I have already given B a valerian because he is full of the devil and gimpy. night, night Bugsy LOL

I have a ginormous fruit tart in my fridge, who wants some??

Pray for me, DH is off this week, he has a ton of comp time to take, and as usual he has no real plans.

I have a mandatory webinar to attend today - I swear if you think meetings are bad, webinars are freaking awful!!

OK weird thought prompted because i just looked up and Judi Dench was petting a little Jack Russell on the Today Show - I hope I can be as elegant as Judi Dench when I'm in my 70's (should I live that long) She just seems awesome

 Blah... Back during the olympics, my tv was going silent on commercials, only on NBC. That was fine. Now it's going silent on the actual shows, on ABC. Maybe it does this on other channels, and it doesn't do it all the time on ABC. Yeah, I can't afford a new tv.

Karen - does the Valerian help calm Bugsy down? I have some here and might try it for tomorrow's board meeting if you think it would help. Maybe you could give your hubby some too? ;)

My DH just left for work but before he did, he took Shane for a walk. He's so good about doing stuff like that, even when it's o'dark thirty and he needs to get ready for work. You'd think that Shane would be calmer after a walk but he's still full of himself .

Save me some of the tart, Karen. :)  I made a chicken pot pie last night and it was delicious. Sorry to hear more bad weather is in store.  Night, night, Bugsy.

Better get busy and get to work now.

The dog I had at flyball practice yesterday, I would never run him in a tournament. The other team would. GAH! Of course, the performance at Saturday's demo, I would run with that performance.

I worked for Air Force Reserve Medical Recruiting many yrs ago and we got to attend the balloon festival and even had a balloon there that we got to go up in. It was an amazing experience, although the landing was dicier than I'd have liked. The special shapes balloons are the best and they have one evening when only those go up. It was one of the best times I'd ever had

I haven't stopped drinking since Derek Jeter broke his ankle.

Tina that is just cruel ()...........honestly I didn't think the Yankees would play well enough to win anyway but without Jeter we have no soul. I think he is a tremendous example of one of the good guys in sports AND an all time great in his sport. I always worry that an injury like this one at his age will be the end of an amazing career. I hope he fully recovers

Cathy I have used valerian root to help me sleep and it does help. It clearly makes B sleepy and I use it for storms but he is so unsettled during the day without his morning exercise and he needs to rest so its a reasonable option. I intend on keeping him dosed all day in an attempt to get him some decent rest.

I have also gotten DH to take some when work is making him super stressed. He of course said it did nothing but he was less agitated

DH has taken Valerian for sleep and thought it helped too. I'd not considered using it to calm Shane down before but it might be helpful sometimes. I plan to keep him really busy today, so hopefully he'll be calm tomorrow. He just LOVES meeting new people but once they settle down, he usually does too. If only I could train the visitors not to squeal in high pitched voices when they talk to him or even talk to him at all when he's barking back at them

I had a freshly baked blueberry scone this morning, but I could find room for a piece of fruit tart, since your sharing Karen!  And speaking of fruit --- from yesterday, Kate, your Macoun apple pie sounded delicious.  That's my favorite apple!  The Pacific NW has a gazillion farms and orchards with every kind of fruit and veggie known to man, but no Macoun apples.  I'm only able to enjoy them when I go home to CT to visit!

Bummer about your car, Jen.  Hope it's nothing too expensive.

I need to get some Valerian -- there are times when Ruby could use some calming assistance, that's for sure (and it might help with my occasional sleeping trouble).

I agree about Judi Dench, Karen.  She's an inspiration for how to age gracefully.  I love all her work.  In fact, I was just watching an "As Time Goes By" reunion on PBS last night.  I'd seen it before, but I recorded it a few weeks ago and wanted to watch it again.  She's a wonderful actress and always so gracious when she's interviewed.
