I make these grilled shrimp kabobs with a cayenne, chili and lime marinade.  Soooo good and now I want some.  Maybe this weekend!  I make them with shrimp, pineapple, green peppers and onions usually.

Yum indeed!  I LOVE grilled shrimp.  Actually, I love shrimp anything..
Ditto that! But sadly they are super cholesterol loaded so they have been relegated to a "sometimes food" around here given the hub's diet. We used to bacon wrap them and grill them at LEAST once a week. No wonder his chol. was off the charts LOL!

Gina, I didn't realize they had so much cholesterol!  Thankfully, my cholesterol has always been good.  I eat quite a bit of shrimp.

Just last night, we had shrimp, broccoli, and red pepper strips in an orange-chipotle glaze over rice.

I must be the odd person out...I will eat shrimp, but don't particularly like them.

It was about midnight last night when I realized why I felt more comfortable about one of the roofers than the other...he reminded me very much of Mike Holmes on HGTV!  Guess who is getting the job?  LOL!

    • Gold Top Dog

I only like shrimp from the hibachi grill, so I rarely eat it.

I've got a phone interview tomorrow about a job. I don't know if I actually want to take it and move, but wish me luck either way. Even if I don't get it, I'm pretty excited about the person I get to talk to. I realized though, if I move, I am going to be kind of disappointed at having to give up on attempting to train Callie for Flyball. There's no way I can bring her with me, at least at first. It'll be easier to try to rent a place if I only have Luke, since he's so small. It'll also be easier to come back home to visit if I only have Luke. She's also not actually my dog, and she is technically my sister's dog. However, she does nothing with her, so I could probably take her if I wanted if I decided that's where I'm staying. Except she's not what I would pick. And here I go trying to convince myself not to do things that might be good for me before the opportunity is even necessarily available.

LOL, that would be my pick too :)

I did fresh pineapple last night too and we loved it.  I wanted to try Kabob's but never have and wasnt sure what, how, how long...so I just did veggies in a basket..yellow and red bells, zuchinni, baby bella's , brocollii, califlower.  We had never grilled the pineapple and I see that alot on the food network so I just had to try it.   I couldnt believe how wonderful it was.   Gina - I didnt know that about the shrimp.  I thought it was a good for you food.  Hubby's problem is healthy eating and now that he has been coaching me on grilling (at  my request )  I have had a chance to "expand our horizon's" or as he calls it...experimental. Ha!  He is so into trying different things so that helps.

Happy Birthday Tina!! I hope you have a wonderful day and massage. Cake

I love shrimp!! I like it raw, grilled, etc.

Today is our accreditation visit, so I have an office full of people. I was worried about being late, so I woke up at 5:30 Sleep. I'll be thrilled when this day is over.

I am loving our weather now. I went home and played in the backyard for awhile after work. So nice!!

I've decided I want to take DH to Disneyland for his BD next month. We've never been together and have talked about how fun it would be. I want to splurge and stay in the California Adventure hotel. It's right on the resort property, so super convenient. Hopefully we can get this planned before schools are out for summer.

Oh, I really hate when that happens, too.  Good luck on the accreditation.

    Happy birthday Tina!

I'm not a shrimp person.... shrugs.  Just doesn't have any appeal to me.  We had turkey sausage last night... I try to avoid smoked meats for the moment but it was really good.

I am officially full-term at 37 weeks tomorrow.  Eeeek.  I'm sure she's not budging for a few more weeks but crazy that she could!  I'm still at work, but definitely less productive lately.  My excuse is that my replacement needs to learn how to do stuff while I'm still here Cool

Happy Birthday, Tina! Enjoy the massage. That was nice of your son to remember, eh?

Actually, he is very good about remembering birthdays and always tries to make the day special, whether it is for me or one of his friends. Not typically a guy thing, so I do give him credit for effort.

I almost forgot to mention, Buddy is back to eating normally.  Woo hoo!

Nicole - how much time are you going to be taking off? I'm getting super excited for you.

12 weeks!  After the full FMLA, it gets a bit tricky to be off longer as there is no longer job protection and it involves a lot more paperwork as it's a real Leave of Absence.  My first week or two back though I'm thinking I'm going to take a day or two off to try to ease back in though.  I have plenty of time.  I have enough sick days where the entire 12 weeks is full pay, and I will return still having something like 6 sick days, 2 personal days and 13 or 14 vacation days. I'm excited too!  Beats being nervous about this whole childbirth thing ;)

    Happy Birthday Tina!

Nicole - just so you know - I went at 37 1/2 weeks with Riley - never saw it coming Wink

I am in training all day today and tomorrow.  It's SPSS training (stats software package).  It's pretty interesting since I used to use it a lot when I was an analyst but haven't used it much lately so its nice to have a refresher course.

I like shrimp either grilled or roasted for shrimp cocktail.  YUM!

    • Gold Top Dog
Yes shrimp have tons of cholesterol BUT little to no saturated fat...which can be easily ADDED if you are not careful what sauces you use or how you cook them (in oil, what kind, etc). I am becoming very good at spotting sat fat and cholesterol in things these days. Makes for a healthier hubby but also a healthier me...so I'll take it. Just remember moderation...applies to so much in life! Aside from Vodka or Rum.

BTW...is anyone else hearing Bubba from Forrest Gump in their heads right now? SHRIMP CAKES, SHRIMP STEW, SHRIMP ETOUFFEE, BOILED SHRIMP, FRIED SHRIMP...lmbo!
