    Wed chat

Yay for hump day. I am debating riding the bus to work this winter. I dislike busses but there's one that goes right by my house and right by my office plus work would pay for the rider fees. It would save on gas and parking (that's the biggy). I don't like the schedule much though. Pick up at 8:05 (I don't get up till 8) and drop off at 8:40 (I don't start till 9). Based on that alone, I prob won't do it. That is all I have so far today. My brain isn't awake yet.

A chilly and rainy day here. SInbad has his chiro/acu appointment this afternoon. We are seeing a new doctor today, because his other one is having a baby. Mozey and Sinbad are both loving the cooler weather, as am I.

Has anyone seen the theatre production of Sister Act? It's part of the Broadway series here this year, and I think I might try to go.

Hugs for all who need them.

Yucky weather here as well.  Really way too early to have to drag out all the sweaters, etc, but I've been wearing them for the past couple weeks.  The chill is nice, the rain is not.  I may sound like Corky by the end of the day!  Quack, quack!!

Skies have finally cleared here WAHOO! there is a sun!

Still cool temps but as long as there sun it warms up fast - in the 70's today after not seeing much over 50 in the last few drizzly days

I wasn't feeling like it but I took B to the lake this morning - boy was I glad I did - FABULOUS sunrise on the lake

off and running, Wednesday's always start with a sprint!

I am unbelievably ticked off right now for thinking adults would act as such, men could not be that stupid, and at myself for not going the one extra anal-retentive step to ensure that I wouldn't have to deal with the BS this morning over something that was so simple. Angry

Deb, thank god you're back. A stiff drink is in order.

Not so stiff, but in honor of National Angel Food Cake Day:

    Angel Food Cake Martini

    • 1 1/2 oz. Vanilla Liqueur
    • 2 oz. Pineapple Juice
    • 2 oz. 7-Up or Sprite

Mix together over ice and shake until frothy. Strain into a cocktail glass and enjoy. Garnish with a dallop of whipped cream and a strawberry, if desired.

My normal 20 minute commute turned into an hour and a half ride this morning due to one of those trailers that carrys new cars being on fire and all the cars too.  Not a good way to start the morning.

Mumsie and Pop are driving up to see their eye doctor later so I'm going to meet them for dinner - so that should be nice at least.

Karen, I'm glad you've finally got some sunshine and that you and Bugsy had a good time on the lake. :)

Tina, have some chocolate and three of those wussy drinks. lol  Hope your day improves soon.

Twister had bloodwork done and all looks good. Big Smile He'll get checked again next week and the week after he has one more CBC and another chemo treatment if the bloodwork continues to look good.  I'm so happy that he only had one day of throwing up and that was very minor.  He's feeling great!

While I was waiting for the results of the blood work a guy walked in with two Min Schnauzers.  One under each arm and no leash on either dog. Angry The moment he walked in the door, both dogs started barking their heads off and one of them leaped out of his arms and started straight for Twister who was sitting quietly next to me.  Luckily I was able to block the Schnauzer and the guy managed to grab him.  I was proud of Twister for not reacting in any way other than to stand up and look at me.  On the way out of the clinic, an older man and woman were trying to unload two dogs.  One got loose and came running toward us.  The dog was obviously friendly and I grabbed his leash and held him until the man could make his way to us.  Made for a fairly exciting visit.  Thank goodness this wasn't Belle because it probably wouldn't have gone as well. :(

Ugh Jackie - I know all too well how that kind of vet trip can go. With Sassy it was always a stressful event but Shane is more like Twister and it makes it so much easier. I'm super glad that Twister tolerated the treatment so well and his bloodwork looks good.

My MIL dropped off some fruit last night and had her JRT with her, so I suggested letting Ziggy and Shane meet. Ziggy can be fearful and reactive but she did pretty good and Shane was perfect. He's just timid enough around dogs like that and he keeps things very calm. I think they could be friends if given the chance.

Karen - I drooled over your sunrise picture on the lake. What a great way to start the day, especially for Bugsy.

Deb and Tina - sorry about your crappy starts to the day. Hope it gets better for both of you.

Chilly morning but bright and sunny and will be high 70s later. I couldn't ask for more perfect weather.

Adding my cheers for Twister's good report, too!  Glad you avoided any "incidents" at the vet, despite the hectic surprises of the other dogs.

Julie, if you took the bus and got to work earlier, could you make arrangements to go home earlier?  That might be another benefit, in addition to the savings on parking/gas.

Tina, I hope your day improves.  Dealing with the stresses of a job would be manageable if they were limited to things under our control, such as prioritizing and organizing ourselves to meet deadlines, for example.  But the stresses that push one over the edge to where you want to scream, hit someone, or quit are things that OTHER people do because of their own stupidity, disorganization, carelessness, lack of consideration, and other things that you can't control, yet that affect you directly.  It's maddening!

Deb, when I commuted on I-95 between CT and NY, it seemed like there was a traffic jam due to a car fire once a month.  That was before there were cell phones, so we just sat in our cars and got to work late.  People already in the office knew something was up when a whole bunch of staff weren't there by 8am.

Another crisp morning, bright sun, 70 this afternoon.  One more day tomorrow, then the rain is arriving.  Booo!

Jackie it is great news so far about Twister!   WTG Twister keep up the good work and remind Belle how nice you are supposed to be when all the other doggies are being stooopid heads :)

Very busy here...hope everyone has a good evening

    Excellent update on Twister--yeah!!!

    • Gold Top Dog

Twister spent the afternoon hunting mice at the shop.  He is one tired but happy terrier!  I forgot that I'd left a bag of thistle seed on a shelf near the back door to the shop yard and the mice found it and chewed a hole in the bag.  Twister spotted one scurrying off and I had to practically drag him into the office.

We've got a doggie visitor for a few days.  We're keeping a friend's Weim while they're out of town.  He is Belle's BFF.  :)

Yeah for Twister! I was an hour late to work because of another headache. I think its time to see the doc about this. :( Fall is over and winter is here. Hello winter and good- bye fall.
