Sleepy Tired Monday

    Sleepy Tired Monday

I am worm out from the weekend.  We decided to have a garage sale and the thought of going through all the stuff in the basement is making my head hurt.  But, it has to be done.  I can't stand clutter and holding onto things that aren't getting used.  We have a ton of baby toys that Riley no longer plays with, plus a bunch of stuff DH no longer uses and I WANT IT OUT.  Just have to check with the condo association that its OK for us to have a sale and then the planning begins.

Boss is out all week on vacation - thank goodness.  No craziness for a week.  Although after I talked to him a couple of weeks ago, things have gotten a lot better.

Have a good one everything and Karen, I hope you hear something soon.

We had a storm!!  Rumblings woke me up around 4AM and then we got some BIG rumblings, lightning, a very short loss of power, and a DOWNPOUR!  More to come too!  Yipee!

    Other than that....off to work.

There is not enough sleep for mondays, ever.

I haven't gotten any exercise in about a week and my mood is suffering. I am cranky! I will have to do something today to get myself an attitude adjustment.

I always womder if the people before me had abbie paper/pad trained. I have never been able to break her for good of going potty in certain areas. She tells me when she has to go out but, if there is a blanket laying on the basement floor waiting to be washed, she will go on that. I don't know if this is a carry over from her old life or a carry over from behavior learned from dakota or what. Either way, just when I seem to have her broken of it and give her free access to the house again, she does it. It is very frustrating. How can she not know that this is not appropriate! I have done all the potty training and repotty training things. Ugh. We are back to blocking access to everything but my bdrm and the kitchen again. I hate to do it especially with me being gone next week. I would rather they had full roam of the house.

Anyway, only a few painful hours of work today. Then it is home to finish packing and get some exercise

Karen, I hope you hear something soon.
Thanks I've put it out of my mind - the headhunter company sounds really frustrated with the company so I am thinking it isn't going to happen. Dang and I already had some of that cash spent LOL

Hot and humid. Daily violent storms. Same old, same old. Getting very old

Have an appointment with the allergist today - he's a really nice guy and I always leave with a bag of samples - a bit like trick or treating hahaha

Jackie I wish you could take a day off to just hang with the pups - it sounds like a busy and emotional weekend of course the loss of Coconut too. Be good to yourself this week, OK?

Julie does Abbie's grass eating take place when she is really, really hot?

I woke up just after 4 thanks to DH's snoring, tried to get back to sleep, gave up at 4:30 went to the guest bed and then my mind was very busy thinking about anything and everything. feels like lunchtime to me LOL

I'm sleepy too.  Tossed and turned and couldn't fall asleep.  I finally got up to read hoping it would make me sleepy.  Nope.  Just couldn't turn off my mind.  Finally fell asleep around 2 am.  Alarm goes off at 5.  *yawns*

Twister has an appointment at 11:30 to see if he's got bladder stones. He has all the symptoms. :(   They wanted me to drop him off and I refused.  I was seriously considering finding another vet.  As much as I like this vet she seems to be too busy these days and they always want to just have the pet dropped off.  I want to talk to the vet in person which doesn't seem like too much to ask.  The receptionist could tell I wasn't happy and called me back after ten minutes to say they'd had a cancellation.  I wish she'd hire another vet to carry some of the load.  The new vet that I liked so much isn't coming back to work when her maternity leave is up.  I really liked her and wish I knew if she's joining another practice, and if so, where.  One of the front desk gals made a very catty remark about her when I asked when she was due back from maternity leave.  Very unprofessional and I'll mention to the vet today.

Karen, sorry you haven't heard anything.

I don't usually get to say this but we had crazy thunderstorms here too. It woke us up about 4 AM and lasted for over an hour. I haven't seen lightening or heard thunder like that in a super long time and it was pretty cool. Since there'd been no warning about it coming, we hadn't prepared by putting away beach towels or bird feeders or anything else. It's clearing out now but left a very cool morning behind. Still supposed to warm up to near 100 today.

DH is working today and tomorrow and I've got the days off - woohoo!! I didn't do any cleaning over the weekend, so I'll knock that out and then have time to just relax. I'll definitely need a nap after waking up so early.

We watched War Horse last night. DH thought it dragged on a bit but we both enjoyed it.

Karen - I'm sorry that the job thing is dragging on so long and may not pan out.

Jackie - as Karen said, it sounds like a very emotional weekend but maybe went better than you'd anticipated.

Julie - I'm getting super excited for you. Are you going to be able to keep us updated while you're on the trip?

I've never been asked to drop an animal off at the vet for an exam. Ours has 3 or 4, and if you need something that day, you have to see whoever is available, but they get you in.

I'm taking Luke to Gettysburg for 5 minutes on Friday night so he can do single dog racing. I can't believe I am going to drive 6 hours round trip for 5 minutes. Luke needs to get out and practice though, so we're doing it.  I hope there's at least something good to eat along the way.

LOL I just took Dottie (the neighbor's foster pup) out for a brief bathroom break. She is so silly, she offers her belly immediately upon approach so when I opened the crate she fell out belly up hahahahaha

B never offered his belly and it is still something you need to catch when it does happen

Anyway she is so cute with her big bully smile - i sure wish she could get a good forever home soon. She will need a dedicated owner who will really work with her on training

Gracie has never offered her belly to a person.  She will roll over for particularly assertive dogs during play, but not offered to people.  I only rub her belly when she is doing the G.I.Jane commando crawl across the floor and I rub her belly as she is stretching out her back legs like a frog.  Gawd I love my dog.

Seems like something is going on in the stars - a ton of people I know have not been sleeping well.

My weekend was slow, punctuated with activities.  Did nothing all day that I can recall on Saturday, other than a little shopping, then drove up north to watch my friend's band perform.  Sunday, another day of nothing until we went to the tattoo convention so my friend could make a plan w/a tattoo artist from Ontario who will be back for the show in Boston.

I've been feeling nauseous all day.  Blech!  (No, not morning sickness!)

    LOL

B does silly rolling, stretching and flopping most mornings. Sometimes you can rub his belly then............but sometimes if you do he runs away and goes somewhere else to do his routine LOL jerk

Short day at work. I had to turn one screw. Anyway, Took Piper for a walk using a different route. Hard to do in a town this small, but it was nice. Met a little Rat Terrier. A tripod. Interesting to watch her move. When she ran, she pulled up one leg and just used her right side legs. Piper totally ignored her, as she doesn't like to admit she is a dog.

I may just have to mow. The ground was wet this morning, and again this afternoon.

    I have to rest now.

    That sounds just like Ruby.

And THAT sounds just like Ruby!

The thread title suits me today --- I'm very sleepy and tired.  Kind of a busy weekend, got to bed too late, and woke up a few times during the night (DH snoring, my usual aches and pains, etc.).  I'm glad it 's a bright, sunny day, otherwise I'd have trouble staying awake at my desk (it can be a struggle any time, but grey days are worse).

I forgot to put earrings in this morning.  Why is it that I feel practically naked just because I'm missing one small item from the rest of my attire?  I'm tempted to go buy a pair on my lunch break!  Tongue Tied

Earrings?  Really?  I'm not sure I can even get earrings IN my ears anymore!  Oh, yeah, wore some at Christmas time.  Not a big jewelry person....I'd rather have power tools.
