    Tired Friday Chat

wow I am exhausted this morning

Last night I met a couple at the lake to kayak, the skies were threatening but we decided to go out anyway Tongue Tied The waves on the lake were significant as the winds whipped up and then the thunder and lightning was all around us.  Then buckets of rain. To say that it was stupid is an understatement. It was however a great workout Confused and the worst 15-20 minutes was pretty darn bad.

I am still waiting about this contract and getting a little peeved about it. I have an upcoming conference that I would need to reschedule if the contract happens so I would really love to know what it happening!

In the meantime I am meeting a potential new client this morning so that's good

that's all I've got - it is still hot, sticky and disgusting out - overcast at the moment to boot

Working from home today.  I could totally do this on a permanent basis.  Got up at 5:00 worked for a solid 2 hours and then Riley got up.  Now we are eating breakfast and she is watching cartoons on my iphone.  Poor DH, he finally gets a day to sleep in and someone is literally jackhammering in the next complex and it is SOOOO loud.

Finally been able to open the windows.  Yesterday was cooler, but it rained (which we needed!!).  My grass is green again!  YEAH!

    Have a good one!

Hear anything yet Karen?  We've been thinking about you!

Eenie meanie miney moe.....too many chats!

This cooler air is sooooooooo awesome. I have to be in the field today and it will be great to come back not all sweaty and stinky. And we got a full days worth of rain yesterday. Talk about refreshing.

I am moving pretty slow this morning though. I am so very sleepy.

I have so much to do before this trip and so little time. I really should have done more online shopping. I hate buying clothes online though.

We are supposed to have showers today.  Fingers crossed but breath not held.  It's cooler, overcast and so very pleasant this morning!  I actually got chilly last nite!  Wahooooo!

Busy day today so off to get it started.

    Have a good day everyone.

Very shocked about the shootings in Colorado.

    Not much else.

Yeah  . . . . Mr. W and Kate have tickets to go tonight.  I'm hoping they nix it or I'll worry my way through 1/2 bottle of vodka waiting for them to get home.

It's so sad because it was mostly kids and young adults in the audience.

Work computer is junk - well, the network I'm tied into is junk.  Taking way too long to log in and work for some odd reason that nobody on the Help Desk has resolved in months - it's only gotten worse this week as they are working on others' systems this week to the point of non-functional.  sigh

So awful listening to NPR this morning, talking about the shooting in Aurora.  So bad.  Off to make sure my Denver friends are not impacted.

Just listening to the news about the shooting in Colorado. Wow, that guy really wanted to take out a lot of people and was pretty successful. So scary and so sad just imagining the panic everyone must have felt.

Jackie - I just read about Coconut and I'm feeling sad for you today. (((Hugs)))

Nothing much going on here but I'm glad it's Friday and since I'm taking Mon. & Tues. off, I'm looking forward to a nice little break.

It's just too sad and shocking about the shooting in CO.  What a horrific thing for everyone involved.

Feeling sad today about my kitty but I'm relieved that he's not suffering anymore.

I have a younger brother visiting town this weekend.  I wish I was happy about it but confess I'm not for multiple reasons too depressing to talk about.  Family can really suck sometimes.

((Jackie)) sounds like you are going to pack all your sadness into just a few days.  Wish I could say the perfect thing to make you smile.

Today on the news, we had a very strange and horrific thing happen in our small town yesterday...then the Colorado thing...then the news about the heat and drought continuing with no relief in sight.... finally one of the newscasters said " Stick around folks cause we promise that before the news is over we will find something good and happy to report"  It's pretty bad when the news folks are searching for "good" news.

Well this weekend will be filled with apples :)  Ron and I are going to spend our weekend peeling and preserving apples, lol,  Jackie...guess your not gonna make it since you have company coming.

Deb..we need to know the Tiki Bar special...hope it's cool and refreshing.

Deb, that drink sounds good, and it's a pretty color, too!  What is Campari?  I'm guessing it's sweet, or is it citrus-y?

I hadn't heard or seen any news since about 2pm yesterday, so I had no idea about the Colorado shootings until I logged into the internet when I got to work this morning.  What a horrible tragedy!  I can't even imagine the terror the people in the cinema felt.  I'll have to catch up on the full story later today -- but I saw that the shooter was arrested.  It seems like these things usually end with the shooter committing suicide or putting themselves in the position of getting killed by police.

Oddly enough, last night we went to an outdoor concert at the Portland Zoo (Grace Potter & the Nocturnals -- excellent show).  It's general admission, so there was a huge line of people waiting for gates open, and they check your bags before you enter.  They did a very cursory check of our bags, and I thought to myself, "I hope no one crazy brings in a weapon or something . . . wackos could do some major damage in a big open space crowded with people like this."  If the news broke about that shooting last night, I'm glad I missed it before going to the concert.  I would've been paranoid.  I hate thinking stuff like that, but I admit I often do when I'm in a crowded place (indoors or out).
