Thinking about doing some changes in my life..

As many of you know, I train dogs, specializing in people with limited income that can't afford the full price of classes and that would loose their dog because of it. I love it, but I'm thinking about a change.. I'll still train dogs, just not as often. I've been seriously considering going for my Health care aide certificate. I do therapy work with Sandy and love it. And I'd like something with a bit more job security. Granted the thought of a major change like that scares the daylights outta me.. But I think I really want to go for it...

If you would enjoy it, I think it is a good move.  Our population is aging, there will be a need for this sort of thing.  I'd be lost without the CNAs we've had for my Dad over the past 4 years.

I was a care aide for my grandmother for many years so I know the gist of it. And I do love to help the elderly.. It'd be even better if I can bring Sandy to work with me. Lol

ETA: I should clarify that. LOL. I was an untrained care aide. I was too young to get the formal training.

No reason you can't do both -- it doesn't have to be "I have to stop this to do that".  It simply helps your options so you can STAY working.  And they'd dovetail nicely -- the stuff with the elderly often can be during the night -- and the dog stuff during the working day.  should work very very well!

Callie, that's what I'm hoping. I don't want to stop training completely, and I'll still be working my dogs. I'll just need to adjust accordingly. I spoke to a friend of mine and my parents, they all think that this would be a good profession for me.. So starting next spring (I missed intake for this fall) I'll be going back to school.. EEEEP!
