    Talkin' Tuesday Chatter

Good morning 5 minute commute.  Gosh I wish I could work in the office everyday!!!  Plus I forgot something in my car and don't have to walk 6 blocks in the ghetto to go retrieve it!  Whoo Hoo!

My mom asked me this morning this morning for my Christmas list Surprise  I know she likes to get things done early, but geesh.  Of course, now I will waste the time I saved in my commute browsing online for something to give her LOL

    Have a good day everyone.

Well I need to send my slides over by 1 today - I have most of it done I think - I need to write up my talk and match it up to make sure its what I want

Bugsy got in trouble this morning for barking at some people walking their dogs past our house. One of their dogs is completely psycho and goes after B if we see them on the road. I think B just thought it was payback, anyway I put him in a sit and he had to watch them walk by. I told him off and now he is fawning all over me..............'oh i love you mom, please pet me' hahahaha

Its overcast and going to rain - how's that for something new????????? I think the mushrooms are moldy

    Good gracious, a Christmas list????

um my husband is going to hell for selective listening with the others - Bugsy too Wink The two of them are masters at it

Speaking of Christmas, one of our snow plowing companies sent through a bid yesterday. Dude, it's August; I told you mid-to-late September was the best time to submit bids so that they don't get lost. Of course, this is the same company that also assumed they automatically had the job because we used them last year. I had to tell them no, it doesn't work like that, after I stopped laughing.

I had a no show client (didn't answer the door) at 7 this morning. That is odd considering they have never canceled at all in a year. The cars were in the garage too. No babysitter there this morning though, and she appears to be the one to make the house function. It's more surprising though that I have received no call back yet. At least I did go back to sleep when I got home.

Only Tuesday?  Feels like it should be Thursday, at least.  I really wish we could get away this weekend and we might, we just might.  We've been trying the last two weeks.

Forgot to mention yesterday that my great niece, Ireland Rose, was born on her mom's birthday.  What a neat gift. :)  She's a little cutie and her dad is so in love with his little girl.   He's a big guy and to see the pictures of him holding her on his chest with his head resting on her tiny head are enough to make me melt.

Good luck with your presentation, Karen.  Bugsy, be good. lol

In honor of little Ireland Rose:

    Wild Irish Rose

     Wild Irish Rose (per glass)

    1 measure whiskey (2 – 3 oz)
    ¼ measure grenadine
    ½ measure of lemon juice
    Soda

    • Shake the whiskey, lemon juice and grenadine over ice and pour into a tumbler
    • Top up with a splash of soda

oye I too wish it were Thursday

presentation is done - well I need to rehearse my talk but the 'show' is complete - I think I mentioned it before but its for veterinary students so should be fun

hazy sun is trying to emerge - this has been a fairly awful summer weather-wise

I am getting more and more frustrated with Bugsy's limp, watching him gimp around sucks. Then he'll run like a fool all over and seem fine. It just makes no sense

Do these dogs ever quit worrying us?? When I came home from dinner out Friday night, I was sure that Shane's nose looked swollen. It was so subtle that I couldn't tell for sure and was working myself into a panic, so I pushed it out of my mind. Last night, I realized that in the same area, he has some scabs you can feel but can't see. Since he's never out of our sight and isn't one to get into stuff, I can't help but feel like he somehow did that in his crate that evening but I'm not sure how. I'm going to check for rough edges when I get home and I actually hope I find something I can fix.

Good luck with your presentation Karen.

So, not working yesterday has left me a boatload of work to do, so I'd better get busy.

Poor B and poor Shane.  I too hope you find something fixable in the crate, Cathy.

I will be awfully glad when tourist season is over.  In MA, as in many states, vehicles are required by law to stop for pedistrians in the crosswalk.  Still, I always wait for any cars nearby to pass before I start to cross.  And still, I've almost been flattened 3 times already this week and its only Tuesday!  Oye!  I'd chalk it up to out of towners and different laws in different states if it weren't for the HUGE warnings posted at each and every crosswalk advising of state law....what was really frightening today was to see a lady push infant twins in a double stroller have to run to avoid being hit.  Her poor dog got dragged behind.  Really?  Just a little bit of courtesy?

Cathy - nope they never do stop worrying us.  Ari's other eye is now all gunky but the redness is going away.  I'm going to just keep it clean for a bit and if it doesn't clear up more in the next day or two back to the vet's we go.  It doesn't seem to be bothering her any though.  I suspect it's from swimming in the river.  But, with her, who knows.

I could use some good vibes for a friend.  Her cats are indoor/outdoor (yes, she's aware of the risks. they do not go outside when she's not home though).  Her cat did get out at 7pm last night and hasn't come home yet.  This is a cat that always comes home.  Our very real fear is that something got her (i.e. wild animal).  She's home today looking for her and she still hasn't found her.  It's not an area where she would be likely to get hit by a car, but wild animals are a definite concern.

I still feel meh, but better than last week.  I just can't figure it out.  No fever this week, but I still have some issues with joint pain, but mostly just plain old fatigue.  Right now, I'm starting to lose my momentum and wouldn't mind crawling into my big, comfy bed....

4 days this week.....1 day next week then vacation and the kids are coming home :).

We are having beautiful weather, I sure hope it holds out while I am on vacation.

HVAC...expensive but I think we have decided who to go with now how to pay for it Wink

Roof????? probably not gonna happen right now.   Have I mentioned how ridiculous the roofing bids were?  Anyway, the heat and air was priority so we will just worry about roof later.

Have his patellas been checked? (I'm sure they have). My boss's Wolfhound pup just had surgery to correct a luxating patella. Apparently he was an anomaly at the surgery center since it's less common for larger breeds to have trouble and, when they do, it's not usually painful.  He was both. He did have off and on limping.

    • Gold Top Dog
I can hear!! Surgery went fine. Recovery was a bit shaky at first with lots of pain but now it is under control. I am so lucky to have the bff that I do. She stayed at the hospital and picked up my pain killers, talked to the doc and all that. My dogs lover her too. Neiko is a little traitor ;p he slept with her all night and today while we were sleeping. I guess the girls took turns between sleeping with me and sleeping with her. Too cute.

I am glad that I have off work tomorrow so I can catch up on stuff from the last 3 weeks without feeling rushed. Hope you all are doing well, and all you furry critters too!
    • Gold Top Dog

I am so happy for you Julie!!! Not just for being able to hear again and hopefully on the way to being pain free but also for having such an awesome friend. I hope the rest of the recovery goes really smooth for you.

    • Gold Top Dog
I was just checking in to see if you'd posted, Julie.  Sending fast heal vibes your way.  I'm so glad you've got a bff to be there for you and yeah, dogs are traitors sometimes. lol  Take it easy, if that's even in your vocabulary. :)
