Tuesday Chat with Sandy Storm Check-In

SO many good vibes going to everyone affected. My girlfriend in Jersey checked in this morning saying they still didn't have power/heat, but were safe and warm. TAKE CARE!!!!

it's like a bowl of rice crispies here. everything's going snap crackle and pop. lost power at around 2 last night. have about 8 to 10 inches of snow. the trees are decimated. snapping under the weight of ice and snow. finally got the generator running after having to heat it up with warm dishrags. will try to clean satalite dish on roof to get reception. other than that, nice and cozy here. dogs love the snow!! take care all.

In Western MA we're fine.  Lots of power outages in the immediate area, but the fates smiled on us and left ours in tact.

DH didn't come home until 4AM and has to get up soon and go back to the station.  Poor guy.

I got a text from Deb this morning that they're ok.  Scary night for her and of course many others.  She said to let everyone know that Kate in RI is ok too.

We have quite the ice storm going on here. I am glad I don't have to go into the office today and more glad that I have power.

Wow, Julie, we only have rain. For now.

Thanks for the update on Deb & Kate, Jackie.

Glad you are okay, too, Glenda and Rufftie.

Lisa, I thought of you last night when I was watching the news and the reporter was talking about the skyscrapers in NYC swaying. Glad you are on the ground floor in Warren today.

It's pretty tame here by comparison, though I understand the eastern shore of Michigan, on Lake Huron, is a bit of a mess.

Good to hear that Deb and Kate are ok.  I have a "spare" son in Queens who I haven't heard from so hoping that he is ok.

Saw on the news a bit ago that parts of WVA could get 30 inches of snow.  Unreal.

Thanks for the update Jackie - I couldn't stop thinking about Deb last night and all the fires. The rain finally stopped this morning and its just really windy. Poor Riley was so update because she's afraid she won't be able to go trick or treating because of the weather. We have assured her that we will go no matter what.

Same here.  I've been so worried about everyone in this mess.

We are all fine here.  Never did lose power.

In RI, over 111,000 have no power just now.  Still catching up on all the mess and devastation (slept really LATE, lol this morning).

So glad everyone is safe and sound so far.  Anyone heard from Jen...or Annie ?

Gosh I am just incredulous - all my family and friends on LI are without power, looks like it may be a week - also without phones and told to boil water. Over 900,000 without power. My brother's house is toast - just listened to a guy talking to a news reporter about the town my brother lives in.

Humans have almost all checked in - one cousin's town was in trouble this morning being evacuated after it flooded over night and was due to get worse this morning. Another cousin I haven't heard from - of course without electric its tough Sad Keep sending vibes folks - if you aren't familiar with NYC and surrounding areas it is truly difficult to imagine how many people this impacts.

Glad that Deb & Kate have checked in

edit to add that Annie has check in on FB and is fine

Annie posted on FB that they're ok.  They had been traveling but made it home just in time.

Glad to hear folks are ok!  Where I live in NH, there's some power outages in nearby towns, and my coworker had a tree hit her house.  My town it was like a storm never happened.  We had rain, a little bit of wind but that's about it.

Sorry to hear about your brother's house Karen Sad At least he's ok.  Stuff is replaceable, people not so much.  I hope everyone's loved ones are ok, particular where the storm hit the hardest.
