    Mid-week chatter

From yesterday, I thought I was bad with 70k miles on a 2008! Geez. Most of my miles come from sar although I do drive a lot for work. Today is telework day. It was supposed to be go out in the field and sweat your ass off day but I had enough of that yesterday. I will reschedule for a day thats not going to feel like I am in an oven Today is starting off with 2 dogs barking at every noise outside. I may toss them in the back yard for a bit of piece and quiet.

    Hot - check

Glad I work in an office with a/c - check

Julie, my truck is a 2004 and I have a hair under 32,000 miles on it. Of course, I have no life. Tongue Tied

Enjoy Summer Solstice! (it appears it is hot everywhere) Summer is kind of the season you endure here - the other 9-10 months are more comfortable

B & I were out at 5:30 - nice and bright and happily no fox encounters. We did meet a few friends and have several deer sightings. I love early morning. He is totally wiped out from yesterday - a busy morning with the 84lb 12 mo old pup then last evening the baby golden and Dottie the foster pup were out playing and came over. After about 30 minutes of enduring two shark like pups he was like, "OK you're good, thanks for visiting, good night" Makes me feel better that he will locked up for 8-10 hrs today

I've done 10,500 this year which is more than I have been averaging of late. I have had a few years where I was doing 30k a year - thank goodness that car got great gas mileage! DH has a work car so his car does no miles. I think he should sell it

Gas prices have been falling - last time I filled up it was $3.27 - a huge change from a few months ago when it was about $4

    have a good one

    That is all.

Hot.  Humid.  Borderline miserable, but we'll get there later in the day.  The kitchen is closed.  Any food will be prepped on the grill outside today and tomorrow.  We seriously need central air in this house.

Busy day today so off and running.  Have a good one all.

There was a news story that said gas prices were dropping everywhere except the midwest. Gas is still $3.70 ish here. Makes me sick

I would kill for $3.27 a gallon.  I paid $3.63 yesterday at Meijer.

Not too much going on lately.  I have a meeting tonight with all my high school friends to talk about our 40th birthday trip.  There is about 10 of us and we are going on a 3-day cruise next year without the hubbys/boyfriends/kids.  Should be a blast.  My one friend owns a travel agency so I won't even have to think about the planning stage and just cut my check.

The last time we all went on a cruise together was spring break our senior year in High School.  Fortunately, we are all successful enough that we can just do 2 per room vs. 4.  I've already picked my roomie buddy so I am good to go!  Now I just have to wait until November 2013 LOL

Hot, humid, and sunny today.  I wouldn't have it any other way.

Well, prices have finally started dropping here too but they're still that much or higher.

I'm working from home today and loving that I don't have to make the commute. I don't have a super lot to do either, so it'll be a relaxing work day and a nice break.

It's supposed to be close to 100 today but then starts dropping tomorrow and only in the mid 70s this weekend. That's going to be a super nice change and I plan to get a lot done outside.

Karen we're early birds too.we took our usual lap around the woods at 5:45 and I must have said leave it 40 times. What is so yummy about sandhill crane poop?Gas prices are still up there but it's the cost of groceries that really seems to have taken a big leap in the past few years and they never seem to come back down. There's a hayfield up wind that's blowing the sweetest clover smell in my windows.

Hot and humid here but normal for this time of year.  The mosquitos are terrible.  Our predicted rain seems to have fizzled out at least in our neck of the woods.  Farmers all have decent hay crops and most are cutting and baling.  The rains we got earlier this Spring saved a lot of ranchers and farmers from throwing in the towel.

My cousin is still in the hospital.  No word on when she may get released.  In other not so good news, the man who recommended and insured DH got his promotion and new position is in intensive care with a possible heart attack.  He had just been released from the hospital after surgery for something unrelated.  I feel so bad for him and his family.  He's probably one of the nicest people I've ever met and helped me so much when DH was hospitalized and recovering from his brain aneurysm.

Good lord, my dealership sent me an email to congratulate me on the year anniversary and said ""Say hi to your Forester for us and pass along a BIG HUG from all of us at xxx Subaru." weirdos.

Jackie, I'm sorry to hear about the man who had a heart attack.  I get upset thinking about good people enduring health issues like that.  We need more good people in the world, to be examples for the rest of us.  I hate when their lives are threatened by illness.  My good wishes for him and a full recovery.

Special vibes for his family and prayers for a full recovery!

Keeping fingers crossed we have a chance for rain tomorrow.

In other news, Rocky is doing so well with the leave it command...that is most days.  Last night while going to get something from the van he went into "stalking" mode.  I glanced around and saw a wabbit Wink  I said, "Leave it Rock"  "we have to get something out for Dad" and he did.  LOL, he usually will not pay attention right away and I have to remind him.

We all met a new neighbor yesterday when I got home.  His name is Blitz and he is now 7 months old and he is a mini me to Hot Shot.  He is a full blood  Entlebucher Mountain Dog which is the smallest of the Mountain Dogs.  I had heard he was transported here to one of the farmers who recently lost his Entlebucher and he came from Germany I believe.  Anyway we had Blitz, checking out Hot and Rock and Magiie who  all met me at the mailboxes, trying to figure out why I wasnt following normal routine when I came home.  I had seen the farmer's truck on our dirt road and stopped to see the pup.  Everyone was sniffing and play bowing and having a great time then I ruined everything when I loaded the boys up and headed up our drive.

Quick stop to say hi--I have major grading to finish today!

Hot and humid here--there is a bit of a breeze off the water so that's helping. Fans are on and the front curtains are closed, too. No AC at home or at the office :-(  Tomorrow's supposed to be worse and I have to take Sinbad off island for his acu appt. Yuck!

My car is a late 2006 and has 113K. I'd love a new one but can't seem to justify it. It's a Subaru and it should last for a long time.

Lisa, I think I remember 40...it was a long time ago :-)  Have fun planning your trip! How's Riley doing?

OK, the papers are not grading themselves. Hugs for all who need them.

You're making me think of the current class I'm assisting in.  We have a St Bernard, a Bernese Mountain Dog, and a St Bernard/Great Pyrenees (owner has a Leonberger puppy at home.)  The GSD is a dwarf compared to those guys.

I must be having caffeine problems - I've got a 28oz iced coffee and a 20oz iced tea at my desk right now.... Indifferent
