About 2 1/2 months ago our older son found a tiny puppy in their front yard. He figured it had wandered away from one of the neighbors, but nobody knew a thing about her. She wa pretty skinny and had fleas. He went to vet and go stuff to get rid of fleas andgot some puppy food. They planned to find a home fo "the little peanut", but I guess you know wht happened. They fell in love with her.
He took her to the vet and she was given her first puppy vax. Vet said nobody paid for vax and then dumped a dog. He figured she wa about 7 or 8 weeks old. Well 2 days later she was a very sick puppy, diagnosis, PARVO. Was put in ICU on drip with all kinds of meds and the vet din't hold out much hope for her But that little girl was a true fighter and made a miracle turn around and was home a few days earlier than the vet thought could ever be possible--if she made it.
She was under 5 pounds when son got her from hospital. Took her in last week and she was up to 8 pounds. She is a real trip, I tell you and just adores my son, DIL and two grandkids......and the family cat, That is anothr story--son found tiny kitten in prking lot of a local store, took it home so it wouldn't gt run over, tried to find a home, they fell inlove with "that little critter" and ended up keeping her. this was like 2 years ago. Critter and Peanut play together all the time. Vet is really pleased with her progress--acting like a normal active, healthy appetite puppy.
This pic was taken with son's cell phone and isn't the best, but only picture I hae of Peanut. I hae now idea why the date is off not only bymonthand day, but by the year. Was only taken last week.
