Manic Monday

 Long day of travel ahead, yet I still don't feel organized - I hate this feeling

Made an orthopedic appt for B but it's not until the 14th. 

Glad that GabbyG is Ok and hoping that all dogs and humans are feeling OK today!

I had a completly uneventful weekend, which is just what I needed.

I do hope its not a manic Monday for everyone! 

I have a physical therapy session this afternoon.  She needs to help me with this walking thing.  I can't do it.  I think I may have hurt myself trying to do to much.  *sigh*  All she has done so far is hook me up to the electro-stim thingy.  We shall see if she can do more.

 The title of this thread is too appropriate.  Weekend was nice, but I come in today and my two coworkers are both out sick.  Glad I didn't call out.  I'm working on a fairly decent headache and hoping and praying it doesn't stray into migraine territory (it's borderline).  My boss should be in soon to help alleviate the craziness that is being by yourself in an office on a Monday.

I scored two pairs of $50 jeans - one Vera Wang capris and one Levi's skinny jeans - on Saturday at Kohls for $12 each.

Other than that, the weekend was pretty much business as usual.

Don't even worry about whining, Julie.  It must be miserable and you need to, no... you must vent.  That must be awful.  Do call the doctor and let him know how bad it is...maybe there is something else he or she can offer for relief.  I'm so sorry.

Remote reiki on Gracie last week seems to have made her pretty bright-eyed.  I need to get her chest x-rayed or an ultrasound done, I think.  She kind of confirmed a suspicion I've been having about her neck & chest.  Not sure what I can do w/the information, but knowing might prevent me from doing something that could make her worse.  I'm soooo thankful I stopped her Obedience career - I knew jumping would be a bad thing.

Speaking of Obed, my club's show is the end of this month.  (For which I am the show chair and chief ring steward.)  Aside from our committee members, only 3-5 other club members ever volunteer.  One can't this year.  I'm hoping I can guilt some club members into helping when I pass around a sign-up sheet at the general meeting on Weds.  The fact that a majority of our assistance comes from another club, and we don't reciprocate, is a problem, imo.

 Edit to add: Julie, you have every reason to be upset (I won't call it whining)  I wish we could make it better for you sooner rather than later!

Jackie - how's Gabby this morning? Your story about the yogurt fiasco made me laugh out loud. That's the kind of thing that usually happens to me and makes for some funny memories.

I overslept a little this morning and it felt really nice. I only have this week and the next and then I technically retire and work 1/2 time. My schedule will be Tues-Thurs and only 6 or 7 hours each day. I have a max # of hours I can work in the year and it's a little less than 1/2 of what I work now, so I'll have to track it carefully. I'm sooooo looking forward to the reduced hours and having 4 days off every week

Just popping in to say that Gabby's doing fine.  She had some slight swelling this morning so I gave her some more benadryl.  I'm still waiting for a call back from the vet. :(

Barb happy belated birthday!

Friday I fought a small fire till Firefighters could arrive.  Long story short...the family whose pasture was sure to go up if I hadnt called the Fire Dept was very grateful that no more burned than what did.  It looks like someone tossed a cigarrette out the window, by the time I saw it, it had probably just ignighted by the time I got parked and got a gallon of water out it was way to big to extinguish.  I am just glad I saw it when I did.

Then Saturday I took my hubby to our favorite Burger Drive-in, they make the most awesome malts and shakes ever.  It is a short drive from here mostly rural driving, we only go occasionally.   I could tell he needed to get out of the house.  We had a great time...also saw that wonderful sunset saturday evening.  On our way home we had 2 Bucks and a Doe run out in front of us.  This is not the normal time for them to be so active, the heat and lack of rain has them looking for food and water.  Very eventful drive in the country.

Today is the day they announce the winner of the Energy efficient contest.  Got a feeling we didnt win since I havent heard from anyone and I think they contact the finalists :( .  Oh well it's not over yet.

Have a great day all, the temps here are down by 10 degrees and we are 96 today.  Definately a break we needed.

I have a great recipe for King Ranch Chicken...which I always modify.  I'll share it with you guys shortly.

We had this weird little storm on Saturday night - thunder, lightening and just enough rain to make everything dirty, but not enough to clean anything off. Even Max was acting weird.  He kept going behind the TV and I kept dragging him out by the collar because there are like 50 bazillion wires and cords back there so I don't think that's the best place for him to be hiding out. That's the first time he seemed bothered by anything going on outside, other than the leaf blower.

My sister sent me a gift certificate from Bath & Body Works so I went there this morning and had fun shopping.  They have a candle called "Leaves" that has the most amazing scent.  Yum!
