Oh no Cathy I didn't realize you were having a GI issue with Shane? Poor guy and poor you! Hopefully its easily treated

OK so storms rolled in about 1 - it is now approaching 7 and I *think* they are past us. I was so hoping B would have a restful day prior to heading to the beach :(

I finally gave him a trazedone after lightning hit a tree outside our bedroom. It stripped the bark off the tree and there is a huge hole at the base of the tree.  The sound and feeling when it happened were absolutely awful. A few TV's are blown, don't have the heart to check much else at this point.

Bugsy's fear of lightning sure isn't going to get better after this Sad

I was chuckling Paige, reading about the family camps because when DH first mentioned "the camp" I had NO clue what it was.  Camp= cottage/cabin/summer house.

What a fun day!  The staff of the newspaper I sell and write for all went down to the newspaper who actually does our printing (about 2.5 hours away), did the nickle tour (it was really good for those who are new to the biz to see how the plates are burned, the presses running, etc) they fed us pizza and had a Happy Anniversary cake for us.  Today is the first anniversary of the paper, which is pretty cool in todays economy for a weekly, free paper.  We brought this weeks edition back with us and really had a fun, fun day!  And was really a pretty day for the drive too.  And gosh, I had forgotten how darned good I look in a skirt!  Will have to do that more often!

Cathy, I'm glad you're taking Shane in to your vet.  You might try cutting back on his food a little.  With all the training you've been doing, he may be getting too much which can cause loose stools.  That's incredibly lucky about that man who had the heart attack.  The fine line between life and death is pretty scary when you think about it.

Karen, I'm so sorry about the terrible storms and their effect on poor Bugsy.  I've got a few ideas to kick around with you about it when you get back from the beach if I don't forget them by then. lol   I'm sending lots of no more storm vibes your way.

Bummer. I know how stressful it can be and hope you can shake it off and get a good night's sleep.  Families are really the best and the worst all rolled into one messy ball.

I'm better already, thanks :) just had a good talk with my bro who is a lot like me. We see eye to eye on almost everything so he helped remind me of what is not important and what is. Gotta love people like that.

Wow Jen - you're way better than I am with this kind of stuff. My DH is like that though and has saved us a lot of money with DIY repairs.

Honestly, I don't do much, but my a/c now blows ice cold air. Like ice cold. I figured out how to do it. I had the hose backwards, and I was trying to attach the end that goes on the can to the thing on the car. Once I turned it around and put the correct end on the car, it worked. I forgot just how cold the a/c in my car can be, and I was pretty excited as I drove it this afternoon, and it was so cold I had goose bumps. It was amazing. Unfortunately, I broke the stripped screw remover, so I did not replace the air filter today. For my next project, I would like to try to replace my air intake hose. It 's cracked, and the part is $35. I'm sure to have someone do it, they'd rob me. A lot of the stuff I know how to do, I figured out on the internet. Wikihow, and ehow are excellent for this sort of stuff.  Last month, I had someone replace lights for me for the second time in my life. There were 4 lights out, and Meineke doesn't rob you as bad as some of the other places. I wish someone would do my air filter, but nobody will touch that thing now.
