chiuaua doesnt bark?

my dad has a chiuaua and its about 4 months old and i haven heard it bark. it yelps when its hurt or scared but ive never heard it bark before. and every chiuaua ive seen was a loud barker...now i dont really find it a bad thing that he doesnt bark becasue IMO theyre bark can get a bit annoying at times. but im just wondering is there something wrong wiht him?

I don't think it's anything to worry about (and like you kind of pointed out) it may be to your advantage!lol*

Some dogs just aren't as voiced as others and he's only 4 months old!!!

i see what u mean...i still find it kind of odd....a silent chiuaua? maybe hes a mute...lol

My dad's dog is about 3 years old now and he finds it odd that he's only heard her bark a handful of times. She only does it when she is scared or very stressed. Some dogs are just like that. I'd be thankful, haha!

Some puppies don't "find their voice" until they're a bit older and some just aren't interested in barking much ever.

Count yourself lucky if this continues!!! However, I had a poodle/cocker/something mix that didn't bark until she was eight months old and then never shut up for 14 years.

Be really thankful that he doesn't bark yet! My dog didn't start barking until he was about 8 months old, now I can't get him to stop! Hopefully your dads dog will remain a non-barker![
