    Tired Thursday Talk

The name says it all.  Except for the blech feeling like I'm getting a cold ickiness.

Hope everyone else has a good day!

Glenda, hope you feel better soon!

I really need to start exercising again.  However, thinking about it makes me shudder lol.

Tracy, from yesterday, these bomb threats are ridiculous.  Another 7 buildings were targeted overnight.  Sheesh.  It's disruptive enough to me, but I can't imagine the students that are being evacuated from the dorms in the middle of the night with only about two weeks left to go in the semester.  They've tightened up security a lot, but they've never found anything in any building.  Just keep getting threats that they of course have to take seriously.  We're definitely over 60 building evacuations so far in the past month or two.

How is Sonja's arm doing this morning?  Hope she's on the mend!

I have a bit of barometer head going on again.

Congrats on the new wheels, Jackie !!

Going to get my hair cut this afternoon.  I'm seriously considering letting it go grey because I am sick to death of having to dye and mess with it.

Sonja's doing about the same as last night. She did let me ice it a bit this morning right after she work up; and she got some ibuprofen. She mostly keeps her arm down and uses her left had for everything, including eating, which is awkward for her. I'm downstairs working so I haven't been observing her too much (DH is watching them.) I haven't heard her cry much except when Willa takes a toy away or something.

Poor Sonja -- I have to say I'm with everyone else -- I'd go back to the dr.  -- this doesn't sound good and she'll be getting a "frozen" joint (a joint that loses it's mobility) if it's let go too long.  it's hard to tell with a child because they will avoid doing something for fear it *will* hurt.

Husband is home today doing taxes (poor David -- 15 years and he still can't get used to the American tax thing and a wife who stresses over it).  He's been working so non-stop for months taking the day off was the ONLY option.

The dogs, however, were completely confused.  He got up early, as normal, but didn't "leave".  When I went to the bathroom this morning I had three pairs of eyes peering at me as if to say "HE IS STILL HERE".

    rocked their world LOL

I finished our taxes last night.  I had done our local and state a while ago, and started the federal, but since we owed them a reasonable chunk I wasn't finishing it any sooner than I had to!  I hate tax time.... I do it myself but I also tend to stress over it and DH wouldn't get the past the name and address part of the return.  DH also had some self-employment earnings this year which were a pain... it's not a significant amount of our income so I don't worry about deducting "home office space" and the like, but if he keeps it up I might have to brush up on that.

Poor Sonja, hope her arm gets better super quick!

Ms. Pokey Foot (aka the baby in the belly) has been a little less pokey this morning.  Either she's as tired as I am, or else she's running out of extra space in which to be pokey!

     Hehe!  Ms. Pokey foot, lmbo!

I know a lot of you are "sports" fans but I am not.  As most people in the world have heard our Football coach at the U of A got himself in a pickle.   I am really tired of hearing about Bobby Petrino...ugh.  It's done, he's gone, lets move on to more important stuff.

Callie, lol at the 3 sets of eyes.....   It is so funny how our pets get so used to routine and schedules.   Hot and Rock know the difference between work day and weekend by the things I do each morning.    I get up at the same time but the routine is less hurried.  I also dont make coffee during the week cause Ron sleeps later than I do.   However; when I make a pot of coffee the boys know that "The mommy lady is stayin home today" :)

Deb, I tried coloring my hair one time and it was such a disaster I will never do it again.  The gal who did it is the same one who cuts my hair.  I was so upset with the color that I was crying. I was extremely specific about the color I wanted but apparently she didn't believe me or just doesn't have the skills. She said she'd never had anyone cry before.  I told her that if I had wanted my hair a bright orange/red color I would have used food coloring.  We're back to being friendly and she's never brought it up again.  I'm trying to grow my hair out but it's looking so shaggy that I need to get a trim.  I hate messing with my hair and will let it go completely gray in it's own good time.

I got an email from a friend this morning that she forwarded from someone else.  It's another of the many she sends warning about some fake danger or internet scam.  She knows I always check Snopes and I usually let her know when the scam is false.  She said in this one that it had been verified by Snopes.  When I checked it had been verified.  It was verified to be false. lol

I hope Karen's presentation is going well.

    Sending little Sonja healing vibes.

I too hope that Sonja's arm will start feeling better. This same thing happened to my friend's son when he was 2ish. They were shopping and he started being silly and she pulled him to his feet by his hand. Next thing you know, he's screaming bloody murder. They reset his elbow but put him in a cast for a few weeks. That was a long time ago, so maybe they don't do that anymore. Anyway, give her some gentle hugs from me.

It poured all night and looks like it will continue most of today and tomorrow. Fortunately, the weekend should be wonderful and we'll even be in the mid-70s by Sunday - woohoo!!

I did too and it actually turned out nice...but then 6 weeks later it looked a mess cause it was growing out.  I decided there were way too many things I needed to do with my time and money and coloring was not one of them :).  I also keep my hair long so I dont spend much money at the salon.  Couple times a year for a trim is plenty.   I actually had the lady at the DMV ask me who does my hair cause she loved the suttle frost, lol.  She was a tad embarrassed when I told her it was my natural gray coming out. :)

Feeling better vibes for Sonja's elbow coming from us too.

Ho hum day here.  No meetings, which means I am getting actual work done.

Joyce - sorry to read about your poor grandpup, run free little guy.

I would be perfectly happy if I woke up one morning and my hair was 100% gray.  It's the stray gray hairs that drive me nuts.  I color, but I do it from a box and it is essentially the same color as my natural color just to cover the grays.

    • Gold Top Dog

I think my hair is 65 - 75 % gray now.  I just need to stop dying it - I need to talk to my hairdresser on how to grow it out without looking like a skunk.

I probably just sprouted 10 more greys.  A certain rather large and well known office machine company shipped me 2 cases of fax toner when I asked for 2 each. I called and was told they would pick up either one case or both and then I'd have to reorder the 2 each, but just FYI, we don't sell them as an individual item.  Um, your website lets me order individually, your outsourced phone rep said I could order 2 each, not by the case. So if I keep one case, I will get charged for one each (in a perfect world), but somehow I think the error will be realized, so I'd end up being charged $99 each for 12 of them. But I can't keep the 2 I wanted and since our fax machine needs toner now, I really can't wait another week.

And before anyone says, "your office still uses a fax machine", yes, because we are in mi-Michigan, technology will not catch up to some of our vendors until 2112.
