Finally Friday Chat!

    Finally Friday Chat!

The good thing - it's Friday.  The bad thing - I have a crazy day ahead of me and I'm thinking I'll be earning some comp time today.  I also couldn't sleep last night thinking about a few major scheduling issues that I need to get worked out today.  I wish you could tell your brain, if you sleep you'll be better able to figure out solutions but at 2 am one's mind is apparently irrational.  'Tis why coffee was invented!  I have an extra large hot pumpkin coffee from Dunkin Donuts at hand.  Mmmmmmm

This week has been 50 then 70 then 50 again with storms thrown in. I love the warmer weather but it plays havoc on my sinuses.

I finally started watching Dexter. Wow it's good! Why are all the morally wrong shows the most interesting? Lol something is wrong with that.

LOL I didn't watch that show for awhile because I thought, how in the world could a show about a serial killer be good.  Well, it definitely is!  I'm behind a season (or 2 maybe) and this reminds me to get caught up!

Thanks, Deb. You know, here in Michigan we have so little to hope for other than our 2 largest cities making the top of the "highest murder rate" list, it's nice to have a little something positive going on.

Beautiful day today.  Bright sunshine, cool temps this morning with a nice warm up this afternoon.  We're hoping to get away to the beach tomorrow.  Twister loves to chase the shore birds but stops short when they fly out over the water.  Twister doesn't like getting wet above the knees which is pretty shallow water when you're Twister's size. lol

Hope everyone has a great day and a great weekend. :)

     Baby elephants are soooooooooooo cute!

Bugsy walked nearly a mile without a limp today. Doesn't sound like much but he is clearly feeling better than he has since Spring or so. Poor dog has been in pain for quite some time it appears. I posted this elsewhere but I am so impressed with his swimming now, check out the speed he was at yesterday Big Smile He swam about 900 yds total  LINK

Went out for a run on my own and one of the neighborhood people that adopted a pup last year but haven't done a thing with her was out walking her. The poor dog is super high energy and gets a short walk and not much else so she insane - Tasmanian devil insane. True to form she went berserk when I tried to say hello, and it was the mom not the usual dad walking her. Mom always seems irritated to be out with her.

So devil dog slips the prong collar and has no other collar on. Well good gracious that pup was pleased to be finally running free. She was running like a fool no way anyone is catching her so I notice a car coming - the mom turns toward home and says she'll follow me Surprise So I stop the car (25MPH zone and we were nearly at a stop sign) and am finally able to at least pin the dog down so the person could continue. The owner is still walking home as if the dog is following and the pup is still beyond joyful to be running free. I finally got the pup to follow me to their home where despite being offered a biscuit she was still running around like a silly girl. I of course was happy to see her happy and at this point safe. Mom wasn't too happy. Poor pup Sad I have mentioned to the Dad a zillion times that she NEEDS to run. Sigh

    apologies for the long story

    Very glad its Friday!

Just got a text from my step-mom that instantly ticked me off.

Apparently we (as a family I guess) are having a "mandatory" dinner/meeting on Sunday @ 5 at a place over an hour from where I live.  Her message did not say anything to the effect of "hey does this time/place work for you" or "are you free on Sunday" or anything like that.  And if she has paid attention at all she should know that Sunday evenings are not good for us b/c usually we are picking up Hannah from her mother's at that time.  Plus, perhaps its petty, but I resent being told that I *will* be doing something.  There was also no indication in the message as to what this is about.  Maybe if we were close it wouldn't bother me so much, but we're not.  Or maybe if it had been worded differently, or perhaps if I wasn't already in a less than stellar mood.

At any rate, griping about it did make me feel a little better.  What's today's drink? Wink

While I see absolutely nothing wrong with a nice, long make-out session with Jamison, this woman takes it a little too far. Ick!

    LOL very true.

And my temptation was to respond w/ "what happens if I don't?" but figured I would come up with a less argumentative answer later.  This happens to be the weekend that we have Hannah, so *IF* DH's father doesn't come to help us finish our bathroom renovation on Sunday we can make it work.  I'm just feeling resentful that we're being told, not asked.  And if his dad is coming down, then yea, we're not making it, getting our shower back is going to take priority.

Yay - TGIF!! Now that I don't work Fridays, I love them even more.

That baby elephant video made me cry too.

70s today and tomorrow and then a pretty drastic change starts. Our temps will drop and we'll be getting some rain. This will be the 1st measurable rain we've had in many months. I guess it's time to put some patio stuff away and that always makes me feel sad.

    Whoa Bugsy....look at you go!

It is the annual Craft Weekend in NWA.  There will be lots and lots of traffic as crafters and venders come from all over.   It just gets bigger and bigger each year.    It is the War Eagle Mill festival.  It is a working mill way back in the hills.  They clear all the pastures set up tents park miles and miles of cars for a 4 day weekend of hand made crafts.  There are others throughout the area but this one is the best and the first.  http://www.wareaglemill.com/historymyst.html
