A few photos and videos including "perimeter patrol"

I have this gate to protect the 'new' hardwood floor we had put in the front living room a few years back.  Of course, nothing keeps Tasha out.  She is back and forth through the middle, wider gap all day long.  Sometimes, for whatever reason, she decides she is "stuck in jail" and insists one of us go open the gate to let her out of that room and back in to the kitchen.

She can whine and whimper for ages!

Wish this wasn't so shaky, it is a nice pic of Willy.

Bobby goes up atop the fridge regularly, but in the morning he races up there and that is where I give him his breakfast treat.

Here are the last videos of Chestnut; things started happening about this time - April 15 - and I never got to share these with you.  Each morning, Chestnut would go out in the back yard with the dogs and do "Perimeter Patrol."  He checked every inch of the fencing, all the way around.  This is in 2 parts, as I didn't know how long he'd be behind the shed.

Unlike Sugar and Marlin, Chestnut had not been sick, and his passing was quite sudden.  Add that on top of the loss of the 2 dogs, and it was quite a difficult time.

Maybe Tasha was feeling a bit bloated that dayStick out tongueYou know ,like when your favorite jeans don't fit? If that kitty's name is Tuppence I have to say I like that name. How are you handling your losses Sandy? I lost my lab 6 weeks ago and still it hits me hard sometimes and at the most inopportune times.I'll be at work taking care of a customer and start to tear up.I've taken to telling people I have allergies just so they let it go.

Thank you for asking!  Seems it is never a dull moment around here; been a hard 2 months.  April 30, Sugar and Marlin.  May 15, Chestnut.  June 7, my Dad landed in ICU for 5 days, then 2 days in hospital and is now in Rehab.  And as of yesterday, major house renovation happening, as it made sense to do it while Dad is out.  So the furniture is all piled up in the living room while they work in the family room.  Crazy!

I do think about the losses.  It has been a bit easier re Sugar and Marlin as it was clearly their time, I had a week or so to prepare.  Chestnut, well, things didn't go well, it was quite sudden, mix up at the vet's made it even worse.  I try not to think about him during the day times; at night I tear up thinking how he suffered at the end there.

I know for me, having 9 cats and 3 dogs still here keeps me moving -- they all make sure they get their attention!  Plus, it means I have someone to hug at the sad times.

I am sorry for your loss, as well.  It is never easy no matter what or when.
