HAD to do something with the dozen too large zuchinnis.  Those suckers grew FAST from not large enough to pick to too large to eat.

A friend of mine was telling me about the time his mother, living on the farm, planted a whole package of zucchinis. Had them stacked up like cord wood. Eventually, the neighbors lock the doors or start running when they see you coming with a bag in hand.

lol @ Mr. Cathy and the mermaids he was not ogling yesterday.

Kate, I'm on my way over!

    lol Marty!

Last week after dinner we decided to go over to MIL's to swim (she lives on a lake, only like 2 miles away.) Before we left, I changed into my swim suit and threw my clothes in a bag, and did the same with the kids. We had fun swimming, but the lake isn't the greatest swimming lake. It has a lot of iron in it, plus lots of pine trees around it so there's often a lot of pollen. I rinsed the kids off in the tub after swimming, then I took a quick shower. I started to get dressed then realized that I hadn't been wearing a bra at home so I didn't have one in the bag.

I must have had a goofy smile on my face when I came out of the bathroom, because DH said questioningly, "What?" I said I forgot to pack a bra! We all laughed, and MIL shrugged, "Well, I wasn't wearing one when you all got here!" lol! Bras are evil.

DH and I went to a wedding yesterday; one of his former band-mates. It wasn't bad, but it was definitely the most un-traditional wedding I've ever been to. It was outside, and the weather was beautiful. The colors were black and red, and there were guitar and music decorations all over. The ceremony music include Pink Floyd, Metallica, and Slayer. Surprise Big Smile Surprisingly enough, that wasn't the oddest part. The priest started out by talking about how marriage was a covenant, and what a covenant was. He went on and on about how in biblical times they would cut an animal in two halves and the people would walk through the blood. Um... that sounds like a wonderful ceremony to me. Indifferent

Lol Jan, that sounds like an interesting ceremony! To each his own, for sure.

I am feeling halfway alive finally. What a colossal waste of a beautiful day. Our temps are back to normal and the sun is shining. It is sooooo refreshing. I hope this weather hits the rest of you soon.

Paige, I have no crazy stories from last night. My bff was in town and we went to the bar for dinner and a drink then came back to my house to chat the night away over drinks and a back yard fire. We had a good time but drank way way more than is normal for either of us and we are paying the price today. We had planned on doing a long bike ride today but all we did was go out to breakfast then come back and nap. Seriously lazy but it is nice to have some bff girl time just hanging out.

Wow Jan, that does sound different than any wedding I've been to. Up until the description of a covenant though, I was thinking it sounded like a nice change ;).

Shane would have nothing to do with the Pepto. He's way more finicky than Sassy or Buffy were. So, I picked up something in a pill form at the grocery store and gave him one of those. Things seemed better the next time he went poop - yay!! Having a dog with fur like his, the matter takes on some urgency rather quickly. I'd given him a few tiny pieces of watermelon yesterday and DH says that's probably what did it. He wouldn't be saying that if he'd given it to him but maybe he's right. I did however think he was acting off when we were at training and I hadn't given it to him yet.

I came home from grocery shopping and my very lower back started hurting pretty bad. No clue why but I took some ibuprofen and laid down and crashed for an hour. It still hurts, so I've got an ice pack on it now and am determined to make it to the 2:00 meeting. I usually walk some dogs when I'm out there but with the heat and back pain, I will probably pass on that. Bummer cause they're maxed out with dogs right now.

Oh no Doug!  I don't release my zuchinni without someone absolutely BEGGING for it and then only reluctantly.  We have a big deep freeze and I grate it for bread when I have to, quarter it for stews, slice for soup, whatever to preserve it.  And, my guys are willing to eat zuchinni almost every night of the week the way I fix it, so zuchinni doesn't go to waste around here.  I only have 8 plants, maybe 10.

Our temps are much lower too, but the biggie is that the humidity is gone.  Phew.

I don't think it's quite as hot today as it was yesterday, but the heat doesn't bother me nearly as much as cold does.  Max kind of regulates his own eating when it's hot.  He only ate about half of what was in his bowl yesterday, though he still shows up for samples if anyone else is eating anything. Confused Maybe when it's hot, dog food just doesn't taste as good as chicken.

Supposedly, Sheba "stole" a pork chop out of the fridge when DS opened it to get milk for his coffee.  So he cut up a second for her.  She's been under the weather and I was thrilled Friday to get her to eat yogart, and then a cup of kibble at dinner.  Now the little stinker is holding out for meat and meat only.

Good job Sheba! Hold out for the good stuff!

Luke is not affected by the heat, mostly because we stay out of it. Also, he's been working hard this summer. Lots of swimming (due to the heat) and he's weight pulling on Thursdays, and he's got Flyball on Fridays.

Speaking of bras on the other thread, I bought three bras in Kohls the other day (half price, woohoo!). Anyway, I got three, a blue, a black, and a white. I wore the blue, that one fits nicely, the black one rides up. I haven't worn the white one yet. What's up with that? I thought they were exactly the same as some others I already have. They're not quite the same, but oh well, they're still good.
