    Agree on tgif.

Today is going to be a long day. I would really like to go back to sleep

My county animal control is giving free shots today in my neighborhood with discounted licenses. Abbie is due for rabies and her license so I want to go. I am worried about her leash reactivity though as these tend to be crowded events with lots of dogs and owners that don't know better than to let their dog in another dogs face.

I am going to put together a new puppy basket for a friend but what do you put in a basket for someone who is a dog trainer? She prob already has everything she needs like food bowl, collar, leash, etc. She had 4 dogs and only has one now (the pup will be 2) so no doubt she has dog beds and all of that. Hmmm.

I spent an hour tackling my disaster of a garage last night. That is the last time I store dog treats for the team. Even though the treats were in hard plastic totes, the mice still came in force. They ate holes in the totes! So, I got rid of all the totes, treats and other nonsense that was laying around. Never again!

I have a wedding for a coworker tonight and I don't want to go. Seriously, I can never understand the excitement about going to a wedding. I honestly find them fairly boring - especially a work one - and a pain. I know I sound like a party pooper, but I just don't like going. It's a medium size reception with about 300 people so we should be able to duck out after a few hours. DH is definitely not looking forward to making small talk all night. Oh well. Tomorrow is homecoming for my nieces and they are both going so it should be fun to see them all dressed up. I was surprised to find out that they don't go in couples anymore, but in groups. TGIF!!!

Not having a great morning.  One of our slider doors has a small leak.  I discovered a leak in our linen closet.  Our bathroom has mold issues still (making an appointment on that for next week to get an estimate on removing it).  Also found out that our hot water tank is due for replacement (still working but we'll need to replace it within the year - don't want to take a chance on that!).

On the bright side, it is Friday.  Tomorrow I'm headed down to Massachusetts to see a movie with my Mom (probably a walk around the lake and some shopping too), so I'm looking forward to that.

I'm with you, Lisa. I have to be dragged kicking and screaming. Or maybe that was when I got married...

TGIF!! Still great weather here - I am hoping to get a report finished this morning and get out on the lake for an hour before lunch. I haven't been out on it in about a month.

I wish I could have seen the Giants game last night. I followed it on Gamecast but it would have been nice to see a big win.

Lisa, I feel your pain about the wedding, but did get a real chuckle out of the medium sized reception of 300 LOL

Julie that's nice of you to make a puppy basket but I have no ideas for what to put in it

OK I am going to focus on this report - I send a pic from the middle of the lake if I get out there :)

    eta: Tina hahahaha too funny

Sharon our water heater is WAY past its sell by but it still works. I have done the research on what we would replace it with and know who does the work so I am ready when it goes........but I am not replacing it until it does. I do live in a much warmer climate though

Going to see Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuce in an outdoor arena tomorrow night.  They are calling for strong thunderstorms.  Should be interesting.

Karen, since we live in a condo, with other units on either side of us - I don't want to risk the tank going and flooding our unit and our neighbor's.  Otherwise, I'd hold off longer on a new one!  It works fine, but I'm paranoid lol.  With everything else starting to fall apart, it would be just my luck!

    Springsteen? Have fun!!!

Julie - what about a variety of treats for the gift basket? We even have places around here that do gourmet dog treats and some are super cute. Since I seem to be buying treats every time I turn around, I know I'd appreciate it.

DH just left to work and I have the next 2 days allllllll to myself :)

I'm with you on not liking to go to weddings unless it's people I'm close to and even then I'm never happy if I have to dress up.  Medium size is 300?????  LOL  Not in my world. Wink

My friend and I had a great time yesterday.  She's really missing Texas and would love to move back where her family and friends live but her DH wants to stay in TN.  She said whenever they come back here to visit she realizes that moving away was something she agreed to but wasn't ever that thrilled about.  We're going to the Farmer's Market Saturday with the little dogs.  I'm so happy that Twister is doing well enough to enjoy the outing.  Chigger was beside herself with joy, wiggles and kisses to see me yesterday.  Dogs sure can make you feel loved. Big Smile

Ain't that the truth?! I'm so happy that Twister is able to enjoy the visit as much as you are. I know that my friend would love to live back in Calif. too and nothing would make me happier but it will probably never happen :(

I got an email from one of the organizers of the Kibble & Bids event happening a week from tomorrow and she wanted to know if I could work the actual event. I'd already volunteered to help with clean-up the day after but wanted to work the event more than anything. I was a little surprised to find out that I need to be there at 3:30 though. I thought the event started at 6 but sponsors/VIPs will arrive at 5, so it makes sense but since it goes until 9:30, it's going to be long evening on my feet. In light of that, I'm going to try to find the riding boots I've been itching to buy. Big Smile I was bummed to read that volunteers aren't allowed to drink any alcohol. It's a big wine event and I love wine but I totally understand why they have that policy.

    Morning all!

    Nothing exciting here.  Busy, busy...

See ya at the tiki bar later

I have a 10:45 interview, and the person I am supposed to meet is not here. There appears to be no one here at all. This is of course after I screwed up last week (said I could do a certain, I asked her if that was okay, she never confirmed, so I forgot to put in my calendar). Nobody answered at the front desk phone either so I would say there is really no one here. I sent her an email, so she at least knows I am/was here. I just saw a woman walk in the building, so maybe I will go try again, but there are other offices, so she could be for any of those. How long should I wait though? Also, I went and got my eye allergy drops for this, which were $53. I didn't want to go in with red eyes itching like hell.

Yeah, around here that's about average. I have been to weddings before that had 1000+ - not at all kidding either. That's definitely not the normal, but 300 is average. Remember - Italian/Arabic/Polish area - everything is a party and everyone is invited. I think there were 100 people at my 1st Communion party.

Just when I start thinking that abbie has made lots of progress on her leash reactivity, we have a day like today. I took her to the vaccination/licensing clinic and while no dogs got in her face we had a dog reactive dog in front of us and behind us in line. The dog in front of us never stopped barking so abbie barked back at him. She snarled and tried to lung toward every new dog that came within sight. The ac officer stood near us the whole time with his little dog catching stick :( that was so mortifying. She did have relaxed moments here and there where she would lie down with a relaxed mouth but for the most part she was beyond her threshold for stress. Once the dog in front of us left, the ac officer put his stick down. *sigh* I just don't know what to do sometimes. We have been working on this forever. How is it that other leash reactive dogs can stay calm but she can't?
