The first Trader Joes opened here yesterday. I read in the paper that the line of cars, from both directions, was insanely long and backed up for blocks and blocks. The store was packed according to the article and will probably remain that way for weeks and weeks. I'm looking forward to going, but I'm not waiting in line for a grocery store, no matter how cool and quirky it may be. All I could think of, as I read the article, was the people waiting in line for hours and hours for gas and rations.
Lunch was delicious.
I had duck confit hash and my friend had fish and chips. Both were excellent, if pricey. I got to meet her new dog, Perry, after lunch, and he's so cute. He's a five year old Cairn mix and a sweetie. We introduced him to the clicker and it was slow going. He strikes me as a dog who didn't have much chance to learn how to learn. He's just getting settled in after three weeks with her and she said he rarely shows much emotion of any kind. Hopefully he'll gradually start to feel more confident and be able to show his personality.
Off to make something to eat for dinner. Something easy. :)
