    TGIF

My week has been so whacked that friday doesn't really mean all that much today.

I'm fairly brain dead this morning. Sleep was a mix of dead to the world and wide awake.

And TWO weekends in a row that I can catch up with myself!  Last weekend there were no obligations either so this is a treat!

    Have a great day everyone.

Whoa B did an insane zoomie that unfortunately began inside - good to see him happy but zowie - waaaaaaaaaaaay too much!

Jackie I hope you are exhausted from a wonderful birthday celebration!

back to grey skies today - lovely

another first time meeting this afternoon with a business prospect and

    1) my hairdresser waxed my eyebrows yesterday and I have redmarks over my eyes

    2) I had B down at the lake and he took off running, his drag line (with a large knot at the end) went flying and the knot hit me in the eye! Its still watering LOL

I hope I have enough concealer or I will look like a boxer

hahahaha 3 threads started all at once - think they are all merged now!

    • Gold Top Dog

I hope your eyes and eye brows get better Karen.  I have never waxed or plucked my eye brows, but have been thinking about it.  They aren't out of control according to others, but it feels like they could be more polished, if you know what I mean?

I am really getting into this two-office thing.  This morning, since bossman is gone I decided to work from the closer to my house office.  Its so close that I will be heading home for lunch to see Riley.  If this works out.  I could actually go home at lunch everyday and see her off on the bus and then get home in time to get her from the bus at the end of the day!  I used to do that (go home for lunch) in WI when she was a baby to nurse and it was awesome.

TGIF!!!  Sunday is the big horse day.  Lord knows I am far more excited than Riley!  LOL

One more thing. Today is my parent's 49th Wedding Anniversary. My dad called me at 6:00 this morning to share in his joy of winning a small jackpot in Atlantic City.  He didn't want to call up to the room since my mom was still sleeping but he was too excited not to tell someone right away.  It was fun hearing him Whoop it up and the machine going nuts - hard to imagine he's 70 years old - he seems younger now than when I was little.  Big Smile

Lisa, that's great about your dad winning in Atlantic City, not to mention that your parents have been married 49 years.

Also, I agree that working close to home is great - I live about 1.25 miles from my office. I hate commuting and as a single parent, when DS was younger, I could get to the school or home w/in 7 minutes.

Got a new cardio workout dvd and tried it out last night. It's just what I needed - a good solid workout of all areas, not too difficult to follow, and not something that's going to excessively strain my aging joints and muscles.

Cool stuff Lisa, that you can be so close to home, and for the horse on Sunday.

I started working on something this morning, then I decided not to do it yet. I was editing some pictures, but then I realized, we might need different pictures in a few weeks. So, why bother right now. Actually, I'll wait till tomorrow and see what we're going to do about it.  I do not want to go to work today, or tomorrow, well, I don't mind going to the meeting tomorrow, I do not want to do my work this weekend. I don't have enough to do in the time I'm there anymore. It's a good thing, kind of, because it means the kid is doing well and we don't as much practice on certain things, but it means that I don't have enough to occupy 3.5 hours tomorrow and Sunday.

    Morning all!

Having a beautiful day in NWA.  54 degrees this morning.  Slept with the windows open and both me and the boys slept like a dream.  Hubby was still asleep when I left...oh wait....he is always still asleep when I leave. LOL!

Jen, I am afraid I am a bit confused about when your birthday really is so I will just say;  Happy Birthday Jen!!!

Today is my parent's 49th Wedding Anniversary.

    Happy Anniversary to your folks!

Lots and lots to do this weekend.  Getting ready for the annual Labor Day weekend festivities.  The kids and grandkids will be home Big Smile We had some rain in the last week and things are getting green.  We even had to mow for the 1st time since June??  Plants and flowers were already mostly dead or eaten by grasshoppers but Oh well nothing can be done about that.  I have been cooking for 2 weeks so that none of us will have to do much while they are here.   For 12 years we had a gigantic cookout with all the friends, neighbors, & family.  Hubby smoked tons of meat and we worked our behinds off.  It was fun but exhausting and very expensive.  We made the family decision to not do that anymore 2 years ago.  Now it is just relaxing fun.  Hubbys family will come for the day on Sunday from Oklahoma for burgers and dogs but that is easy.   I have fixed enchilada's (in the freezer for warm up) I also fixed "Kings Ranch Chicken" (went in the freezer last night) Thanks to Barb and Jackie for that recipe.  I will be off from Tues next week and return on the 5th.  Now if I could just win the lottery and get that stinkin AC fixed Wink  Opps I guess you have to buy a ticket.  **Note to self**  Buy winning ticket.

I cant wait to see how Riley does on Big Horse Day, I hope she has a very good time. That is great about you working closer to home, I am the closest I have ever been and could go home but it would use way more gas and I would have to leave to go back after 20 min at home.  One of the ladies I work with is 2 blocks from home and will go home often for her lunch.

    Have a great day all!

Tina this sounds like it is right up my alley.  I need something but not into "extreme" workouts.  Can you share more info?

I would love to work closer to home. My office is only about 15 miles away but because of traffic and stop lights, it takes at least 30 min's and that's with no traffic. Most of the time it takes more like 45 min's.

Lisa - I love that your dad called you to celebrate his winning and Congrats to them for 49 yrs together. I can't wait to hear how Riley does with the riding lesson. The 1st time my dad put me on a horse, I screamed until he took me off. After that, I couldn't get enough :).

Gorgeous morning but another mid-90s day, so I'll try to get some outside stuff done early.

Ginger, this is the title: Cardio Burn Sculpt DVD with Tanja Djelevic. I bought it through Gaiam. It moves along at a decent pace and you may find it a little intense (cardio), but it's not one of those Insanity workouts. It's stretching, balancing, twisting,, some strength moves (pushups). You can use weights, but don't have to (I don't). I have a balance ball w/dvd workout from the same instructor and she's easy to follow.

4 people shot and 10 injured at the Empire State Building.  Work related dispute- disgruntled employee.  More and more, I just want to stay in my house and never go anywhere.

We just heard about the shooting too, so very sad.

Thanks for the info Tina, I will check it out!

Just read about it Deb - nutters everywhere! WSJ said it was a commercial robbery - gunman is deceased from NYPD fire.

    Tina that workout sounds great

Lisa congrats to your parents on their achievement and a win!

BTW my hairdresser decided several years ago to do my 'brows (I am not in need of an eyebrow pencil but far from a uni-brow) as she was washing my hair. It looked better than when I plucked so I let her do it. Sometimes my skin is just super sensitive I guess. She was calling me whiny last night because I said it hurt ..........hmm no it was doing some damage. Most of the time it doesn't and I don't actually know why sometimes my skin hates it and other times its fine

Julie, I hope you have a restful weekend and feel better.

Karen, sorry you got bonked by Bugsy's knot and now look like you lost the fight.  We had a nice time last night but were home pretty early being so old and all. lol

Lisa, how cool that your dad called you about his win!  Congrats to your parents on their 49th anniversary!

Gin, I'm jealous of your great weather but so glad you're getting some relief from the heat.  The Labor Day get together sounds like so much fun.

I forgot what else I was going to say.  Too many interruptions trying to type this post. lol

Glad they got the shooter.  Saves a lot of tax money.
