    Thursday chat

wow evening kayaking kicks my butt - I am super exhausted this morning

Jackie I am sure that you'll pick up Twister today and he'll be much more himself - strengthening thoughts for you, DH and T.

After a day's reprieve from violent storms they are due back today. When they start talking about storm cells you know it isn't going to be good, sigh

Paige I hope G is fine today

    • Gold Top Dog

T-storms here during the night last night - thank you Karen!

My breakfast started out healthy with some fresh cherries, but quickly deteriorated when I was making my lunch. The Lay's Honey BBQ chips that were in my lunch turned into the 2nd half of my breakfast. I seldom each chips, though I will say that flavor is totally addictive. **burp**

Hoping Twister is feeling better today, and that Jackie got some rest.

Wondering if Deb survived last night or is taking a day off to recover.

I stopped by the clinic to check on Twister this morning.  It was all quiet when I walked into the clinic.  I told the receptionist I wanted to see how he was doing.  The words were hardly out of my mouth before I heard Twister start barking his little head off. Big Smile  He looks great and is all perky and looked and acted like his old perky self.  I'm sure I'll hear from the vet later when she gets in but I feel so much better having seen for myself that he is much improved.  I left to the sound of his barking and was not a bit sorry that the employees might have to put up with it for a while longer. :)

I hope Deb had a good time last night.  She sure made my day much better yesterday. :)

ETA Tina, I slept like a baby last night and feel positively human today.

That is an excellent report Jackie :)  So glad to hear it!

I'm supposed to get my hair cut today @ lunch.  I still haven't decided what I want.  Either just a little trim shaping to what I have now, or super short again....really need to make a decision.

That is great news! Cloudy and humid here.I have the whole day off,not sure what to do with it.I just finished a book by Graham Joyce called The Silent Land.Best spooky story I've read in a long time.Noel seems to be having urinary incontinence sporadically again.I don't know if my Proin isn't working anymore for her or she is just holding her bladder more. She can be so obsessive at times that she can't be bothered to stop and potty.I picked up a Greek Salad for lunch today.Have a great day everyone.

Doing the happy dance!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course I KNEW he'd be fine this morning (so relieved that my insistence at only allowing positive thoughts worked out!) And also glad you got some good sleep

I just took little Dottie out for the last time Sad She goes to yet another foster home today. She was out with DH, Bugsy & I for about an hour instead of just a quick potty trip Wink She played with B, played some frisbee, goofed around with DH who was doing yardwork (she's infatuated with him) and then the cutest of all - which I am going to post a photo of. I so hope she gets a great owner soon

Tina I hope to send you today's storms too Stick out tongue I like to be generous

Yay for good news on Twister!!! I'm so happy he's feeling better and now you can feel better too Jackie.

Speaking of barking though - the morning barkfest that DH instigates with Shane is not the most pleasant thing to hear in the morning. Super Angry

Potato chips for breakfast Tina? Yes

Trying to get my retirement paperwork together and I've just been procrastinating like crazy. DH needs to get some stuff turned in to add me on his health benefits plan and I need to get the actual retirement documents notarized. I really must get my act together or it's not going to happen in August.

That is such great news, Jackie !!!!

I had a great time at the concert last night.  I was surrounded by people who were really into the music and not afraid to sing along or get up and dance.  However, here's a conversation that I actually had with Mr. W while I was trying to groove to "Statesboro Blues" :

Mr. W:  So is that Duane Allman ??

Me:  No Dear, Duane Allman has been dead for over 40 years.

Mr. W:  So who's that playing lead guitar?

Me:  That's Warren Haynes.  He became the lead guitarist after they fired Dickey Betts.

Mr. W:  So is he the guy that played at the White House with Mick Jagger and BB King on Blues Night?

Me:  No Dear, that was Derek Trucks, Butch Truck's nephew.

Mr. So who's ........ Me:  Dear, if you talk to me one more time during "Statesboro Blues", I'm going to punch you in the face.

The rest of the concert was question free.

ROFL! I'm glad he caught on...albeit a little slow. Zip it!

Yay for Twister!  Poor Jackie, what heck this has been for you.

I forgot everything else I was gonna say....but that's the most important!

    Yipeeeee!

Been thinking about Jackie and Twister, so glad to read that the little guy is feeling more like his old self. Big Smile

Glenda, your neighbor must have absolutely nothing at all to do. Why don't you get yourself something scandalous  to wear in the garden?  Maybe some Daisy Duke shorts? Tell her you don't need to wash your veggies.  The dogs lick them clean for you.

I don't know why I put on a black tee shirt this morning.  It's not even noon yet and I'm covered in dog hair. Tongue Tied

    Joyce

    • Gold Top Dog

Joyce!  LOL.  Daisy Duke shorts to go with those disguisting THONG underwear I hang on the line??  For the record, I don't own or wish to own anything the migh feel like dental floss in my butt crack.......

What really annoys me is that I don't wear shortish shorts.  They might LOOK short, but then, I've got something like 8 miles of leg and no torso.  And, given no torso, the tanks I wear to garden, TUCKED in, come practically to the bottom of said butt.  And MINE is NOT the size of a satelite dish, and I think that's her problem.  Hey, I did NOT force feed the woman into a size gazillion.

Its funny because I almost told her "oh, the veggies are pretty clean...the dogs pee on them"  just to gross her out, but they sit on their 2nd story deck with the danged binocs so they know the dogs don't go in the garden.

They are retired, or at least she is...she probably has never lifted a finger in her life...she makes HIM carry the laundry in and out when she uses her clothes lines!

I swear that IF we win the powerball and I can actually buy this house, the very first thing I'm gonna do is put a GIANT privacy fence and only on that side!  My other neighbors are all fine.  These people are just from another planet.

I forgot to comment on your story, Glenda, when you posted it earlier.  That neighbor is truly unbelievable!  I second Joyce's suggestions about giving them something to really get "offended" over.  It would be fun to come up with a really outlandish outfit and create some kind of scripted show in your backyard when you know they're watching!

I'm really glad to hear that Twister is so much improved this morning.  I hope he's back home soon and that the worst of his post-op pain is behind him now.

My coworker and I just took a quick walk for a lunch break -- it's in the low 80's and 100% sunny (no humidity).  So nice.  It's still cool in the mornings.  I went out to cut some hydrangea blossoms off one of our bushes about 7:30AM, and it was about 59 degrees.

I think I posted before about the kids who live next door feeding Ruby raspberries through the chain link fence.  It's become such a habit that she runs to that corner as soon as I open the door, and she looks disappointed if they're not outside.  They make her SIT and DOWN over and over -- she looks like a jack-in-the-box!  I told the little boy yesterday that we'll have to come up with a new treat once the raspberries are done producing!

Glad the concert was fun, Deb, and that your husband got the message to just be quiet and enjoy the music!!
