    Early Garden Harvest (NDR)

Here are a couple pictures of part of the harvest from yesterday and today:

A few fresh potatoes (not washed yet :-) They will become hot German potato salad shortly.

    Fresh potatoes

Garlic on the drying rack (best use for a clothes drying rack I can think of :-) Once they are cured (about 2 weeks), then I'll clean them up, cut off the roots and leaves, and store. I have more to harvest, but it's not quite ready yet.

    New garlic

Edited to fix typos. I am sure there are more.

Oooh, what fun! All I have yet is flowers on my pea plants and green tomatoes smaller than a golf ball. Big Smile

The W family is having fried pork chops and one of the side dishes is new potatoes in garlic butter sauce.

Kate:  I'm buying the cow so we can make butter - and moving myself and Jamison up with you and Mosey and Sinbad.  That wouldn't be a problem would it ???

    Deb W.

PS:  just to sweeten the pot - I'll bring all my air conditioners !!!

Nice haul, Kate. You shouldn't have to worry about vampires and Deb can show you how to make vodka out of the taters. lol

Janice, our tomatoes are the same--about the size of a golf ball on a couple of the early plants. The others haven't set fruit yet. (I planted them really late.) We didn't get a lot of peas--the weather was too hot too early. I hope you get a good crop!

Deb, come on up! The cow can live in the front yard. Jamison, we'll get you your very own couch. The garlic butter sauce with potatoes sounds wonderful...might have to make that, too! Jackie-that is too funny! I guess the still could get a bit complicated... :-)
