     bwahahahahaha nice one Marty!

its  bacon and egg bagel here

This morning is the worst one yet heat/weather-wise. I sure hope the promised break occurs over the next few days

Having not taken care of the beast yesterday I had to take him out this morning. He was galloping around the house while we watched a movie last night and came to visit me at 4am. I sent him back to bed but he came flying down the hallway at 5:30. Honestly its good to see him feeling so spry, the weather has him laid out. After breakfast he was doing zoomies in and out of his pool and is now crashed out while I watch Wimbledon.

No great plans for today. The museum was ridiculously busy yesterday - not surprising - but I'll have to go back when its quieter to really see things. It is a truly amazing place, museums have come a long way since I was a kid and all you did was go and look at stuff and read index cards. This place has a ton of interactive areas, truly fascinating

coffee came out of the Keurig.

Dogs are fed and had their twice outs, cats are fed, dog dishes are washed, human dishes are finishing up in the dishwasher, a load of laundry is soaking now for when the dishwasher finishes.  Just stopped a post-breakfast wrestling match btwn the Dobe and the pug.  Once the other humans are up, I'll start mowing the lawn, but if it's high noon and they're still not up, the lawn will have to wait.  It's set to be sunny and 88 degrees today.

Learned this morning that the pug and the giant cat have zero issue with eachother and can be 2 inches apart, which allowed me to prove that the cat is bigger than the pug, although I believe the pug out-weighs the cat.

59 degrees right now and beautiful but will be 96 later today. I have a meeting out at HB at 2 and it should be pretty nasty by then. I wish they'd move the meetings up. 2:00 on Sundays is a time I'd prefer to be chilling out at home.

Shane has very loose stools this morning. It might be from the heat or ?. He acted pretty off yesterday at training too. I think I'll give him a little Pepto and see if that helps.

MIL dropped off fresh plums, pluots, lemons, tomatoes and garlic yesterday :).

Off to get ready to go grocery shopping before the crowds hit. I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.

Sinbad had the same thing a couple days ago. I am sure it was the heat--he's back to "normal" now. I hope the Pepto does the trick--it's our go-to here if I think it's the weather, too.

    Fresh plums and more---yummmmy!!!

Jackie, I'll be over in a bit for the muffins. No breakfast here yet. I'll probably end up waiting a bit and having some pizza. Or maybe I'll have something now, because I'm getting hungry now. Though, being morning doesn't stop me from eating pizza any other day.

It's back to work for me today. I had yesterday off, which was very nice. Apparently today is the last day of the heat wave, though it will be better than yesterday.

I've finally decided Luke needs a Flyball harness, but I keep having debates on the color, and I have no trust in myself to order the right size. I need to get someone else to measure him for me.

it likely is the heat - this is the first year I have found that I HAVE to feed B less or he gets soft poop. Hope he's feeling better soon.

Ugh it was 95* at 10:30 with a heat index of 105*. I really am worn out with this. The air quality is so poor, another day hiding from outside :(

Jen, my cousin in the nursing home had a visit from a Cav yesterday and she said it made her day. :)  She's more a cat person than a dog person but said this little guy could change her mind.

Maybe because our dogs are used to the heat but I've never noticed any connection between the heat and soft stools.   Hope the pepto does the trick for Shane.

My mom just came in here whining about the grass in the front of the house needing to be cut. I'm well aware, and I have noticed. We have a tiny little strip of grass out front (we ripped out the rest and put plants in. It is day 11 of a heat wave. It will be over tomorrow. While I am well aware that it needs cutting, I am also well aware that it has been ridiculously hot. Hence, I have not bothered to even touch the grass. I was going to do it tomorrow, when it wasn't ridiculously hot. She's also trying to power wash the deck. Again, I'd help, but not when it's ridiculously hot. Has she failed to notice the messes she has created indoors, in the air conditioning, which she could tackle instead of the things out in the heat? She did the grass herself just now. If she would have waited until tomorrow, I would have taken care of it, but there is no reason to get myself all sweaty over a tiny patch of grass that could have waited one more day.

Another beautiful day. Took Piper to the town park to run-too many ticks at the WMA, and need a leash while birds are nesting. The volleyball court is covered with some sort of wasp ( okay, not covered. But enough to scare me off). About two inches long, black with white stripes, and not really sociable. Some kind of sand wasp? Before the park was improved, Piper used to get her exercise chasing barn swallows around the park. The birds were catching bugs, so would fly low. They would let Piper get close, then flip a wing and leave her. Fun to watch. Now, with pest control and mowing, no swallows feeding.

Finished another set of chairs. SIL said she would like a pair, but changed her mind. Thats a good thing, cause my own set needs serious repairs. Usually I use a transparent stain to show the cedar, but decided to use a solid stain this time for more protection from the elements. I had to get a full gallon of the stain, so anything not moving quickly is getting a new look. My wife thought it would be good if "we" stained the benches also. Apparently brushes are not made to fit her hand.

My neighbor across the street has a little hairy DoxxieX. Barks a lot, occasionally comes when called, pees frequently all over her yard. This dry spell really shows the burned grass in their yard. Piper has a chosen spot she prefers-right in front of the front steps. Big dead spot. Piper is not used to the heat. That would require she spend some time out in the heat.

Zuchinni bread here.  HAD to do something with the dozen too large zuchinnis.  Those suckers grew FAST from not large enough to pick to too large to eat.

Off to weed and pick the ones that weren't large enough yesterday......
