But she has to come off the prednisone for the antibiotics to work on the infection.  Her owner is terrified that she will be better from the cancer, but die from this infection.  Temperature was coming down, but last call last night was it was slightly elevated again up to 104.

why?  Dogs with IMHA take pred and all sorts of immune-suppressors and then have to take antibiotics all the time!!  That honestly shouldn't be -- she can take pred with many antibiotics.

I honestly don't know.  Perhaps her owner misunderstood which med was suppressing the ability of which other med, I didn't hear this in first person, and she's frazzled so maybe she misunderstood?  Dunno.  I did ask which antibiotic she was on, and her owner sort of crumbled and went into this spiel about how she doesn't question which med b/c that's too much info for her brain to comprehend - the vet is the professional and she trusts her to do her job, etc.  So, I just backed off and left it alone.  I'm waiting to hear how the dog is doing.

Gawd, this day is creeping by!

She likely will just have to be on it longer.  But she's immune-suppressed b/c of the pred so infections are likely.  Holler at me email if I can help with this, or if you think she'd want someone to talk to.  I hate to think of her being so upset.  (and I know you live with this *hugs*)

Thanks for the b-day wishes and happy birthday Karen!

Day is going pretty good.  I spent most of the day in meetings and I think I might skip out a little early.  We are heading out for pizza tonight so that should be fun.  Plus Todd and Riley made me a chocolate cake which I can't wait to try!

happy Birthday to Deb and Lisa, and to everbuddy else having b'days today!

For those of you who wanted to send Zoey cards, I have the address so if wanted, just shoot me an email and I send it to you.

It is overcast and a bit humid here, but it's ONLY 71 degrees!  That's after 91 yesterday and brutal humidity.

Took me wayyyy too long to figure out that I don't have a head cold that just won't quit.  My allergies are going absolutely BS wild on me this year.  I could deal with MOST of it, but when I get those dry, wracking coughs that are totally unproductive, other than to make me leak a bit Embarrassed.  Have a call into the doctors office for my "magic pills" that quell the darned cough.

I doubt it is simple enough to even suggest this over the internet from 1000 miles away with little other medical info about the dog. IMO, Cora's owner needs to follow her vet's advice and get a second doctor's opinion if necessary.

Happy birthday to Karen & Lisa! Yummo to chocolate cake.

    I love my doctor.

    That is all.

Happy Birthday, Karen and Lisa!  Pizza and chocolate cake sound like a great celebration dinner to me!

Janice, my husband snores most nights, too.  I'm a light sleeper, and it really disrupts my sleep, so I can sympathize with you.  Last night I had to tug at the covers and his pillow twice during the night to get him to roll over.  Sometimes it takes more than that, and I have to use a bit more force.  Of course, he can sleep through anything.

Paige, I'm sorry to hear that Cora has an infection.  Sending good thoughts her way.

Cathy, if you figure out how you unexpectedly lost 5 pounds, please let me know.  That's how much I'd like to lose, but my walking and gym routine isn't working.  I fear it may involve kicking my chocolate habit (**shudders**).

Speaking of chocolate, between the cool temps outside (58 degrees) and the A/C in the office (yes, it runs even on cool days), I'm going to make a cup of hot cocoa right now!

Here's a little tip that worked wonders for me. Devil  Reach over and tug on a single chest hair!

Woke up to a steaming pile of you know what and I left a bedroom window open and it poured last night. 4th cup of coffee and it's 1245pm. Could be a 8 cup day.

Thanks for the suggestion, Glenda, but DH doesn't have any hair on his chest.  Maybe the same technique would work on his head.  He does have longish hair.  I'll keep that in mind!  Smile

Jackie, I meant to ask you if Belle tossed the dug-up plant/flower around like a toy after she de-potted it.  Ruby will dig up shallowly planted tubers, bulbs, and small, young plants.  Then she runs around the yard tossing them in the air and catching them, shaking them, gnawing on them, then tossing them again -- with far more enthusiasm than she does with a "real" toy.  It's funny, but it's also annoying since she has wrecked some plants.  And, I worry about the toxicity of some of the things she puts in her mouth.  I always take them away when I catch her doing it and give her a proper toy, but she always looks dejected.  Smile

     Happy birthday Karen and Lisa.

I'm headed to the Devils game tonight!!! I finally got the work done that I needed to do. I took me 4.5 hours to do 2.5 hours of work. I'm so unfocused. I got bit by a kid this morning. He's never done that to me before, and apparently, it's been a long time since he last did that to anyone. I wish I didn't work with idiots on that one, and worked with people who had a clue. I think I hear my dad home now. Yes, that's the kind of mental jumping around day I am having.

Tracy, she was in the process of shredding the plant when Rex tattled on her. lol  Gabby is the one who will do like Ruby and play with the plants she digs up, tossing them and racing around like she had the best toy in the world. She and Ruby just don't appreciate garden plants like we do. lol She even reaches through the fence and breaks off limbs to play with. Sad I never used to have to worry about any previous dogs destroying my plants but since Belle I've had to garden in an area that is fenced off from the dogs.  The plant Belle destroyed is one I had just set on a little patio table this past weekend.  Silly me to think she'd leave it alone.

Charles would have to be scraped off the ceiling if I plucked out a chest hair to stop his snoring. lol  His snoring is not too bad with the nose strips and usually stops when he gets the elbow in the side treatment.

I can't believe I have to call Sprint again.  Crying

    Good vibes for Cora, Paige.

My samoyed used to love to dig up everything and then prance around with it in her mouth. She especially loved the newly planted stuff. Her best trick was to pull up the drip irrigation tubing. She could manage to pull up 30 feet of it from one place. The planter area would looked untouched except for one hole and the tubing would just be laid out like a big piece of spagetti on the lawn. My ex would spend hours putting it back in and I'd watch her sit and stare at him and knew she was planning for the next time Stick out tongue

Good thoughts for Cora and Gracie.

Their engineering department was supposed to call us but that never happened.  I never even got a confirmation email.  :(
