time I wore it.  I remember the reason I never wear turtle necks.  I can't stand the feeling of something around my throat.

Definite no more puking vibes for you Julie.

Why the heck does AutismNJ feel it appropriate to charge $10 per credit hour for CEUs, in addition to the conference or workshop fee, when many other organizations don't charge any extra? All they have to do, or at least here in PA, they verify that you were there the whole time by putting a code up on the screen at the end, then you take your form, and you have someone sign off on it. It does not cost them $60 a person for the day to offer that, or even half that. My credits for my teaching degree have to be entered in an online system by the conference host, and they give me those for free too in PA. So, if they have 100 people at a conference getting credits, which would not be unheard of, they are making another $6000 on that. It's absolutely ludicrous.

Me too !  I also can't stand anything around my wrists - so my shirt sleeves are always either rolled up or pushed up.

Tina. . .. . . .hopefully you'll be having one of these before too long

Julie definitely sending no more puking vibes - the few hours I spent doing that on Sat morning was plenty for a LONG time!!

Tina sorry to hear about your DS

Jackie I wouldn't have been at Kohl's but my mom wanted to go and spent all day Saturday on her own so I felt guilty. I do feel much better but still really weak and sleepy. DH had planned a roast dinner for mom last night and we had a huge roast so we invited the neighbors to join us. It was a great time but gosh I didn't really want to eat never mind entertain. The cutest thing is that B spent all day Saturday at my side and last night I washed up and hit the sack. About 15 minutes after I crawled into bed he popped the door open and collapsed on his bed next to me :)

I am trying to not panic but I have a LOT to do and no energy. Hoping mom can run some errands to take that off my mind

Oh, Julie!!  That's terrible!!  Calm stomach and no more puking vibes coming from here!  Oh man!

Tina I'm sorry your mutual independence was short-lived.  Hope your son finds something else soon.

This morning on the way to work, my timing was off and I got caught in the middle of the school bus schedule.  UGH.  Except today all I had to stop for was one little boy coming from across the road lugging his backpack and a large musical instrument - cello-sized case.  I thought, aww, how cute.  Then I looked up his driveway and saw his beautiful Golden Retriever sitting perfectly on the hill of his front yard, watching his boy drive away in the school bus.  AAAawww!  It was like a hallmark moment!

You might as well set me up now. I'm going to need a few to get through having him back. I also had to postpone the orgy I was throwing to celebrate having the house to myself.

You're a better woman than me.  No amount of guilt would get me out shopping if I didn't feel good.  Hope you feel better soon.  So sweet about Bugsy sticking with you.  How is your bro's house coming along?

How is your bro's house coming along?

better than my presentation for Monday LOL

I 'hear' that its moving along - they were able to get a loan to help defray costs and got an insurance payout (incomplete) to keep things moving along. They also bought a small RV but not sure when they are moving into that - as per usual with them they don't seem in a hurry Tongue Tied I can tell my mom is dreading going back - what an awful position to be in. I do like hearing her say over and over what an angel B is............all about perspective hahaha

    oye - must.get.back. to .work

did I mention that the goofy person who contacted me about coaching starts tomorrow? Yet another interesting twist in my week

eta that B is once again right at my side snoring. :)

Oh and for those that haven't seen it I posted about some rescue in NZ training dogs to drive .............really

Speaking of recipes, Jackie - didn't you make some kind of lemon cake for Thanksgiving ?  I need to bring a dessert for a party we are going to, and don't want anything chocolate or pumpking or apple.  Can you e-mail or PM me your recipe whenever you have a chance ?

    Thanks!

Luke's holiday cards are out for delivery. I didn't get too many this year. I think I just got like, 25. Enough for everyone on the exchange list here, and a few more for the couple of other people I will bother to send a card too. My mom got cards from my niece's holiday pictures to send out to other people, so I didn't need as many. I just have to decide who other than the people on the exchange list are getting his cards.

I need to edit my signature, to include Luke's flyball titles, but I have no clue what I would have saved the file as. I also need to get to work on getting something for Callie. I know she'd be good in agility, but agility intimidates me. I might try her in Rally. Any flyball  titles for her are a while off. Might be able to get a weight pull title on her soon if I can get her to stop freaking out.
