Wednesday Chatting

    Wednesday Chatting

It's a foggy drizzly morning here.  I hate driving in the fog!  Supposed to be close to 90 F today.

DH had a crown replaced yesterday but it didn't go well as the new crown didn't fit right and has to be redone.  Naturally he bit the inside of his cheek when he was numbed up.

Not really.....just another bland work day, but, got everyones attention at least!

We might get a bit of sunshine today (I could never deal with the Pacific NW) and almost 60 degrees.  Right now it's mid 30's so a tad on the chilly side.

Doing another job fair for the boss on Friday and hopefully we'll find at least one more good sales rep.  Of course that means I'll spend a week training them, but, that's ok.  At least they'll be trained right and if s/he is good, will take a bit of pressure off the rest of us.

OK, off to get ready.  Have a great day everyone!

Ouch for Mr. Jackie - hope he can get that fixed up ASAP. I am working from home today with a major headache. My former dance teacher passed away on Monday so the funeral thing is today and tomorrow. She was amazing and I spent most of my youth and teen years there. She danced on Broadway as well as with Sammy Davis Jr. She taught me discipline, commitment, and "how to sell it". She was an amazing, if not a little psycho, woman and she will be missed. She was sick for a very very long time so it is a blessing that she passed away in her sleep at home.

     Ouch Mr. Jackie!

Lisa I am sorry about the passing of your mentor. I saw your post on FB. You were fortunate to have her in your life AND to appreciate what she brought to you. Godspeed to her!

I bet the Tigers win tonight will cure your headache LOL

other than that, I've got nothing

Another day of hitting the ground running. Trying to find someone to come out and service a well at one of our restaurants. The company that dug it is out of business. Water is intermittently brown and the health department can shut us down. Ugh.

Heat wave today - it might hit 65-70 degrees.

Jackie, I hope your DH's crown is fixed soon. I know how much fun dental problems are.

Lisa, I'm sorry for the loss of your mentor. She obviously made a lifelong impression on you.

Back to the crap. I can't seem to print more than one invoice out of my email before the stupid system locks up. Someday this will all work, then we'll ugrade again. Confused

Thanks Karen! It's funny when I realize my closest friends came from that dance studio - which is no wonder since I spent so many hours there - but it never seemed too much or I didn't want to go. I spent so many hours sitting/laying on the floor in the common area doing homework, talking about boys, being silly - thank you Charmaine. http://www.faulmannwalsh.com/book-of-memories/1374504/Schick-Charmaine/obituary.php

I don't think they are going to win tonight. But I do think they will win the series now. If they don't I think Todd's head will explode LOL

OK totally my fault.........Monday I gave Bugsy a raspberry, he sniffed it (while still in my hand) and was like nah. Yesterday while I was putting them on my yogurt he came up and wanted one, gave it to him and he loved it- needed more! Today I give him one he carefully takes it to the carpet (that I steam cleaned on Saturday) and plays with it making red mush on the carpet. Really?? sigh

Lisa the Yankees haven't any chance of winning anything - which I thought all season. However I thought it was our pitching that wasn't up to it. Boy was I wrong, the pitching has been outstanding throughout the Baltimore and Detroit series. It is very difficult to win games when you average less than a run a game though Hmm I'd be more upset if I had actually thought they could win but since I was surprised they won their division, more surprised they beat Baltimore and knew we would get thumped. Now the Tigers better go on and win the series! The World Series that is

Tina, sorry the computer upgrade is not going well.

Lisa, I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your dance mentor.

There was a half grown cat in the yard at work this morning.  Ruger almost got it and he doesn't like cats. Sad  It's a friendly little thing and is now sitting in Twister's crate waiting for the AC gal to come and get it.  The crate is in another part of the building so Ruger can't harass it.  The little shelter here in the small town where I work has become practically no kill so I feel sure she'll find a home for this kitty.

I watched about five minutes of the debate last night.  Same old same old.  Did either of them ever answer a question straightforwardly? That's a rhetorical question. lol  I am so tired of my brother's FB posts about politics and I have to just skim on past or risk saying something I might regret.  I realize that everyone is entitled to promote their candidate of choice but some of the garbage on FB is just too much.

Lisa sorry about the passing of your dance instructor. It sounds like she was a unique personality.

