Hump Day Chatter

A local 10 yr boy was sent to the principal's office around noon yesterday, but instead he walked out of the school and is still missing.  Police and volunteers have been searching for him with no luck. Dogs and helicopters, too.    I was really hoping he would miraculously show up at school this morning knowing he could get some breakfast...  They believe he is just scared and not abducted, but the longer this goes, abduction could happen.  Kit, let someone find you and take care of you...

Oh no!  Safe vibes and prayers for Kit

I hope Kit is found safe and sound. And soon.

I hope he is found too and soon!

I can't wear my hair short.  It gets tooo wide with all the curl.  Mine has to be at least shoulder length or longer.

I agree with you Karen.  I am Italian Catholic and very traditional in my beliefs in general and I personally don't see any issue with two men or two women getting married.  Personally, I think the fact they want to make that commitment is wonderful.  I don't get people, really.  How could they care so much about it that they would vote against it.  How would it impact them?  People make my head hurt.  Seriously what do they think is going to happen it two people of the same sex get married - it's going to start raining pigs and cows.  URGH!

My niece turns 16 tomorrow and Riley turns 5 on Friday.  We are having a Toy Story themed party at a restaurant on Friday.  My girlfriend from work is making a Jesse the Cowgirl cake.  I have no idea what it is going to look like, and I am getting a little nervous.  I've seen the cakes she's done before and they are wonderful, but I can't help it.

MIL and FIL are coming in for the party - first time in 4 years.  They decided the stay at our place since it would be cheaper.  She is definitely right; however, it's hard to listen to someone who spends months in Europe every year complain about a $69 a night stay at the Hampton Inn down the street.  I just don't understand why she doesn't say they want to stay with us, so they can see more of Riley - that would make sense.  Oh well, I am never going to figure her out.

Hugs and thoughts to those that need them!

I don't give a crap who gets married. As long as the person is capable of giving consent, it's all good with me. I have no intention of getting married ever, so how do I even know anything about it or have any sort of authority on it.

I'm sure Riley's cake will be excellent. My cousin made the cake for my niece's first birthday party, and it was so cute.  I wish she would do my cake (actually, she would if I asked her to).

    I finally have a sig!!!

Nice one -- but Callie should hold out for letters after HER name!  ("pajama person" -- you go girl!)

Kit -- go to school kiddo -- that story gives me BAD vibes.  Too rebellious?  probably ... but just wanting to avoid hassle or too darned afraid to go home because of what could happen there and no one to listen at school?  wow ...

Heaven have mercy I am SO tired today.  Stress can do that to ya, I guess.

I was annoyed as heck -- they gave David a new medicine/drop schedule for Charlie yesterday and it is FULL of mistakes.  Good night, this is confusing enough without trying to decipher this and not *miss* something.  I shouldn't have to do their proof-reading for them.

Ditto to this.  For me, as long as the adults are capable of giving consent, I don't see why they cannot be married.  Not for nothing, but I've known gay couples who've been together longer than their heterosexual counterparts...

I'm also with you on the never getting married thing.  Finally people have stopped asking when the significant other and I are going to marry lol.  We've been together just over 8 years. =)

    Yes, nice sig Jen.

    Kit - please go home.

    Tina - I'm sorry you're feeling crappy.

My hair is fine and straight and I've had it long for most of my life. I toy with the idea of cutting it but chicken out. I love that picture Sharon posted but in general, I love long hair. I don't do much to mine other than wash it every day and blow dry it with a round brush. I do use several products but that's mostly because I have fun trying new stuff. I know people with short hair who have to do a lot more to get it to look right.

My coworker will be in the office today and she's bringing her dog with her. Elvis is a rat terrier mix and as sweet as can be, so I'm excited to see how Shane gets along with her. I emailed the cardiologist yesterday about let Shane play after our training out at HB. She said she'd prefer that he not have bursts of activity like that but understands I can't always prevent it. She did ask that I limit it to 2 min's vs. 5.

*grin* yeah -- and see David and I get married over and over again so we do our part to totally skew the national statistics!!

Oh btw ... the good news is, by the time I got home last night, Charlie had graduated to the "If I just BASH IT -- IT'll MOVE!!!" school of e-collar wearing.  I had just kept showing him if he moved the cone just a bit he could get unstuck, and we left him uncrated yesterday, and he was happily ramming around with that cone last night.

He sez it's danged difficult to eat a treat with a cone on -- cos he likes to drop it and pick it up and move it around in his mouf before he crunches it -- and when the cone is longer than your nose ... DANG!!! you can't pick the treat up again!!

But I was DELIGHTED to see this confidence arise in him -- he's not been a horribly confident dog, so this is a GOOD thing and something we've worked on.

She's working on it, and Luke is working on more letters. They'd be doing better if they didn't have such a lazy human, but such is the life of a pajama person.  We do have another dog, but Pigeon doesn't photograph well. Callie is technically not mine personally, but she was recently gifted to me (when I was debating a potential move, my mom basically told me I needed to take her, but I decided to stick around here).

And yes, go to school Kit. Or go home. Go to a friend's house, or a relative. Go somewhere.  I hope he didn't take off because he was worried about the trouble he would get in for whatever he was sent to the office for.

Everyone wants something different with their hair.  Mine is thick and wavy and so when it's out of control, it's crazy town.
