One of our stores hired a woman whose first name is Twinkle (it's on her proof of i.d.). All I can say is thank you mom and dad for not doing that to me.  Indifferent

Wow, just wow.  I met a girl called pajama one time (pronounced Pa ja may).  I figure my day can only go up from my morning.  I woke up to my sick dog having had a large quantity of extremely smelly diarrhea on the carpet of the den.  As I'm cleaning the den I get sick and have to clean that up to Ick!

I did get a chuckle out of a news headline the other day "Woman named Fellony Arrested"

    That is certainly chuckle-worthy!

Names are tough.  I'm a bit sorry that the baby name we've chosen is on the more popular side, but they way I look at it is this -- in the years of our births, both DHs and my names were both on the top 10 and were, percentage-wise, more popular than the #1 names for today (since people are branching out and picking weird spellings or odder names, such as Twinkle).  And I don't mind my name, nor DH his (Joshua).  And since our last name has a bit of an odd spelling I'm glad to go with something a bit more mainstream for a first name.  But still, I didn't want to be the ones that name our child something that was quite as popular as it is. It's still way more stressful than I thought it was going to be!

My name must've been popular when I was born -- we had 3 Tracy's living in the same apartment complex when I was a kid.  When one of our mothers yelled, "Tracy!" from a door or window when we were playing outside, all three of us would answer, "What?"  Then whichever mother it was would say, "MY Tracy!" so we'd know which one of us was being called inside!  Stick out tongue

Nicole, I've always thought it would be terribly stressful to choose a child's name.  I think if I'd had kids, I would've wanted to NOT name them until I could assess their personality more, like at about age 2 or 3 years old so I could be sure the name would "fit!"  Obviously, that's not an option, so I think I'd do what you said, and select something a bit more mainstream or traditional.  Easy to pronounce (to avoid embarrassment when people first say it) and easy to spell.  My name can be spelled several ways, and it's been misspelled all my life -- even on my college diploma!

Tracy, I have a male co-worker whose name is Tracy. He and his gf are expecting a baby in late summer and just found out it's a girl.  His friends are teasing him that he can still name her Tracy Junior and get away with it. Good thing he's got such an easygoing demeanor and a sense of humor.

Thank goodness wiser heads prevailed.  My oldest sister wanted to name me Kemalene after my Dad, Kermit.  Glenda is bad enough!

OMG, I opened a package that came today and immediately burst into tears.  My sisters and my Mom sent me an absolutely beautiful tapestry....of MIKE!  He's playing the acoustic/electric he got for graduation and I'm pretty sure that photo was from his grad night.  What an absolutely beautiful tribute to Mike.

Wow, Paige -- what an amazing tribute to the Chief -- all those officers lined up.  I can only imagine how moving the funeral service was.

Glenda, what a wonderful gift!   A very special way to keep Mike's memory even closer to you each day.

I hadn't heard about Mr. Clark -- he seemed like a force of nature, so youthful despite his chronological age, and always "hip" to the current world, keeping up with things in an industry that changes so drastically all the time.  I'm sure he had a big influence on many entertainers throughout his life.  I bet he'll have some special people greeting him in heaven!

Edited to add - Tina, pretty funny about your co-worker, Tracy.  It actually would be kind of neat.  Maybe her middle name could be Tracy!

This is just the wake.  We're expecting twice as many for the funeral tomorrow.  They're having it outdoors at the local high school football stadium where he played football when he was a student there.

Kermalene... interesting!  I was to be named Paige had I been a boy or a girl - I was the last-ditch effort at having a boy.

    Glenda, Paige, BoneyJean....{{hugs}}

Gina that is wonderful about the concert, I have never played an instument and wish I had tried it when I was much younger.  Congrats to the beautiful girl child :)  I know you must be very excited about the remodel, it can be tough but so rewarding when it is done.

Been a very busy day here.  Whew! Glad it is almost quittin time!

Long week and hard to imagine that tomorrow is only Thursday Tongue Tied

Much to catch up on when i have a chance - I just got back from a high speed 5 mile bike ride with poop-for-brains. He has, as many said, had no issues potty-wise (i have had someone come in everyday, 3 different people and each time he wasn't interested in greeting them - odd because he loves them all but I guess its just weird for him) but the 1 mile in the morning and 1.5 in the evening hasn't done the trick. His pot was simmering so decided to let him run himself silly.  THAT apparently helped as when we got back he did tons of rolling in the wet grass and then did a LONG hysterical zoomie.  He can be such an odd character at times but I do know that keeping his energy drained is the key to his anxiety.

Course is going well and nerdbrain that I am is happy to report I have gotten 100% on all four exams thus far. One more day and one more exam and I can get back to life and work!

My original first choice, just based on my preference, had been Kaylynn/Cailyn/Kaylin/Caylin or one of the other 12 ways to spell it.  Because we couldn't figure out the "normal" spelling, and realized it was a bit more popular than we thought because each of the spellings had to be added up, we ditched it early on.  I still like the name, but realize it wouldn't really work for us, unfortunately.

I had lists from before I was pregnant, but it's sooo different to have a hypothetical list, versus a "this will actually be a child's name" list.  Way more difficult than I imagined.  If munchkin turns out to be a boy instead, he will be nameless for a while since we had a hard enough time with a girl's name. LOL