Tina, that sucks about the water! Hope you get it worked out quickly.

We were up until 3 a.m. last night and the dogs kept pacing around the house which kept waking me up. They didn't know what to do with themselves because they wanted to sleep with my house guests but usually sleep with me. They are goofy like that. Anyway, I am exhausted. Glad I took the day off today.

We went and saw Sinister last night. Omg, that was the scariest movie I think I have ever seen. The beginning was a bit cheesy. It started out almost like every other scary movie: a family moving into a new house. But then it just got freaky. We almost couldn't watch the whole thing. Good writing and acting. And the sound crew had all the sounds dead on *shudder* i highly recommend seeing this movie :)

You should really drink your dinner after any dental procedure.

I have to go to the dentist tomorrow. I've been anxious about it all week. Thanks. Yesterday I got up at 5:58 and needed to leave at 6:15. Today I got up at 4:00. At least I did get back to sleep.

My tv had volume during the commercials just now, but then it went off as soon as the show came on.

I just ripped a tshirt I really like. Apparently, you can't get that one anymore. A few weeks ago, I got a hole in another one that can't be replaced. I think Callie did the other shirt in. Now I'm sad, But,  in a little bit, I am going to get some gravel from the fishtank where I worked years ago, and finally putting fish in my tank. Then maybe I'll be happier, or maybe I won't. I was happy that my hose from the backyard did reach all the way in to fill up the tank after I took out most of the water.

Lisa, sorry to hear about your dance instructor. She sounds like a very interesting person. Your mentioning hanging around there kind of reminded me of hanging around at some of the martial arts places I went to. I went to three, the first and last places, those were definitely my second home at times.

Lisa - so sorry about the passing of your music teacher but it sounds like she left a very positive part of herself behind and will be remembered fondly.

I feel your pain Karen. I woke up at 5 AM to the sound of Shane throwing up. It was just one small area but I still needed to get up right away and clean it up. We just had our carpets cleaned a few weeks ago and I can't help but think the protection I had them apply really helped. It was a much easier task than usual but still not my favorite way to start the day. This was the 1st time that Shane has ever gotten sick and I can only assume that the massive amount of treats I fed him through the board meeting was the cause.

Normally Tuesday is my busiest day and since I was tied up in the meeting all day, I didn't get anything done, so today will be rough. I hope I can at least make a big dent in the piles.

Lisa, so sorry to hear about your dance mentor.

Today it's sunny out and the wind has died down some.  Chilly enough though that I had to scrape my car windows though!  I can't get over the fact that it is mid-October already - just doesn't seem right.

I'm waiting for some coffee to brew.  Trying to cut back.  Yesterday I did the dumb thing of not having any coffee and paid for it with a very very bad headache by the end of the day.  This time of the year though every place has pumpkin coffee or lattes out and I love them.  So, I've gone a bit overboard lately with the caffeine intake!  Must go look up the word willpower....

Lisa I am sorry to hear about your mentor.  It was my dream to dance, I still love it.  We just didnt have a place close to home so it was gymnastics and cheer at school for me.   I have just a handful of women in my youth and adulthood that made a huge difference in my life so this loss for you is one I can certainly understand.  Prayers to you, her family and all of her former students as you say goodbye.

We are going to be very windy and a cold front is coming in today...Ron has to be away from the house this afternoon so I left him a note to give the boys scaredy dog pills and leave them in the house cause we are supposed to have storms.

Well I am not a financial genius but the lady at the bank explained why they couldnt do what I wanted and it made some sense, I guess.  I will just have to rethink my plan a little before going forward.  Thanks for all your good vibes.  I am one that believes things happen for a reason so I am not really too disappointed cause I know the reason will soon be clear.

Jackie, hate to hear about Mr. Jackies crown....(hope there is not a whole lot of whinning Wink )

Got to get busy have a great day all,

BTW...note to Bugsy... dont eat the berries on the carpet please!

Did you rent it? I love scary movies and it's been a very long time since I've seen a really good one.

We're supposed to hit a high of 90 today but by next Tuesday, our high will be 65. That is going to feel very cold. It will give me a chance to wear something different. I wore my new riding boots yesterday, even though it was a warm day, and got a lot of compliments on them. I really, really love them. Big Smile
