LOL Gina, I actually WAS thinking about that scene in Forest Gump lol.  I, fortunately, have no cholesterol issues so I don't really watch out for cholesterol laden food.  Now, I really want some shrimp cocktail, but alas I am actually out of shrimp at the moment.

Happy Birthday, Tina!  Chocolate and a massage --- definitely things I'd put on my birthday list, too!  I could do without the presbyopia and achy joints everyday, but unfortunately, I started dealing with those a year or so ago.  Yup, the mid-40's definitely remind you that body parts are beginning to wear down.  Even more reason that the massage is such a great gift idea.  Your son did good!

I don't like shrimp.  I actually don't like any shellfish.  I do, however, like "swimming fish."  Wild salmon is my favorite -- grilled, baked, pan-fried -- it's all delicious.

Nicole, when my friend reached the end of her first pregnancy, she was afraid to leave the house, for fear her water would break in the middle of the grocery store or in the car or something.  So, she'd stay home, then at the end of the day, when she hadn't gone into labor, she'd be annoyed that she wasted the day.  With her second child, she didn't care one bit, and was out and about right up until labor time!

Jen, good luck with the job prospect.  I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry about the issues of relocating, the dogs, etc.  Focus on having a great interview, and then see what happens.

Anyone want to guess our weather here?  No surprise - grey, heavy rains expected all day, maybe in the 50's.  But we're supposed to have a sunny, warm weekend, so that's what matters!

chocolate and a massage. Now that is a good bday! I hope you have a good one!

Bummer about the paw and the dramatics. Neiko is like that too. I stepped on his foot the other day and you would think the world was coming to an end. My other dogs don't show any pain. Dakota never did either. How Neiko ended up being such a wuss I will never understand ;p

I am not a shrimp or seafood lover at all. Can't stand the fishy smell or the texture of most seafood. Plus I can't help thinking about all the toxins in seafood which is kind of silly considering all the toxins in everything else we eat.

We had a bake sale at work today but it wasn't well planned. First it was on our "bike to work day" and second it was on a day when there were only 3 people scheduled to be in the office. Needless to say, I am not enjoying having boatloads of cupcakes, brownies and cookies sitting on the table all day near the break room. I'm ready to go throw them out so I am no longer tempted. The cupcakes are pretty cool though. One of the guys fiance iced them in vanilla frosting and put green US and South America shapes on top to make it fit with the earth day theme. Very creative.

    I'm so sleepy Sleep

I envy those of you whose babies came EARLY.  Mike was 10 days late, Ryan a whooping THREE weeks late.  His due date was August 15th and he didn't show up until September 6th.  And it was VERY humid that summer.

Shellfish....yep.  Swimmy fishes, not so much.  I love lake perch (white) fried, I enjoy talapia but as for the rest of them.....heaven help me, please don't make me eat them!  Which is why I sooooo enjoy lent and forced fish Fridays!  And, he has never one time asked for fish other than good Friday, so it's a self-imposed forced fish Friday.

I love all seafood that I've tried, and it's been quite a bit.  Not a huge fan of octopus or squid, but prepared right I enjoy them.  Heck, my dinner a few nights ago was sardines on toast!

lol Marty! I hope your "Mike Holmes" does a good job!

    Cathy, that sounds like fun!

Nicole, I'm so excited for you!! That's awesome that you get to take 12 weeks off. I did, too, and it was so nice.

Shrimp… bleh. Never had it. I can't imagine anyone looking at a shrimp and thinking "Mmm, that looks like something I want to eat."

We're supposed to get a few inches of snow tonight. Sad I know it's because I bought two awesome skirts last week.

Like my then 2 year old daughter said when she discovered chicken was CHICKEN, "It's good...but you don't eat their faces tho." The face of whatever I am eating is none of my concern. I've seen some ugly things that tasted great and some great looking things that taste like butt. Applying that across all foods including the ones that grow from the ground. It's all relative.

