I forgot to mention my good news. The digestive supplements I bought for Shane arrived on Sat. and I could see postive results the very next day. Last night I was out back and found a pile of poop in the corner under a tree that I would've swore was from another dog. Never have I seen Shane's poop look so normal. I'm thrilled and just hope it lasts. When we run out of the food we're feeding, we're going to switch to one of the grain free foods and maybe we won't even need the supplements.

It's gray and really chilly this morning. It feels very fall-like and will be this way for a few days and then heat back up. It's a very nice change though.

 Busy and tired here this morning. Well, not busy any more for the rest of the day. Not too tired anymore. I'm feeling better now. I went to sleep last night at 7. I'm so glad Luke will put up with that sort of thing. My nose is no longer constantly dripping, but now my throat feels like crap probably from having this happen all night. My sinuses no longer feel absolutely horrible, but I may have to go take a hot shower every few hours to keep that going. Luke isn't going to do his therapy visit today. I don't think I have anything contagious, but I figured that's the last place I should go if I do. I'm dying for some Chik Fil A chicken noodle soup. I know that's what will cure me.

We are heading to the triple digits again today and the pain in my head is up there as well. So, I have been laying in bed all morning. If I move a muscle, the dogs get all excited thinking I am going to get up and play. I hate disappointing them every other minute. Geez. You would think they are attention deprived. Maybe if I turned the ac off they would have less energy and would leave me alone ;p

So maybe that's my problem? We're in heat wave #4 of the summer here. According to the website of the allergy doctors I go to, molds are extreme today, so that actually is probably it. 

Wawa does have my favorite soup today, Chicken Corn Chowder, but I'm thinking that's probably not what I should get today.  They also have Italian Wedding Soup, but I have no idea if I like theirs. I used to like the one at one of the supermarkets, but all of those stores have closed as of a week or two ago. There's a new place in the one near my house, and I was so disappointed when I went to check it out. The new place, in the other locations, has some of the best prepared foods in any of the local supermarkets. They also have the best bakery. This new location, the selection was minimal in comparison. I left and went to one of the other locations.

 wahoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I took B to the lake this morning and got him swimming with me as I kayaked. I totally didn't think he would ever do it but after some quizzical looks at me, the boat and the paddle (and a little accidental thunk from the paddle, oops!) he followed me away from shore. After about 25-30 ft he seemed to have this aha moment that he could just swim with no particular purpose. Hahahaha his face was brilliant and off we went. We didn't set any distance or speed records but I was thrilled.  I followed him to shore a few times and when he was swimming at the piers only to realize he couldn't get on them I called it a day. So pleased!

Other than that I am impatiently waiting to hear something about the contract job.

Went out with a friend last night which was nice and that is about that

Jackie you are making me want to buy some beds for my dogs.

I just bought Jamison one of those posturepedic memory foam beds.  He sleeps like the dead on it and seems to like sleeping on that better than in our bed, so YAY !!!!

Today is National Peach Ice Cream Day :

3 peaches (fresh, pitted)

2/3 cups vanilla ice cream

1/3 cup peach schnapps

1/3 cup vanilla vodka

1/4 powdered sugar

Put all ingredients in a blender with 12 ice cubes.

Blend until creamy.

Add sugar only if the peaches aren't sweet enough.

Enjoy !!!

that reminds me, last night I was trying to sleep while DH was snoring super loud - apnea - and Bugsy was lying next to the bed (right where I would get in and out) yipping in his dreams followed by awful gas. I wound up getting up and going to the guest bed.

It is toooooo freaking hot here.  11 AM and I need to put on fresh clothes.  Bech.

Hoping like heck we get the thunder storms tomorrow that are supposed to cool things off.....

So have I mentioned what happens to your apple tree when you have 2 frozen winters followed by 2 blistering hot dry summers?

I quickly took this on my cell this morning was too dark last night    There is 1 Apple tree left from 4 trees 20 years ago.  We usually have some apples but in the 20 years that this has been our home ....never.....have we seen it like this.  We managed to clear almost 2/3 of the tree.  still have a bushel or 2 left on the tree.  Go figure we almost lost this tree in the floods and high winds of 2011 springtime.  It is practically laying on it's side now, sure hope we can prune it and stake it so we dont loose it.

Bad way to start the morning.  Woke up, checked facebook, and learned a friend's DRU dog dropped dead this morning in the yard.  Cardio.  7 years old.  I've said it for years and this just points to it again and again - 7 is a deadly # for Dobes.  That makes two 7yr old Dobe friends dead in the last 6 weeks....

And then I just got a text that my BFF is being induced today.  Baby is fine, but her due date isn't until August 8th.  Her first (previous) baby was early (Thanksgiving when she was due the first week of January) due to preeclampsia (sp?) so now I'm doubly worried.

Oye.... what a day already and it's just noon time!

I've got two memory foam beds (downstairs with "Grandma and Grandpa";) and two bolster beds for Sinbad and Mozey upstairs with me. They love both types. They are the very large dog size-silly me thought they could share. Sinbad is having none of that. He wants his own big bed to stretch out on.

 I am trying to force myself to go to work. I have stuff that is due.  I am so comfy in my cropped jeans though. Too bad I can't go to work like this.

Paige, I am sorry about the dog! That is so sad ;(

 ok maybe I will go to work, do my stuff then come back home.
