More prayers and calming vibes for you and Twister. I remember seeing Sassy post-op from her surgery and honestly thinking she's just not going to recover enough to even come home. I know I keep saying it but my heart hurts for you Jackie. I hope they can help Twister to feel better very soon and it was just dehydration. Usually I'm all for having them home with us to recover but this is definitely one of those times when he's in the best possible place. Sending big cyber hugs your way while you wait.

Prayers coming for Twister...that would scare me too.  I agree that the Vet's is the best place for him to be right now. We gotta do what we gotta do...Hugs, Jackie...

Prayers on their way for Twister.

I saw him around 5pm and he was doing better.  They put a catheter in to drain his bladder and IV cath for fluids.  She gave him a shot for pain and also checked to see if he had any bleeding in the belly.  She said no more than is normal after surgery.  I told her I wasn't sure if I was overreacting and she said she didn't think so and he needed to be there.  She's not really sure what is going on.  He has no fever and was not dehydrated.  Maybe just severe pain.  I gave him lots of kisses and he was looking drowsy and calm when I left.  I feel pretty sure that he'll be ok but can't wait till I can check on him tomorrow morning.  Thaks for all the prayers and good thoughts.

Deb, you are too much. :)  I know you're probably having a pre concert drink about now.  Have one for me and rock out tonight.  I could tell a few stories from those days too, man. lol

I was thinking it might be severe pain too. It'd be nice if they could tell us, right? There's just no way to know but considering how I've felt at times post-operatively, I sure do feel for them. I'm glad he's getting the red carpet treatment and they can monitor his input/output, pain levels, etc. I hope he's bright and chipper when you see him in the morning but I know it'll be a long night for you. We could probably all use a pitcher of one of Deb's drinks tonight. Drinks

All my prayers go out to Twister, I think they send them home way too soon, that is what happened to April and they fully admitted she should have stayed in the vet's longer.  Give them a chance to heal where they are looked after and kept out of that awful pain.  Get well Twister, we are pulling for you!

I have to say that I'm the one who wanted to bring him home after the surgery so I can't blame anyone but myself.

Continued prayers and good thoughts for Twister. It sounds like they've been able to make him comfortable--yeah!

Deb, have a great time tonight!

I hope the other pups who are having a hard time are doing OK--hugs for all of them.

So glad that Twister is in good care this evening and is feeling better. Lots and lots of hugs to you Jackie.

Paige I had no idea anything was happening with Gracie. I am sure hoping you get some answers and they are 'good' answers. Please give her a gentle kiss.

Tracy I make something very similar with cherry tomatoes - I just do it in a saute pan though as you couldn't pay me enough to put the oven on in summer!

drumroll please.......no thunderstorms tonight!! First night in 6 I think we haven't had vicious storms. So I finally got my kayak on the water. I nearly had a meltdown trying to figure out all the straps and doohickeys needed to secure it to my car but persevered and am happy to say that as I suspected once I did it I was much faster. It took 8 minutes from water to ready to drive. Very proud of myself :)

I think bladder surgeries ( if the dogs I've seen are any indication) is really ouchy. But within a few days they're usually feeling much better. Hopefully this holds true for Twister as well.
