    TGIF Chat!

    ZOMG it's Friday!

And, I'm 100% alone in the office today.  ALL DAY.  This could get interesting.

I'm worried about Ari.  She threw up this morning.  I knew she was off this morning when she didn't bounce out of bed.  Here's to hoping it was just a one time occurrence and she'll be back to her spunky self tonight.

I'm not calling this second Tuesday. lol

    From yesterday:

    cakana
I laid down and read for a bit and then crashed hard. I had dreams about the mailman delivering Christmas presents Hmm.
Ususally Christmas gifts can be about being thankful for something, or reconnecting with someone from childhood or your past.  Per my dream dictionary: To see or send a Christmas Card in your dream indicates that you are reaching out to loved ones and reconnecting with old ties. It is also symbolic of forgiveness. Time to swallow your pride and let the past go. Consider also your own associations with this holiday. To dream that receive mail indicates that you need to communicate or  re-establish contact with someone from your present or past. It may also represent messages from your subconscious or intuition.

I'm doing the other job again today.  Pretty much nobody talks to me.  I guess I should be able to get a lot done for my club's show the end of next month, but there really isn't much for me right now.  Which means I must be missing something so going off to poke thru my emails to make sure I haven't missed something. :)

    Have a great day all!

I hope Ari's tummy upset doesn't last and she feels better soon.  I wish I was alone in the office today. :)

Sheba is not doing well either.  Just seems to have zip for energy and wouldn't eat last night.  Shall try to tempt her with a bit of yogart.

Back to work for me today. Thankfully it is only one day. Then I won't be back to the office for a while. Pretty much my entire office took yesterday off and will be back in today. Unlike most offices, fridays and mondays are pretty much the only days people are actually there. So, I expect to be busy.

First, I need to get to work though. I'm debating on driving or riding. Do I want to be all sweaty? I have been lazy all week it seems. Plus I am running behind schedule. Hmmm

    Have a good day all!

Day two of major headache.  It seems to have settled behind my left eye and is throbbing to some type of jungle beat.  Nothing is even touching it.  I tried migrane meds - nope, regular motrin - nope, sinus meds - nope.  I ended up taking a sick day since I was off this afternoon anyway with doctor appts.  There is NO ONE in the office so I don't even think anyone will notice.

I think Todd and I have decided where we are going next year for our 40th bday.  Our birthdays are only a few days apart so it should be fun.  We are going back to Cancun but we decided to throw all our alone vacation budget into one basket and upgrade to a fancier hotel (The Royal).  It is pretty sweet and we spent a good portion of our night after Riley went to sleep oohhhing and aaahhhing over it.

This will probably be our last big alone vacation for awhile.  Now that Riley is getting older our options to take her places have opened up.  I have a feeling the big Disney - budget busting - trip will be scheduled for 2014.  Wheee  I know we sound like dorks planning so far in advance but - yeah, we are dorks and need time to save up LOL

Hope everyone has a good day and keeps cool.  We are heading to 100 degrees today with 70% humidty already - break out the sprinklers and pools.

Seems DH has the grumpies today - that is never good as his brooding emanates

    Guess what?

.................it's hot Paradise next three days 102,104,103 will be 9 straight days of 100+

I cannot imagine how awful it is for those STILL without power. I can't understand why it is taking so long in areas like DC, truly you would expect a major city to be better prepared

I wanted to kayak first thing today but of course I need to take Beastie out and we wound up meeting half the universe out there so I'll try for tomorrow. The air is code orange or something so I try not to exert myself during the daytime hours. I do think the heat and air quality are an issue for my headaches, etc.

Sharon and Glenda if you are having extreme heat the dogs just may be suffering from it too. Bugsy is eating about 1/2 - 2/3 of his norm during the heat wave and is fairly lethargic during the day. Kind of like what they do to you on long distance flights LOL

eta Lisa that sounds pretty bad - make sure you take care of yourself. Is your blood pressure OK?

Good vibes for Ari and Sheba.

Bummer about the headache, Lisa. Maybe it's a combination of the excessive heat and a/c? I know that's been giving me headaches lately. Your vacation sounds awesome, though!

I've got another mile-long to-do list today. Happy Friday everyone!

I hope all the sicky people and pups are feeling better.

Tomorrow should be the last day of the 11 day heat wave I think, and the hottest day, 100 degrees. I have  a pool party to take Luke to, meaning he can actually get in the pool, at 11. I wish it had been a different day, because I'm only staying a half hour. I have one of my best friend's son's birthday parties at 1, and it's an hour away. He turned 1 on July 4th. No way I can skip that party, not that I want to. We've been friends since 8th grade, and I was in her wedding. I just wish I had more time to take Luke swimming. I'm interested to see what he does in a pool. He swims in natural bodies of water, but he's never done a pool before. I'm hoping the birthday party isn't outdoors considering how hot it will be.

I am so not looking forward to work today, and I am so glad I took tomorrow off for the birthday party. They keep their air at about 78. That's fine if you are on the main floor, but upstairs, it's torture. I often go home dripping with sweat, even with the fans, unless I decide we're going to work in the basement. Today might just have to be a basement day.

Yeah - I definitely think that's what it is Jan.  When I am inside or outside for an extended period of time its manageable - one type/pressure.  But its when I go from one to the other it seems to build.

It's going to be 82 here on Sunday - will have to break out the the winter coats and gloves LOL

I too hope the pups and people feel better soon and it's nothing serious.

Lisa - I think the excitement of planning a vacation and the anticipation is sometimes the best part. Can I go with you next year?

A very wonderful woman with a huge heart and a gift for painting passed away yesterday. Not only was she gifted but she was extremely generous. When the twin foals were born in San Diego, she painted them and their dam several times and auctioned the paintings off to help cover the cost of their care. Rest easy Melva - you touched more lives than you ever knew.

I'm going to take Shane for an early walk and then see if I can get my knee x-ray done. Hopefully that won't take too long. It's heating up today and will be 100 on Sunday. I have training with Shane tomorrow and then a meeting out there on Sunday at 2. It's going to be yucky hot both days :(.

Another triple H day. Yesterday afternoon my power went out at home. I don't have a/c anyway, but without the fans going or a breeze it was a wee bit warm. Consumers Energy estimated repair at 11:30p tonight, but it was back on again shortly after 8:15p last night. Consumers is good, and I appreciate it.

Hope all those feeling under the weather, humans and pets alike, start doing better.

Ice cream or frozen margaritas for dinner - I can't decide. Wink

OMG, what is this world coming to?  A 12 yr old girl died when her home burned...her 17 yr old sister was suspected after she stole the family car and left.  An autopsy just showed that the 12 yr old was shot multiple times before being doused with gasoline and set on fire.  The 17 yr old was found and is now jailed.  This is in  a nice, newer subdivision.

How does a parent deal with that?
