Janice, sounds like you had a great day --- topped off by the visit with Deisel!  I would love to cuddle an 8-week old black lab (but I would also be glad handing him back to the new owners . . . they'll be VERY busy for a while!).  You'll get to enjoy all the best parts of him when you visit the daycare -- all the snuggling and none of the hard work!

I saw that headline about TomKat.  No thanks on the 4th wife offer (not that I'd get one -- I'm not young enough, nor am I hot enough!).  He's a piece of work . . . I wish one of his ex-wives would write a tell-all.  Something's not right behind that facade, in my opinion.

Blech - no way! Good for Katie but she hung in there a lot longer than I would have.

I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.  He's heavily into scientology and she wasn't raised in that particular belief, so I think that would be a really hard adjustment to make. I might be wrong, but I always felt like they were pretty controlling as far as dealing with the women and children in their lives.

Mr. City Inspector was here by 10 a.m. and on his way by 10:20 - thank dawG. He was only here to inspect the heater/ac unit, but he checked to see that all the bedrooms had the necessary smoke detectors and that there was a carbon monoxide detector in the hall so he did his job.  Fortunately, I had DS #2 get on a ladder last night to make sure that they all had batteries.

BTW: My cousin in Colorado Springs is safe...whew*** so glad!

 106 here...weatherman was really off when he said 101 as a high.  I know it's only 5 degrees, but we weren't under a heat advisory (?) and now we are.   It might be all in the mind...

Anyway, thank goodness for a fairly new heat pump!  Ummm, that didn't sound right...I think we need a name change for that system!

Something about him is just off. The person he puts out to the public seems like a total act.

DH isn't home tonight, so I'm on my own for dinner.  I hate to cook and there are no leftovers in the fridge, so it's quite possible dinner will be frozen yogurt with lots of toppings . . . or maybe I should try to get a better balanced meal and pick up some Thai food on my way home.

Womans gymnastics this weekend. Wohoo.

I got an order I'd placed from Kohl's this afternoon. It felt like Christmas. I was super happy that the chair cushions I ordered look better than I'd expected. I saw them in the store a couple weeks ago but there was no way I was paying $27.99 for one cushion. They went on sale and with an extra 20% off, I got them for about $8 - yay!! and they look great. Sadly, the sandals are just a tad too big but not big enough that a smaller size would work, so I just have to return them :(.

We got home from dinner to find Gabby girl's face all swollen.  Poor girly must have gotten bitten by something but I can't imagine when or what.  She was fine before we left and was in her crate while we were gone.  I gave her a Benadryl and hope it goes away soon. 

I can't shake my rotten mood today.  I think I'll go to bed early and hope for a better day tomorrow.

I'm running (well jogging and perhaps some walking lol) in a 5k tomorrow. I've never ever been a runner but since joining the Y in February, I started jogging/walking once a week. I loosely followed the Couch to 5k program, and I can't believe how much it has helped. 

I'm not really shooting for any certain time; I just want to give it a try to see how I do. After the 5k/10k is a kids half mile run that Willa is going to do.
