Need 'breed' name for rescue dog

Need 'breed' name for rescue dog

The local rescue group that I try to help has a new pup in they named Lexus.
To me she looks like a brindle Boston Terrier pup ;possible mixed with Beagle.
Wish I had a pic to show but they do not have one on Petfinder yet.

So I need a cute breed name for her info sheet - I was thinking of Beagleton Terrier but thought someone here could come up with something better.   Figured it might help her chances of adoption to be thought of as a designer dog.  [;)]

[:D] I really like that name - Beagleton Terrier.

    Hi Robin.

Guess what? There is such a thing already. Go to this web page and look up Boglen Terrier. It is a Beagle and Boston Terrier mix. LOL

Personally I like your term better. LMAO.[:)]

OMG!  That looks so much like her - except Lexus's tail was docked!  I guess someone passed her on to her original owner as a BT or Boxer pup and when she didn't grow up as expected she was tossed to the curb [:@].

Thanks for the link  It's definitely a SCARY WORLD!.

Robin, Go through some of these mixes. The names are hillarious. Like Schnocker. Schnauzer and Cocker mix. Too dang funny for words. Snorkie??? Am rolling here. I so needed a laugh a huge belly laugh to relieve my stress.

Yes, I'd like to order one "Cocker-Tese" please.

They are pretty funny, if you don't think about the fact that links are given to "breeders".

That is sad "designer breeds" in deed. Just the names alone are a riot.

Didn't see one for the old man I took in who is a Beagle Chow mix. So, it could be Beacho or Chogle. lol

I was doing just that!  I'm laughing but trying not to think of the breeders behind these [:@].

It's really sad if people truly are "breeders" of these hybrids. Go to any shelter and you can find yourself a one of a kind hybrid and save a live at the same time.  Oy.

    "dorkie" (dachshund x yorkie)

    LOL

I wouldn't personally encourage that wretched industry with applying the same naming principles to your little foster.

Make your description of her personality as attractive as possible, get good pics and she will "sell" herself with no need for a ridiculous quasi-breed name.

I saw on there that the name Sheprador was already coined....that's what we came up with for our German Shepherd/Labrador crosses. But, they said a Sheprador is an Australian Shepherd and a Lab. [:(] What would a GSD/Lab be? The only other one I could think of was German Lab, but that sounds too much like a certian line of Labs, such as an English Lab, or whatever. Besides, we also have the German Shorthair Pointer for German....[&:] lol This is  so silly[;)]

I totally agree with that.... but then it occured to me also that maybe using a "cutesy" designer name for shelter dogs will help people to realize that they're the SAME dogs, mixed breeds, and getting one from the shelter saves a life....

Thanks - that was my thinking.  I do not condone purposely breeding mixes but figured if this gives her a better chance why not!

Volunteering at our local ACC shelter I have to ID some of these dogs. And to make them more appealing and adoptable, I had to find a "breed" name for them. I came across this site by accident, however, as silly as the names are it seems to be working with the general public which is sad in itself but great for the adopting pet. It gives them a new lease on life and an extention if they are dubed a specific breed. Now how sad is that?

Trying to extend the lives of several sweet, friendly adoptable dogs so the shelter wont PTS so quickly is there only *hope* of being adopted or a rescue taking them. That is why I found this and do stick titles to even the silliest looking ones so the ACC personell will hold them.

You may try the same approach Robin and it may work for you also.
