Sharon, have you checked Kohl's? I just bought a Nike tankini and board shorts with the built-in liner. They're 50% off right now, at least at the one near me.

Sharon - I had a horrific bathing suit buying experience, myself, but I also had luck at Kohl's.  Lots and lots of tankini styles there, and I know I saw womens board shorts.  That was the store in *edit - MILTON - who knows, I don't know anything up that way*.  I dunno, I was driving down from visiting my mom's camp and stopped to shop a little.  Gracie was w/me, so all my windows were down, sunroof open, when that torrential sudden downpour came thru on Sunday.  My interior was soaked!   *Edit - Milton isn't really close to you if you're near Concord, but I'm sure the Kohl's out there is better anyway!

Grrr... I am trying to replace my air filter, which is super long overdue. 3 of the 4 screws were stripped by some idiot, I assume at Jiffy Lube (because they came out one time and told me the screws were stripped, and they couldn't get it out-not that I ever have them do it). I got 2 of the 3 stripped screws out using a flat head screwdriver. There is one still stuck. I guess now I need to go out to Sears and get a stripped screw remover set. Or maybe the little private hardware store in town or Ace has it. I'd rather go to either of those since they are half the distance and near the Farmer's Market I'd like to get lunch at.

Paige - there's a Kohls in Tilton, which is about 30 minute drive south of me.  I could use some more black pants for work, so I'll force myself out for clothes shopping (I actually hate shopping, so force is pretty accurate lol).  While I love my curves, it's just so darn hard to find right fitting clothes.  I'm a plus size in dresses for the most part, but not just pants and for most tops.  I'm in this really weird in between size that doesn't really exist at the moment.  More motivation to lose weight - easier to find right fitting clothes!

Julie - I'll be thinking good thoughts for you today. (((Hugs)))

Sending calming vibes for Riley today too.

A male and female duck are back. I don't think it's the ones who'd been there before but I can't really tell. Last night, another male duck showed up and the 2 males started chasing each other around the patio table. It was pretty interesting to watch and didn't last long before one of the males flew away.

I'll probably start a post in the health section but I have been trying to firm up Shane's poop since I brought him home. I switched his food and I've added some canned pumpkin to every meal. It'll start to firm up but then get soft again. This morning it was pudding-like Hmm.

I'm taking tomorrow off. I've got the vacation days and I just have too much going on this weekend. I want to make DH a carrot cake from scratch on Sat., even though his BD isn't until Wed. I also have to cook 4 lbs of bacon for the pancake breakfast fundraiser at HB on Sun. and then I'm working the fundraiser and need to be there at 8 AM.

Thanks for the suggestions on the cuff and thermometer.  We actually already practice at home all the time.  Your vibes worked though, they got weight, height, temp (under arm) and blood pressure!

The good news:  No new sites have been found - we are still just dealing with the knee

The bad news:  She is going to have to have a procedure where they drain the liquid from her knee and inject her with steroids.  So far, we have been able to avoid the whole steroid thing and stick with NSAIDS.  However, with her recent growth spurt, her right leg (the infected leg) has grown signigicantly longer than her left leg. That's what the arthritis does, it causes overgrowth.  In order to avoid long term exposure to steroids (via pill or injection) we have to try this procedure.  It may not work; however, if it does that will be great!  If it doesn't she will have to get weekly injections or if I can get her to take a pill she can do that instead.  Because of her age and her ability to take swallow pills whole (she's been doing it since she was 3 - which is odd they say for that age) I would prefer the pill form.  If we don't do anything and keep the course, her leg will continue to grow faster and she could end up with a lot of issues later.

I am waiting for the hospital to call me to schedule.  The one thing I am grateful for is that we are dealing with U of M.  I know that the best will be working on her and on her treatment.  The absolutely scary thing is they will have to put her under to do the procedure.  That scares me to death.

     ((((JULIE)))  Thinking of you today

Julie I hope the travel is without incident and the day isn't as bad as you expect. (((hugs)))

Lisa - I am so sorry - I can't say what I am thinking dang dang dang - is similar but not as effective.

I will be praying that this injection works! Bugsy wants to give her some kisses to make her feel better!

I just read that Donna Summer died :(

My dad loved her music and I can recall dancing with him while listening to her

Off to the beach tomorrow - I am so looking forward to nothing

Took B to the lake this morning with the baby golden - oh what fun!