I love shrimp and most seafood of any kind -- but at this point shrimp has to be on my "suspected allergens" list -- SOMETIMES I can eat it with no problem, other times it sets me up for unbearable ITCH.  So I can't tell if it's something they clean it in, or shrimp from a certain place/w certain toxins -- so at this point, I just don't eat it.  *sigh* being up until 5:00 a.m. trying not to dig my feet;legs;hands, arms until bloody just isn't worth ANYTHING that goes in my mouth.

Used to think how it was fixed but I've fixed it myself and both had problems and not had problems.  *big sigh*

Our friend with the Greek restaurant -- what that woman does with ANY seafood is incredible -- Most countries that are small & surrounded by water truly know how to DO seafood/fish.  Greek is not just baklava & gyro, and Italian is not just spaghetti, ya know?

good night now I AM hungry!!  gee whiz you guys - sometimes reading this thread is not good for my waist!! LOL

    • Gold Top Dog
Do you ever regret doing something that had to be done? I have that feeling now :(
    • Gold Top Dog

DH thinks it would be cool if my water broke at work.  Co-workers think it would be great if my water breaks during a presentation or something.  Or, they will dump water on the floor to make it look like my water broke LOL.  I don't know what the fascination is with my water breaking!

I'm ready for her to come any day now, but I can't get my hopes up or else you guys will all have to listen to me complain for the next 5 weeks.  Glenda, they no longer let you go three weeks overdue, 42 weeks is the max, so if she isn't here by May 25 she will be evicted!

In other news, DH is being a butt.  He's had a to-do list for months, and making good progress other than the last two or three things which are things he absolutely despises.  They are things that I normally would have done, but really can't at the moment.  He's complaining about it and wanting to wait until I can do it later in the summer because, in his words, he would "do a bad job".  That's not going over too great.  For that, i think I will wake him up tonight every single time I wake up to pee or roll over.  Maybe then he will think staining the deck is a better option.

    • Gold Top Dog

LOL, Nicole, my DH was the same way.  Many moons ago, when I was expecting my 2nd, the oven really needed cleaning.  At that time, all we had were these caustic, nauseous chemicals, and there was no way I was going to breathe that stuff with my precious baby boy in my care.  Needless to say, it stayed dirty for a very long time...

    • Gold Top Dog
Yeah cuz you know after you have the baby you'll have SO MUCH TI E AND ENERGY! Lmbo! Men are so dense at times, lol.
    • Gold Top Dog

*rolls eyes* sometimes I want the help and other times I just want him to leave it alone.  He's about halfway done with staining the deck floorboards.... but unfortunately since he doesn't want to be doing it, he's doing a really crappy job.  He's not patient and just wants it done, regardless of how good he does -- because when it's done poorly, he knows I'll never ask him to do it again.  Men. I just know that if he waited for me to do it, it'd be next year before I could get to it LOL.  We get a lot of sun and wind/rain on that side of the house so it has to be done every 1-2 years anyway.  Bad enough that he'll probably leave painting the railing and spindles for me at some undetermined future point in time.

He is really good about a lot of things, but painting (staining) is not one of them.

Hahah I just looked for him and he's outside, in the dark, doing the stairs.  Wait until he realizes that it means he has to walk the dog tonight, and probably tomorrow morning since now Sam has no way into the yard.

Oh my gosh.  And from what I hear, meds are now the NORM while my generation was shamed for asking for them.  We know absolutely on Ryan since I had a central placenta previa and had to have a sonogram every 3 weeks.

    • Gold Top Dog

I would agree meds are the norm, but my options at the birth center are limited unless I transfer to the hospital.  Since that would be somewhat inconvenient in the middle of labor, I will *really* want to want those drugs before I deal with a transfer!  There's some non-epidural pain meds they can administer though too.

I had previa too but it had resolved by the time for my anatomy scan, thankfully.

I bought a mattress protector in case my water breaks while I'm sleeping.... or my boobs leak later on.... but I suppose it's doing me no good sitting in the box.  I wanted to clean the mattress first, though, and that's best done on a weekend so it can dry before we cover it and I didn't do it last weekend.  Must get done this weekend!
