Wow -- Never did THAT bee 4 (Charlie Good Boy)

Never did this but tada ROCKD  (thass Mom's favrit word but ... this DID rock)

We had BONZ.   - Mom bringed em home frum the food place.  (when Dad bringz in all the bags n bags n bags??)

We gets chooz stuff but never THESE things bee 4.  Tinker sez "marro bonez" -- big danged thing!!  HEAVY.  Tink in her crate.  Luner in tha other room wif the gate up and Me wif MOm in the kichun place.

Thot the thing was gonna jump out at me.  Mom holded it ... then put if on tha floor.  I licked at it -- but what do ya DO wif it?  I mean ... it's as big as my MOUF.   You lick at it and it slides away.

Took me a while ... Mom kept sayin that "Chew it Charlie -- chew it GOOD" thing --  but the thing was as big as a rock!  So she tipped it up on its side and it DID rock!! back n forth -- it MOVED.

Then I hear Tinker B in the other room -- her barked at hers!!  so I guess they ALL do stuff like that?

Fin-leee I laid down with it and MOm sez "GOOD BOY!!!!!!!!!!"

so what?  I'm supposed to cuddle this slippery rock-thingamy??

Wait -- that DID work better.  Mom nudged my feets sorta together.  HOLD it??  No ... wait that's TINK who uses her paws like human hands ... not ... me .... well .... may .....beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Yeah -- that worked.  If ya hold the danged slippy thing!!!  It's downright .... nummy!!

this is as good as  TOYZ ... I LIKES IT!!!

Mom note:  pretty intense training.  Charlie can be remarkably fearful of many many things.  Sometimes it takes a lot of training for him to "enjoy" even the most basic things.  But what a sense of accomlishment he got from this.  I didn't want to distract him with the "clicky box" to take pics.

I tend not to give raw bones in the summer because of bacteria and it's been SO muggy.  And I didn't do a whole lot before his eye surgery just because it was apparent that going slow and keeping all things positive was so critical.  He didn't need MORE to be afraid of then.    I was having a blast just watching this and showing him *how* to hold a bone.  Things you'd think would be inate often aren't.

Now I'm gonna move on to raw chicken wings If I can get them in a small package.    I've been stressing over teeth.  *laughing* I feel like this was a major hurdle today.  Now if I could just convince Luna and Charlie that the new bug zapper isn't the Aliens Spaceship from "Cowboys n Aliens".    It's a good thing you guys!!  (I have to convince David to get it back down and give them a 'de-bunking' session so they can see it up close! LOL)

Oh Charlie, Good job!  You had a marrow bone, yippee!  And Tinker B as well, ha?  WOO HOO!!!

Good for you Callie, taking the time and initiative to help him along!  Chicken wings?  I call them "treasure," he hee.  I buy a family pack, keep 4 out and put them in baggies of 4 in the freezer.  Then take them out and put them in the fridge the day before I plan to give them, so they can thaw out.  My dogs know "bone!"  and "treasure!"  He heee

What I didn't know was that David was in the bedroom "cheerleading" for us cos he could hear me talking Charlie "through" .... LOL

Luna got bored with hers pretty quick -- but on his way thru the house, Charlie made a beeline for Luna's! LOL

    I've created a Frankenstein! LOL

WTG Charlie.... now you know why Tink uses her paws...Hot does that too but he is a slower chewer.   What fun to discover something new.

I have never given the boys raw chicken wings I think they might like it but they are so bad about chomp, chomp, swallow that I am not sure they will get it chewed up.

You can use backs as well -- which may be better for the bigger dogs.  And man, they crack off the plaque!  Because they are an awkward shape, it tends to make them chew them just to get them thru their mouth.

Be sure you reduce their kibble if you do.  You just use non-weight bearing bones

Bugsy loves his bones but he HATES touching them - no clue so its quite humorous to watch

BTW he is trained to eat his on a towel - then I just wash the towel :)

The towel will come later -- I was trying so darned hard to make this easy for him I decided the kitchen floor would wash later  *smile*.  (*rolling eyes* the things I do!)  Charlie can be so consumed about 'being good' that a towel would have completely distracted him, but I suspect he decided he LIKES bones well enough that this won't be a problem in future.

And Charlie -- yeah, not in Mom's bed.  This was why **DAD** was in the bedroom with Tink (in her crate) and Luna (who needed SUPERVISION).  Dad fell asleep.  But hey -- it's DAD's side of the bed they like to lie on *shrugs* --  so I figured if he didn't supervise???? LOL (and yeah, David does as much laundry as I do so I wasn't worried LOL)