This may not help much but I think for procedures like this they use the lowest dose of the fast acting stuff. General anesthesia is so much better than it was when I was young. People I know who have had colonoscopies say they went out and woke up a short time later and felt fine. I hope it'll be the same for Riley and I pray the treatment works.

    Sad about Donna Summer :(

So once again I'm sitting in the back of my mom's 18 wheeler. LOL On the way to pick up my pup. And I have a corgi cuddled up to my side..

Hugs to Julie and all those who need them today

Lisa, I'm glad that Riley did okay with all the poking and prodding at her appointment and that they didn't find any new sites, but I'm sorry that she has to undergo some more involved procedures.  I don't blame you for being afraid of the anesthesia.  I know how I felt when our dog had to go under -- I can't imagine how afraid I'd be if I was a mother.  DH's niece had countless surgeries during her childhood, and she was such a trooper from all the doctor and hospital visits.  I bet Riley is a tough little cookie, too!

My sympathies to anyone doing bathing suit shopping.  I'm grateful that I have a lifestyle that doesn't require bathing suits.  No, I don't frequent nude beaches! Stick out tongue  I just live somewhere where it's too cold to swim in the ocean, I don't have a pool or any friends who do, I don't take vacations to beach locales, and I've been in a hot tub maybe 3 times in the past 20 years.  I do own a suit, but it's buried in a drawer, probably disintegrating.

Today is my Friday.  I haven't taken a day off since my sister was here in mid-January, so I thought I was due.  Nothing especially fun planned, just several errands that I can never seem to squeeze in the afternoons or weekends.  I could actually use a week to tackle all that's on my list, but I'll do what I can tomorrow!

ROTF....that is me to a Tee!  I think it is black and white but cant even be sure about that and what did fit ok 20 years ago would not be appropriate now, ugh!

     {{Lisa, Riley and Julie}}

I would love to have a wellness day, today.......have one coming up next friday.   I will be one year older next Tues so I will take off the following Friday.  No plans but to play in the dirt for 4 days with no interuptions :)

I dont recall having any takers earlier in the week when I asked for someone to come clean out my house Stick out tongueWink

I wish I had the motivation....

heheeh - my sister and brother-in-law own a boat and lakeside camp, so they and their kids go wakeboarding and kneeboarding all thru the summer.  It's the best way for me to see my sister and her family. :)  Then my parents own a camp on another lake and they have a fishing boat, too.  I'm also planning a vacation to a beach/pool oriented location, but that will require a new bathing suit b/c I plan to be thinner by the time that happens!!

(((Julie))) Sharon, I get my swimsuit stuff at LL Bean's. I am super hard to fit and I've had good luck there. It does cost though. Sinbad has his acu appt in a couple minutes so I gotta go.

I'm willing to spend some money on the swim shorts.  Not a ridiculous amount, because I am steadily losing weight and by next year it won't fit (that's right WON'T because I WILL reach my goal weight in a year's time Big Smile )

Lisa, glad it went well, but that stink that she has to get put under.

I went out and bought the stripped screw remover to get the screw out to replace my air filter. This was working great, until I broke the stupid tool. I actually got it to move just a tiny bit, but not enough that I can grab it with something else and get it out of there. So, I need to go back to Lowe's and get a new tool.

I also bought refrigerant and was going to recharge my a/c. My dad said take it somewhere.  I say no way. I can do this myself for a lot less money... if I could get the stupid gauge onto the port,  but of course I can't. I guess if I can't get it on there at all, I can just take the thing back to Wal-Mart. If I can, that's great. There's no loss either way here.

Wow Jen - you're way better than I am with this kind of stuff. My DH is like that though and has saved us a lot of money with DIY repairs.

I went ahead and made Shane an appt. for tomorrow. I think it's a good idea to have him checked by my favorite vets even if he'd been checked by the one at HB. I'm going to take a stool sample in and I'm actually hoping something shows that we can treat. If it doesn't, I'll need to start thinking food allergies and that's a road I'd rather not go down.

I was out taking Shane for a walk here and ran into a woman who handles the office leasing for the complex. She told me her husband had a major heart attack 2 weeks ago. He was playing basketball with their 2 sons and collapsed. The boys did CPR until the ambulance arrived and they had to shock his heart 2x before they could even transport him. The dr. told them that he was in the 5% of those that survive and was a verrryyyy lucky man. Whew!!
