    Raspberry raider

As I am waiting I thought I would down load this Video of Vinny the raspberry thief. His picking the ripe ones.

    (Taken earlier this season.)

It was a tremendously busy summer so I haven’t been on here to share. I remember last I was on at least

2 where waiting on puppies. I bet they are adorable and growing so fast.

Rogue use to eat the ones at the bottoms of the bush, But Vinny has took it to a whole new level. Didnt want him getting sick and no berries for us. So the raspberries needed a fence this year.

That is just hilarious!  What a clever boy, Vinny!  You said he's picking the ripe ones . . . that sounds like scientific evidence that dogs can identify colors, right?  He must know to eat only the bright red ones!

I'm going to show that video to my husband.  We discovered that our dog, Ruby, loves raspberries, too.  We have a chain link fence separating our yard from the neighbor's backyard, and the two young kids who live there love to see Ruby.  I've posted this before, but one day I heard them giving her SIT and DOWN commands at the fence line.  She was way back in the corner, behind a shrub, so I couldn't see what she was doing.  Then I heard the kids say, "Good girl," so I knew she must've been responding.  Then one of them said, "She likes those!"  I went over to see what they were giving her -- they were picking raspberries off their bushes and feeding them to Ruby through the fence each time she obeyed a command.

It got so she would RUN to that back corner every time we let her out, hoping the kids were outside (and they often were).  She'd SIT and DOWN so many times, she was like a Jack-in-the-Box, and she'd eat a ton of raspberries.  Now that the bushes are nearly empty, I don't know what will happen!

Thanks for posting that video -- it's too darn cute!  Vinny is a determined fruit lover!

I couldnt figure out if it was the color or the smell. He hones in on the ripe ones leaving the others to rippen.

Our dog Rogue did this to, On the other hand Boadicea and Magnus just cant seem to figure it out and Kobe could care less.

I am glad you enjoyed it Big Smile and thanks for sharing you story. I love it.

That's silly! Rupert likes raspberries, too, but he waits patiently for me to pick them. Smile

You have my sweet husbands dream fur baby! He wants a Vizsla so bad! But as we live in a mobile home community-so that's not possible. Hopefully one day will have a house with a big yard and I can surprise him with a Vizsla puppy. That's what dreams are made of. Rupert is gorgeous

Hey what a smart doggie!  What a great video!  LOL only the ripe ones, YUM!!!

Growing up our Princess would come with us blueberry picking on Mt. Pleasant in Maine.  She'd have a blast romping around on the wide open slope; it's a ski resort in winter.  Then she'd slow down and we'd see her head ducking down now and again.  Dad went over to see what she was doing, she was picking blueberries!  When she'd get really tired - and thirsty? - she'd just plonk down and munch for a bit.  So funny!

That is hysterical!  And he blends in so nicely with his surroundings.  He could almost pretend he's part of the bush.
