    Saturday chat

Beautiful day!! I am going to do a trail run and work in the yard. Bugsy's rehab was going nicely, a couple of swims and very short walks, allowing some wandering but putting a limit on it. Then a bit ago several hundred grackles landed in the yard while he was already out there (he was out front, they were in the back & side yard) He came around the side, saw black birds everywhere, turned on the jets and cleared them all off. Sigh. He sure did enjoy it though lol Have a great day!

Brr. It is cold and wet here

My plans today are up in the air. Msu football game, blues festival or dinner and a movie (bleh). I would rather do the football game or blues fest but it is supposed to rain all day. Dinner and a movie sounds like a snooze fest to me. There's no good movies showing.

No rain no rain no rain!

Julie, dinner and a movie sounds boring to me too. There are just so rarely any good movies out.

I have to work this afternoon, and we're doing some assessments. I wish it weren't going to be 85 this afternoon, because I might like to wear long sleeves and gloves. I have some expectation of being scratched during part of it. Maybe I will go with the gloves.  Getting my lazy butt out of bed and getting dressed would be another great idea for today. At least I have put my camera battery on the charger so it will be ready to go.

Overcast and gloomy here, but supposed to be in the 70's today.  I'm going to try to get a bit of yardwork done....like cutting back the lillies that finished 5 or 6 weeks ago. Embarrassed

The boss asked me to help with passing out papers today at one of the festivals, however, he was supposed to let me know this morning the when and where.  Almost noon and still waiting, so I'm guessing he changed his mind.

We are now into the Minnesota Possible Snow Season, bounded by the recorded earliest and latest snow falls. Last night, the weather man (a pox on his name) used the term "snow flakes" in his report. I have already pulled out some of the Carhartt to wear to work. Piper and I both seem to breath and work better in the cold, but there is something about getting out of warm blankets and putting the feet on a cold floor that is just unpleasant. We may have to close the windows soon, maybe wear long sleeves, and if it gets too bad, may have to turn on the furnace one of these weeks.

Duck hunting started this morning. A lot of the pot holes are dry this year, but you can hear the gunners al around our town. Going to be a lot of happy hunting dogs tonight.

    Happy first day of Fall!

LOL Karen!! Bugsy - you are gonna make your mom crazy!

Another gorgeous morning but I am starting to want a sweatshirt when I first get up. Still, high 80s for the next 7 days = happy me Big Smile

Yesterday my MIL dropped by a cantaloup, a huge watermelon and a few other things. She didn't think we were home but she's got a key and was just setting them inside the front door. I came around the corner and hear her saying "no Shane..no." but laughing and here he comes towards me carryng the cantaloupe in his mouth. We both cracked up at the silly boy.

Shut the windows? Lol i have already turned the furnace on. I think I am going to move in with cathy for the 80 degree weather ;p

I went to the gym for the first time in months this morning. Now I just want to take a nap. But I need to do the flurry clean thing because my brother and niece are coming for the football tix and my sister is coming out for dinner and the blues fest. The blues fest is outside and its only in the 50s. Hopefully it will still be enjoyable.

Can we reset the day to get more hours in?

Come on Julie. It's likely that it'll be like this at least through October. We're still needing to run the AC in the late afternoon but I'm not gonna complain.

I took a nap yesterday and then couldn't sleep last night. Now I'm sleepy and want a nap but don't want another bad night. Guess I'll try to workout and see if that perks me up.

Beautiful day here!  Sixties in the morning and high 80's in the afternoon with low humidity and sunshine.  Just got back from the farmer's market with my friend, her mom and sister.  Twister went along as did his half sister Chigger and the sister's little doxie mix.  Twister loves my friend and covered her in kisses every chance he got. lol The JRT's had a great time.  The little mix is a very fearful dog and she didn't enjoy it at all.  Twister is tired but happy.  My other dogs were not happy at being left at home.

    I'm ready for a nap. :)

Beat ya, Doug. We had some flurries on Tuesday. Crying

Silly Shane!! What a goof. I HAS A NOMMY BALL!!

A couple of weeks ago someone set up a Girls' Night Out event page on fb. I said maybe, then decided what the heck, I never go out. So I said I'd be there, and lined up my mom to get the kids to bed (DH was home but had to go to bed early because he gets up at 3:30 am for work.) I had a great time! I'm so glad I did it. I got to catch up with some old friends and tell them all about my Belize trip. Smile

     snow flurries..........YIKES!

LOL Shane, Bugsy sez cantaloupes are yummy!

It turned out kind of hot today - a few clouds have turned up to drop us back down to upper 80's, humid too. Count us too as good for most days from here through early Nov. to be sunny, dry and in the 80's. I love this time of year, even when we have a hard freeze at night it still usually gets to a minimum of upper 70's.

Jano glad you got out with the ladies!

I am sitting here eating Cheez-its. I feel huge since getting back from the all-inclusive trip and really shouldn't be eating cheez-its. Oh well Stick out tongue

We are having steak, acorn squash and broccoli for dinner, followed by a fire in the firepit, pop around if you like!

Finally got hold of my friend's husband - the surgery went really well. She'll be back on 3 month check-ups after 5 yrs of 1 yr checkups but nothing else at this point. She's not being an easy patient though so we had a bit of a laugh about that

Are you guys serious?  Snow in September?  Yikes!! I wouldn't mind it about 10 degrees cooler, but I'm not going to complain about low to mid 80s. A week or so ago I had some more insulation pumped into the attic and I can't believe how much cooler the house is on warm afternoons. Hopefully, it will work to keep it warmer in the winter too.

Cathy, too bad you didn't have a camera ready.  That would have made quite a picture ... Shane running around with a cantaloupe in his mouth.

That sounds yummy!!! I treasure my nights alone when DH is working though, so I'll be content with something I throw together but thanks for the invite Big Smile

Jan - girl's night out is almost always fun but even with no kids, I find it hard to make myself go. Once I get home from work, it takes a bomb to get me out of the house again. Now that I have more days off, I should start trying to rekindle some negected friendships.

So Maze is having a severe allergic reaction.. Sometimes our fridge doesn't latch all the way and this morning her and Dodger got the fridge open, the full bowl of turkey parts I put in there yesterday spread across the kitchen floor! Dodger snagged a piece and ran outside to eat it, while Maze licked up the juice... They did this sooo quietly that no one noticed until one of my roommates heard Maze licking something...

On that note, Dodger's leave it works on cleaner/turkey juice! Lol And I just realized that the large container of hot dogs I had sliced for Monday's training is missing... Dodger just brought me the empty container....

I've got a wicked headache..I can't decide if it's allergies, sick or over work..Those of you who don't know, I went back to school two weeks ago...Training to become a support worker..
